About

On January 14th, 2022 internationally, PERSONAL RECORDS is proud to present NULLIFICATION's striking debut album, Kingdoms to Hovel.

Formed in May 2021, NULLIFICATION's brand of death metal is sure to bring destructive breakneck music to old-school listeners with their exciting debut album. Founded by Jayson Gonzales in his hometown of Bay, Laguna, Philippines, he initially wrote the materials for the album before he was later joined by Andrei Alemania on drums, Rozel Leaño on vocals and bass, and Jonathan Miranda on lead guitars — all current members of Desolator (Philippines) and Formless Oedon. The band finished writing, recording, and production of their debut album in June of the same year.

After its ominous intro, immediately upon pressing "play" to Kingdoms to Hovel, the listener will be transported back to glorious times — ancient days done with ancient ways. NULLIFICATION's attack is pure and true Metal of Death brewed in the cauldron of olde, with their foremost influences of Mercyless, Benediction, Demolition Hammer, Ripping Corpse, Morbid Angel, early Cynic, and Asphyx ringing loud and clear. However, the quartet are no mere plagiarists, and proudly contribute to this hallowed lineage with righteously ripping songwriting that's straightforward and fucking EVIL and a possessed & poisoned style of execution that literally sounds DANGEROUS. Everything comes at you at once, and there's NO ESCAPE. Sealing the coffin is the devastating production: palpably physical, and the perfect balance between clear 'n' cutting and raw 'n' bloody.

Mark our words: one will not find a death metal record in 2022 that sounds as authentically 1992 as NULLIFICATION's Kingdoms to Hovel.

About

Sungazer mini EP - includes instrumental version and bonus Radiohead cover

releases April 8, 2022

VISCERA have released a new EP, entitled Sungazer

Speaking about the new EP, the band shares, “we’re surrounded by this smoke screen lifestyle, where people base their comparisons of others through a diamond lens that leaves all the sh*t in the shadows…Sungazer touches on that. Lyrically, it’s about becoming fixated on pursuits or people that ultimately have a negative impact on your mental state, to the point where you become cut off and disassociated with everyone around you. The distraction tactics we take on to escape from that, only to find yourself losing sight of the things that truly matter in your life and by then all the time has passed. We thought having the song set on another planet would be a cool way to symbolise that feeling of being cut off and alone.”

AN EVENING REDNESS RELEASE "AN EVENING REDNESS"

PRESS RELEASE:

AN EVENING REDNESS

by AN EVENING REDNESS

Tracklist:

1.Alkali 12:00

2.Mesa Skyline 06:31

3.Winter, 1847 08:54

4.The Judge 10:38

5.Pariah 06:23

6.Black Flame at the Edge of the Desert 10:07

About

The stunning self-titled debut of An Evening Redness is parched desert drone doom and the sound of thunder over the mountains. Evoking the hallucinatory clarity of the alkali plains and the biblical violence of it's literary namesake, An Evening Redness bursts from obscurity with a fusion of sounds that seem incompatible on paper but prove blindingly innovative in action.

Deeply introspective and evoking hallucinatory darkness, An Evening Redness' self-titled debut is the newest release from Brandon Elkins. "S/T '' is a masterwork of diverse ambient doom and post-ambient composition, with the minimalism of Earth contrasted with passages that wouldn’t feel out of place on Jesu’s ‘Opiate Sun’. An ensemble of musical talents including vocalist Bridget Bellavia (BLKTXXTH, Piggy Black Cross), guest soloist Brendan Sloan (Convulsing), and session drummer Ryan Jewell (Riley Walker and many others) serve to underscore the drama and focused production contained within the album's six tracks. What ties the whole album together is an atmosphere that feels spiritually closer to a film score than what you’d expect from a solo record. In his own words “I wanted to make music that sounds like how ‘Blood Meridian’ reads. Lonely, high plains insanity, sudden bursts of violence, longing melodies, ambient isolation.” Elkins' work has always been hard to pin down, but this feels like a culmination of not only the best elements of his many projects - but the compositional mastery that can only come from decades of refined craft. With the intensity of modern doom masters like Bell Witch and the emotional and musical dexterity of Neko Case at peak powers
