TORCHIA RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO: "NEKROMANTEION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Finnish extreme metal force Torchia unveil the official video for “Nekromanteion”, premiering today via Metal Insider. The single will be released worldwide on all digital platforms on March 11th.

Following the first single “Stygian Waters”, which introduced listeners to the darker sonic direction of the band’s upcoming album "They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness", “Nekromanteion” pushes further into the occult themes and shadowed mythology that define Torchia’s evolving artistic vision.

Hailing from Tampere, Finland, Torchia have steadily refined a distinctive style rooted in thrash-infused melodic death metal while expanding their sound with darker tonal layers and a stronger emphasis on atmosphere and narrative depth. Across their discography, the band has gradually shaped a fictional realm inhabited by old gods, arcane rituals and practitioners of forbidden arts, blending extreme metal intensity with the imagery of gothic horror.

Musically, “Nekromanteion” reveals another dimension of that evolution. Driven by ominous arrangements and a growing sense of tension, the track places greater weight on mood and atmosphere while retaining the band’s trademark guitar-driven aggression. The title refers to the ancient Greek Nekromanteion, a temple believed to serve as an oracle of the dead. In the song’s narrative, a necromancer attempts to cross into the realm of the dead, risking the perilous passage across the waters of Styx.

As the opening track of the album, “Nekromanteion” sets the tone for the record’s overall direction: a synthesis of memorable songwriting, technical intensity, and darker sonic textures supporting the album’s gothic horror narrative.

With "They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness", Torchia further expands the cursed world introduced throughout their previous releases, pushing their sound toward a darker and more blackened dimension while preserving the melodic sensibility and guitar-driven foundations that have defined the band since their early years.

Fans of Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, and Children of Bodom will find in Torchia a band capable of merging extreme metal ferocity with dark storytelling and memorable melodic hooks.

MAGNITUDO RELEASE "MATERIALISM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Magnitudo is a post/sludge metal trio from Bergamo, Italy, releasing their third album 'M A T E R I A L I S M' on March 20, 2026 via Dusktone.

The album is a concept inspired by Zingonia, an industrial ghost town near Bergamo — born as a utopian project in the '60s, now a symbol of decay and broken promises. Magnitudo transform this setting into a visceral exploration of contemporary collapse: consumerism, alienation, and the dominance of matter over spirit. Musically, it's their heaviest and most claustrophobic work yet: monumental riffs, crushing rhythms, and oppressive atmospheres that mirror an industrial landscape with no future.

BIOGRAPHY

Magnitudo is a post/sludge metal trio formed in Bergamo in 2016 by Dario I. (vocals, guitar). Their sound merges post-metal and sludge with a more traditional metal structure. Apocalyptic and alienating themes complete an extreme and visceral sonic offering. The band has released two albums, 'Si Vis Pacem' (2016) and 'Man Against Fire' (2018), and an EP, 'Scotoma' (2023). Over the years, the lineup has solidified with Antonio C. on drums and Marco B. on bass. Live, Magnitudo deliver a dense and suffocating wall of sound, conceived as a direct and brutal experience.

MYCON RELEASE "WHERE SILENCE SINGS A HYMN"

PRESS RELEASE:

Mukilteo, Washington doom metal trio Mycon deliver a towering statement of atmosphere and weight with their release “Where Silence Sings A Hymn,” available now. Built on massive riffs, cavernous tone, and haunting melodic passages, the record stands as a powerful entry into the modern doom landscape while staying rooted in the heavy tradition of the Pacific Northwest.

Emerging from the rain-soaked shadows of the Northwest heavy scene, Mycon craft songs that move with deliberate force. Thick, layered guitars collide with thunderous rhythms and bleak melodic textures, creating an immersive listening experience that feels as vast and brooding as the forests and coastline that surround the band’s home region. Their sound blends crushing doom weight with hypnotic groove, delivering music that unfolds slowly and patiently before erupting into towering waves of distortion.

Formed in Mukilteo, Washington in 2020, the band was built around a shared passion for the slow-burning power of doom metal and the atmospheric pull of melodic heaviness. Mycon channel that influence into compositions that balance punishing riffs with moments of dark beauty, guiding listeners through expansive sonic landscapes that feel both meditative and crushing.

The band’s live performances bring that same atmosphere to the stage. Mycon build their sound patiently, locking into deep grooves before rising into enormous crescendos that fill the room with a wall of sound. The result is an immersive and punishing experience that resonates strongly with fans of heavy, melodic, and atmospheric metal.

Fans of Yob, Conan, and Horn Of The Rhino will recognize the spirit behind Mycon’s approach, but the band’s voice remains distinctly their own. Their music reflects the patience, darkness, and raw power that define the Pacific Northwest heavy scene while carving out a path that is unmistakably doom.

“Where Silence Sings A Hymn” continues that mission, pushing deeper into Mycon’s signature blend of crushing riffs and haunting melodic weight while setting the stage for even more material on the horizon.
