Burning with Luciferian hunger and baptized in nuclear horror, HOC EST BELLUM rose from the ashes in 2022. Based between Helsinki and Turku, the power trio unleashes a savage blend of grinding and bestial black/death chaos, channeling a sound that is both primitive and devastatingly direct. Musically, "The Battle Of The Dead" marks a decisive step forward for Embrace Of Souls. Blackened death machine COMPLEXANT has arrived. These Australian extremists are poised to unleash their first-ever full-length album, Apex.

Indian death metal force Godless have unleashed their brand new video for “Architect of Torment,” premiering through Decibel Magazine. The track marks a darker and more oppressive evolution in the band’s already devastating sound, pushing deeper into sinister territory while maintaining the precision and brutality fans have come to expect.

Decibel Magazine praised the single for its “tightly controlled aggression, jagged rhythmic turns, and suffocating atmosphere,” describing the song as “violent, focused, and mean enough to leave a mark.”

BIOGRAPHY:

Soulgrind is a Finnish metal band formed in 1992, known for blending gothic metal, thrash and black metal into a dark, melodic atmosphere. The band was founded by Lord Heikkinen, who has consistently contributed guitar and programming. Since 1999 Miika 'Azhemin' Niemelä has handled keyboards and programming, later adding harsh vocals.

Soulgrind's music often explores themes related to the darker aspects of Finnish history and psyche, combining passion, war, and the "dark side of mind" into their lyrical content, reflecting a deep connection to Finland's cultural and historical roots. But there has always been the bride side for the aspects as well. Classic war of love and hate.The  sound has evolved over the time, but Soulgrind has maintained a core identity rooted in metal with a dark, atmospheric edge, resisting strict genre categorization and embracing musical development freely. Freedom of metal has always been the theme. And so it shall be.

BAALZAGOTH, a band from Kostrzyn nad Odrą (Poland), makes it clear from the very first notes: there is no room for compromise, salvation, or mercy. Embracing the aesthetics of blackened death metal, the band delivers music that is brutal, direct, and consciously aimed at religious dogma. Their sound is a sonic assault - heavy, dense, and permeated with a darkness that not only accompanies but overwhelms.

Baalzagoth draws from the hellish legacy of the death metal scene—you can hear echoes of the merciless power of Morbid Angel, the suffocating chaos of Incantation, the ritualistic severity of Immolation, and the extreme intensity of Hate Eternal. However, this is neither a copy nor a nostalgic homage - the band takes what is heaviest, most sinister, and most primal in death metal, then ramps up the brutality to the breaking point.

Since its inception, Baalzagoth has consistently forged its own identity: anti-religious, dark, and ruthless. The culmination of this journey is the album "No God, No Savior" - the band's most polished, ruthless, and mature release. It's intense and conceptually coherent material, consciously evolving their existing sound toward even greater extremes and expressiveness.

All music was written and arranged by the band, except “Auto da fé” which was composed, performed and recorded by Michał “Joda” Sobczyński. Ika Klimaszewska (soprano vocals & vocal samples) appears as a guest on the tracks: “Satan”, “Excommunicatus ab humanitate”, “Auto da fé” and “Gloria Apostasiae”. Drums were recorded at Sound of Records Studio by Mikołaj Kiciak (Blindead 23, Leash Eye), guitars at Tetra Wave Studio by Krzysztof Kostencki (Morrath, Sothoris), and the material was subsequently recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered at Heinrich House Studio by Filip Hałucha (Azarath, Behemoth, Hate). The album cover artwork was conceived by Oktavius, with artwork and layout created by Ksenia Kot, based on a photograph by Maciej Pieloch. Band photography was done by Maciej Pieloch (Batushka, Hate).

The band comments on the upcoming release: "No God, No Savior is not just an album—it's a manifesto of extremes. A sonic declaration of the rejection of the idea of salvation, an affirmation of chaos, and the triumph of darkness over the illusion of meaning. Baalzagoth doesn't attempt to reinvent death metal. New studio album "No God, No Savior" will be released on June 6, 2026 in digital format and on CD via the Polish underground label Putrid Cult (pre-order).

The album's sound is a unique fusion of classic heavy metal, black metal, doom, post-punk, and neo-crust, delivering a cohesive and distinctive sonic experience. Despite its high-level production, the album retains an old-school sensibility, ensuring a raw and powerful delivery. Recorded and produced at Seraphim Studios by Robb Kavjian (known for his work with 1476 and Monastery), Kavjian also lent his talents as session drummer and bassist for the project.

About IX of Blades: Founded in 2023, IX of Blades began as the one-man project of horror writer Curtis M. Lawson (author of Black Heart Boys’ Choir and Devil’s Night). Following two EPs and several singles, the project has evolved into a formidable live band, featuring former and current members of The Innsmouth Look and 1476. ETERNAL RECURRENCE Embarks On An Emotive Voyage In New Single "Eternal Recurrence" ft. Mordian

"Eternal Recurrence" is the new single release from ETERNAL RECURRENCE featuring guest vocal performance by Mordian (DIAMORTE and SHIELD OF WINGS). Drawing inspiration from chamber music, ETERNAL RECURRENCE offer an alternative, more intimate take on modern symphonic metal. "Eternal Recurrence" is the title track from the project's forthcoming, self-titled, debut EP due to arrive later this year.

In "Eternal Recurrence", the metaphor of a sea voyage represents a symbolic journey pertaining to the grief and struggles of experiencing miscarriages. Nautical imagery is present not only within the lyrics but also across the instrumental arrangement of the track. The implementation of the minor key and driving rhythm of the 'Ashoka'-style theme represent the inevitable storms faced along the way. Meanwhile, a softer, major key version of this theme performed on piano at the very end of the song signifies gentle lapping waves and a safe arrival into the habor.

Project founder, multi-instrumentalist and composer C. Alex Luke comments, "For those fighting against such choppy waters, it can be emotionally devastating to watch friends and family experience 'smooth sailing' as they have healthy children seemingly easily and without any difficulties or complications. After a couple of miscarriages, it can feel like the cycle of pregnancy and loss will 'eternally recur'."

Guest vocalist Mordian, who also appears on the first single “Precious Stones", returns on this track. Bringing an ethereal quality, Mordian contributes to powerful harmonized duets with C. Alex Luke, and an emotive lament in the song's bridge.

All material on Eternal Recurrence was composed around a chamber ensemble led by German Dmitriev on violins, Steven Schumann on cellos, Maciek Szczyciński on double bass, and C. Alex Luke on piano. These elements are combined with aggressive guitars, lead work, and drumming rooted firmly in modern metal.

The upcoming self-titled EP represents the first chapter for ETERNAL RECURRENCE and introduces the sonic identity that will guide the project moving forward. Copenhagen grinders MELTIFICATION have arrived with their blistering, self-titled debut album. Reminiscent of the late 80s/early 90s era of Earache Records bands, MELTIFICATION unleash a fast and aggressive breed of grindcore with shares of hardcore punk and thrash metal.

Meltification delivers 18 rapid-fire anthems of obliteration aimed right at the throats of old-school fans of extreme metal and grindcore.

MELTIFICATION was formed by veteran of the Copenhagen hardcore scene, Tue Sprogø (Death Token, Asbest, Deformation). Sprogø’s passion for classic grindcore lead him to to team with ex-Imperious Mortality drummer Thomas Rindom. The band gives life to an absolute bulldozer of an album, marked with fast, hectic blastbeats and crushingly heavy grooves.

In addition to writing the music, and recording all of the guitars, bass and vocals, Sprogø also illustrated the album’s artwork.

Meltification was recorded, mixed and mastered by Lasse Ballade at Ballade studios in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In November of 2025 Cleveland, Ohio based Flowers of Rust – a vehicle for the tortured and emotive musical outpourings of multi-instrumentalist Jake O’Brien – released their second full length album, Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul, on an extremely limited run of hand-numbered CDs. It seemed that this remarkable work of blackened art was destined to remain an underground secret, its desolate sonic landscape largely unexplored. However, an alliance between Flowers of Rust and international label Apocalyptic Witchcraft is set to bring richly deserved new life to this monumental collection of soul-scarring hymns. The following statement regarding the signing was issued under the Flowers of Rust name: “The journey continues. Flowers of Rust is honoured to join the Apocalyptic Witchcraft family—a collective bound by vision and intensity. The music of Flowers Of Rust has been described by the artist as a ‘journey into the forgotten, the forsaken’ and with the first, haunting notes of the introductory ‘Eigengrau’ a pall of solitude descends, a feeling of intense loneliness - and the gate to Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul swings open… The title track that follows is a richly organic creation, formed from the essence of despair and hopelessness. The riffs seem to breathe, the rhythms like a heartbeat – alternating between frantic anxiety and utter despondency – while the vocals are unvarnished, harsh and bitingly real. Our descent into shattered abandonment continues through ‘Sour Mercy’, a step into emptiness that begins with a feeling of being helplessly lost, before the guitars take on more menacing and dangerous shapes, delivering sharp injections of jagged pain. ‘Brave New Corpse’ summons an oppressive, soul-crushing weight and all consuming, impenetrable blackness through anguished, agonized riffs, colossal chords and razorblade guitar motifs; then explodes into a rush of bleak exhilaration with melancholic melody winding wormlike through its heart. ‘Bright Violence’ offers stately dread and imperious dissonance, fraught with a sublevel of desperation and perturbation, before casting us into the freezing torrents of ‘Mother Atrophy’. An absolute highlight amongst an array of blighted, splintered treasures, ‘Mother Atrophy’ drags us down into its raging, shadowed depths before casting us upon a distant shore – cold, alone, lost once more, howling beneath an endless, pitiless sky. It is then left to ‘Driftwood’ to render the perfect, broken conclusion to our journey through these Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul.

Featuring the formidable drumming of J V Green (Burial Oath, Goatchamber etc) and a guest guitar contribution from Thorn Blackfyre (Black Altar, Vástígr etc), Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul is a work of incredible potency. Mixed and mastered by Thom Tadsen (Cringe, Trenchgoat etc) it has been cursed with an emotional intensity that pierces the heart like a cold, steel needle. Complete with new artwork, Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul will be released by Apocalyptic Witchcraft on cassette and digital formats on August 7th and a new host of tormented souls will be drawn to its bitter radiance, like moths to a flame.

GOLD SPIRE RELEASE "STEPS INTO SHADOWS"

GOLD SPIRE’s second full-length album Steps into Shadow will be released on June 19, 2026 via Awakening Records. The album will be available on CD and digital formats.

Formed in 2019 in Uppsala, Sweden, GOLD SPIRE was created by brothers Erik Sundström and Påhl Sundström following the end of Usurpress. What began as an outlet for ideas developed during the recording sessions for Usurpress’ final album Interregnum gradually evolved into a project drawing from progressive death metal, doom, progressive rock, and jazz-influenced arrangements.

Together with saxophonist Magnus Kjellstrand and bassist Petter Broman, the band developed a sound focused more on atmosphere, contrast, and dynamics than strict genre boundaries. Heavy sections sit alongside slower melodic passages, while saxophone, flute, and layered arrangements play a consistent role throughout the material.

On Steps into Shadow, GOLD SPIRE moves toward a darker and more direct approach while keeping the progressive and death metal foundation central to the album. The material balances heavier riffs and dense arrangements with more restrained passages, allowing the album’s atmosphere to build gradually across its runtime.

The album also marks the first release with vocalist Arvid Sjödin (FLOATING), who joined the band following the departure of former vocalist Heval Bozarslan. His vocal approach brings a different presence to the material while fitting naturally into the band’s evolving sound.

Steps into Shadow was recorded between 2023 and 2026 at Studio Siborator by Erik Sundström, with mixing and mastering handled by Lawrence Mackrory. The artwork was created by Påhl Sundström.

Rather than moving further toward technical excess, GOLD SPIRE continues to focus on mood, pacing, and atmosphere, combining progressive structures with death metal weight and darker melodic elements without losing cohesion.
