KORPIKLAANI RELEASE VIDEO FOR NEW TRACK "NIEMI"

PRESS RELEASE:

With only 4 weeks remaining until the release of their 11th studio album Jylhä, Finnish Folk Metal Superstars KORPIKLAANI are happy to present another new song to their fans. Niemi is a fast paced and catchy neckbreaker which is reminiscent of the band’s heavier past, and it will be accompanied by a good old fashioned performance video that showcases KORPIKLAANI at what they do best.

This is what frontman Jonne has to say about Niemi :

"Niemi was one of the first songs for this album. I had a feeling after 'Kulkija', that a next album could be the fastest and hardest ever in Korpiklaani's history. I looked at my Flying V, picked it up and here we are!"

The meaning of Niemi ("The Cape"):

"Lake Bodom 1960, “Bloody Pentecost”. Four youngsters, Irmeli Björklund, Anja Mäki, Seppo Boisman, and Nils Gustafsson were the target of a murderer on their camping trip. The sole survivor was Nils Gustafsson, who was badly injured. The summery triple murder on the lake side shocked the whole of Finland. In the story, the narrator is on a meadow near the lake spending a summer morning, when the surroundings come alive and the narrator hears the call “Come to the end of the cape, terrible things have happened”. Everyone who heard the call quickly heads towards the murder cape. The story is carried by stagnant time and the momentary nature portraits. The murders of Lake Bodom remain unsolved."

Director's Word:

"In this video I just wanted to capture the band's insane energy on stage. So here's Korpiklaani with cold & fire, smoke & leather!" (Markku Kirves)

DEAD EXALTATION RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "THE TRANSFORMATION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Indian technical/progressive death metal trio Dead Exaltation releases the 2nd single from their upcoming album, alongside disclosing the artwork, tracklist, and release date. The single is accompanied by a lyric video that showcases specific elements of the artwork. The album, Despondent, features the absolute finest of South Asian extreme metal musicianship and songwriting, balancing a progressive approach with old school atmosphere.

Toilet ov Hell debuts the track, “The Transformation,”  from the album. (read + stream full feature HERE).

Previously released single “Coerced Sewer Ingest” got its premiere at Everything Is Noise last month.

The album Despondent releases February 05th. Pre-order digipak CD/digital format AT THIS LOCATION.

Dead Exaltation is a technical/progressive death metal band from Pune, India. They began in 2015, drawing inspiration from a variety of bands, including Cryptopsy, Cattle Decapitation, Gorod, Spawn of Possession, and Cynic. Throughout their existence, the band has focused on creating thought-provoking, concept-based lyrics and song structures adorned with complex rhythms and melodies, as well as an old school sensibility.

Over the years, despite the ups and downs, Dead Exaltation has carved up a ferocious reputation for themselves in the Indian extreme metal scene. The band has managed to play shows across major cities of India like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and shared stages with veteran stalwarts such as Gutslit, Plague Throat, Manrating Orchid as well as foreign bands Dehydrated (Russia) and Metastasis (UK) to name a few.

In the beginning, they were a 5-piece band, with most of their songs being written chiefly by the two guitarists: Sourjyo and the recently deceased Mradul. Later, due to different directions in life, bassist Anish and guitarist Sourjyo left the fold. However, the band, now spearheaded by Mradul Singhal as the main songwriter (who is also doubling on guitar and bass), continues to evolve their sound.

This evolution resulted in the recordings for their debut album, Despondent. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in the middle of the album production as Mradul passed away. The band’s remaining members, vocalist Satyajit and drummer Aditya, were determined not to let Mradul’s legacy pass in vain. The music was mixed and mastered, and even the artwork was made ready after his death. Musically it centers around the engaging guitar-work that blends in elements from classic death metal as well as progressive metal, searing through chaotic sections with a melodic sensibility. The vocals and percussion make sure never to let the extremity cease, supplementing the guitarwork with necessary brutality. The album stands as a testament to not just Mradul’s diligent work, but also to the undying camaraderie he shared with his bandmates.

Lyrically the band chooses to add a bit of spice to the usual death metal fare by creating a conceptual story that continues with every song. It revolves around a psychopath warden who runs a prison holding innocent people picked up from the streets. The guards of prison are cannibal psychopaths who do not refrain themselves from torturing, killing, and eating people. Like every good tale, this story is divided into three acts: the incidents, the psychology of the warden, and an investigation leading to a brutal and bloody end of the story.

With the release of their debut album, Despondent, on February 5, Dead Exaltation is all set to introduce the world to their sonic craft.

DEAD WORLD RECLAMATION RELEASE NEW TRACKS "HERALDS OF THE FORMLESS ONE"

PRESS RELEASE:

With each new year, we can at least count on the advent of new music and material from bands that are new to us that ends up making the days and weeks go by with greater ease. To that end, Tempe, Arizona-based technical melodic death metallers Dead World Reclamation and their upcoming sophomore album, Aura of Iniquity, should prove to be an exciting addition to the best death metal that will come out in 2021. Dead World Reclamation - Aura of Iniquity is set for release on Friday, April 23rd.

Active since 2017, the band has previously released their first album, Sentient, in October of 2017. Fast-forward to 2021, and Dead World Reclamation has grown into an entirely different beast ready to take over the world. Although still a melodic death metal band at heart, the group's current form is greatly enhanced by technically inclined playing and orchestral layers paired with streamlined catchy songwriting. As always, they continue to stay true to their roots by infusing their complex take on melodic death metal with a metric ton of impenetrable heaviness and skull splintering brutality added in throughout Aura of Iniquity.

Dead World Reclamation - Aura of Iniquity will strongly appeal to fans of Wretched, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless, Inferi, and Alterbeast.

This week the band partnered with No Clean Singing to premiere "Heralds of the Formless One".

No Clean Singing comments

"The first word that comes to mind in considering the new music of Dead World Reclamation is extravagant — quickly followed by exhilarating, ingenious, and barbaric. Mark Erskine‘s cover art for this Arizona band’s new album, Aura of Iniquity, is itself astonishing, but make no mistake: it’s not misleading, because the music within is equally striking and no less memorable. And the songs’ lyrical themes are in keeping with the fascinations of the art and the music."
