Hardcore-infused Death Metal seems to be what all the kids are into these days...
Made popular by the likes of Nails followed by Gatecreeper, both borrowing heavily from Swede legends Entombed, bands are finally beginning to branch out, shying away from the blatant Stockholm worship for a more American influence (whether for better or worse). While many seem to fall in the pit of mediocrity, some do it convincingly enough to catch my attention. Hanging Fortress, hailing from Toledo, Ohio, are one such band. You can tell the boys convictions are real and their passion burns deep. Not much unlike one of the first bands I signed, Mutilatred (Toledo heavyweights), they remind me of when I first met those dudes and how genuine and deliberate they were with their craft no matter what anyone else thought. Maybe Toledo, typically a forgotten industrial city on the way to Detroit, nurtures that type of hunger....
With that said, I'm glad they are on our team and I'm proud to share their first full length, Darkness Devours, with you all .
Formed in 2018, Hanging Fortress is a young 5-piece Death Metal band from Toledo, Ohio. This Ohio quintet combine vicious blast beats, bonehead riffs, and crushing primitive groove intended to absolutely pummel the listener. Swedish death metal band DARKENED, featuring members from A CANOROUS QUINTET, MEMORIAM and ANGELBLAST, will release their new album "Kingdom of Decay" on September 11th. Formed at the beginning of 2017 by Leonel Contreras (Guitar and voice), as an old School Thrash Metal band with the incorporation of melodic and modern touches. In July of that year METALRIFF would record their first EP titled Pray or Die which consists of 4 tracks, with which the band would become known on the Chilean scene. A year later in July 2018 the band would release their first full length BLINDED which would consist of 8 songs and 39 minutes. With this album the band would consolidate generating a number of good presentations throughout Chile and seeking a greater projection and dissemination of their music, this is how they began to record what would be their new full-length UNDER MY SKIN, an album with a Musical evolution very marked with a more aggressive sound and faster guitars, and this is how in August 2020 METALRIFF publishes its second studio album UNDER MY SKIN under Australis Records label.
Baltimore, Maryland viking metal band ISENMOR have released a lyric video for the track "Furor Teutonicus". The tune is part of the band`s new album "Shieldbrother" that will be released independently on October 9th. Sydney based metal phenomenon Temtris has signed a record contract for their 6th studio album, that will be released in April 2021 with Wormholedeath Records from Italy.
The album will be distributed through the label’s worldwide connection with Aural Music Group (AMG) and U.S.A. company, The Orchard Music Inc (Sony Music Ent.). The April release will also include an exclusive Japanese pressing!

ABOUT THE BAND
Temtris formed in the year 2000 in Sydney with Wayne Campbell ( Formally from Mortal Sin) on Drums , Anthony Fox on Guitar and Genevieve Rodda on Vocals. Temtris was later joined with lew Smith on Guitar to record the first album Threshold in 2002.
In 2006 Temtris was back in the studio to record the second album Masquerade, released with worldwide distribution through Battlegod productions. After few line up changes, Temtris continued to tour up and down the East Coast whilst writting material for the 3rd Album. In 2010, recording started on the 3rd Album Shallow Grave and the band had also time to tour across Australia , playing shows in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane.
In 2014 the 3rd album was finally released and launched at Sydneys Valve Bar on the 28th march 2014. Temtris was proud to announce it had the support for "Accept" at the Factory theatre in Sydney in November of 2014. Playing to a sold out crowd of 800!
Temtris released the 4th studio album Enter the asylum in April of 2016 and toured it across Australia with a fantastic response.
In winter of 2018 they released the single RUN and has had an amazing response with over 12,000 views in 6 months. In October Temtris released Rapture, the 5th studio album. This album received amazing reviews worldwide and received many album of the year nominations for Australian release of the year. Rapture was toured across Australia in 2018.
2019 saw Temtris play with bands such as Loudness, Ensiferum, Girlschool, Tank , Raven, Metal Church, Marty Friedman and a one off Acoustic show with Michael Sweet.
In 2020 Temtris headlined Smashfest in NZ and opened the show for Geoff Tate in Sydney.
Temtris hit the studio in January to record our next single Forever. Temtris brought you the new film clip on June 20th which was filmed at Bombo Quarry and has received amazing reviews and plays in the first 24 hours of being released. Stay tuned for the next chapter \m/

Hailing from the northern landscapes of Sweden, GRID were established in 2014 by Frongo, Andreas and Wilke. With the initial goal set to annoy Umea's hardcore elite, it didn't take long for the band to find a refined sound. Now a duo, GRID lyrically evolved to a more melodic kind of grindcore with misanthropical lyrics, faster D-Beats and harder blast beats. They have played OEF in 2016, a Southeast Asia tour in 2017 and a Nordic tour the year after. GRID have now returned to their classical three-piece formation with the addition of Kaka in order to write their new album "Livsleda".

Dredged from the swamps of DeLand, Florida, long-running stoner metal/sludge outfit Junior Bruce is about to unleash their fourth studio recording via Sludgelord Records. The Pray for Death LP will be released on cassette and digital formats.
Vocalist Scott Angelacos, bassist Tom Crowther, guitarist Nate Jones, and drummer Brett Tanner established the band in 2007, signing to A389 Records in 2010; that same year, Angelacos founded High Five Studios with friend Jeff McAlear. Bryan Raymond joined Junior Bruce on guitar in 2011 and the band released their debut album The Headless King with A389 in 2012.
Unfortunately, the band went through some tragic transitions over the next several years. Brett Tanner passed away in 2012, and Bryan Raymond survived a debilitating motorcycle accident in 2015. Jeff McAlear stepped into Tanner's role, while Chris Hayden replaced Raymond as the second guitarist; the band put out two releases with A389 during this time, The Ocean's Daughter EP in 2014 and full-length album Endless Descent in 2016.
Junior Bruce began a new chapter of writing and recording in 2018 with guitarist Brett Walker, who joined the band after Nate Jones's departure. Drawing influence from Black Sabbath to Motorhead, Pink Floyd, and Bad Brains, the band delivers freight train riffage that has just the right mix of menace and groove. Over the years, they've supported the likes of Pentagram, EYEHATEGOD, Integrity, Big Business, Yob, Monolord, Weedeater, and more, as well as appearing at Maryland Deathfest, A389 Bash, Mutants of the Monsters Festival, Anti-Pop Festival, and Florida Is Loud Festival. Called "bullish and blistering" by Louder Sound and "striking" by Glacially Musical, this was a band on the precipice of great things.
And just as Junior Bruce was ready to kick into high gear, the coronavirus pandemic put the music industry -- and everything else in the world -- on hold. They were able to finish recording the LP Pray For Death, with McAlear handling production duties at High Five Studios and Sanford Parker at Hypercude in Chicago, Illinois contributing his mixing and mastering expertise.
Pray For Death is the work of five musicians who have honed their creative and collaborative processes over more than a decade, overcoming many challenges along the way. Soaked in swamp muck and drenched in fuzz, Junior Bruce is a force to be reckoned with.
