HELLS HEADBANGERS is proud to present CEMETERY URN's highly anticipated fifth album, Suffer the Fallen, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
By now, CEMETERY URN require no introduction. Pillars of Australia's now-legendary extreme metal scene, for nearly 20 years have these barbaric death metallers pursued their strict 'n' staunch vision of absolute ultraviolence - and ultraviolence with poise and daresay class. Though lineup shuffles have always been a part of the band's picture, through it all, erstwhile ABOMINATOR founder Andrew Gillon (guitar, sometimes-bass) has steered their turbulent ship and rendered four equally punishing full-length tomes: each one immediately recognizably CEMETERY URN, but each one subtly expanding their sound with no compromise and no quarter. That seven years separated their second and third albums and five years have passed since their fourth matter not; dread deeds are always bubbling within Gillon's cauldron, and he's now assembled another deadly lineup, resulting in another deadly LP.
Titled Suffer the Fallen, CEMETERY URN now see the arrival of drum god Brandon Gawith (ESKHATON, HOBBS ANGEL OF DEATH., Vahrzaw), bassist Joel Westbrook, and fellow ABOMINATOR founder Chris Volcano on vocals. Wasting no time, Suffer the Fallen kicks in and proceeds to scorch all and sundry. Once again, CEMETERY URN exude their trademark poise and, yes, CLASS; pulverizing and often operating at unsafe speeds, the quintet still put proper songwriting at the forefront, and color it with a payload of devilish details and deft shifts in tempo and texture. To the uninitiated, Suffer the Fallen will stun and likely sound overwhelming, but those who already drink deeply of the extreme arts will perhaps be surprised at how lithe CEMETERY URN's characteristic barbarism has become. Sharpening that attack to an enviable degree is the clear 'n' cutting production courtesy of Adam Calaitzis at Toyland Studio, resulting in a fortuitous first partnership. Same goes for the stark cover artwork courtesy of scene legend Mark Riddick - Suffer the Fallen indeed!
Given CEMETERY URN's deep roots in the Australian scene and their preceding history, both in ABOMINATOR and Gillon's late-days work in the influential BESTIAL WARLUST, it's with no small amount of fanfare that original vocalist Damon Bloodstorm - of course, former frontman for both BESTIAL WARLUST and ABOMINATOR - is resurrected from the grave on the vinyl-only bonus track "Mass Graves of Blood," an unreleased track from 2007 which also features original bassist Squiz and thus marks the final time that the original CEMETERY URN lineup was together. Altogether, eight tracks in 35 minutes of pure Australian Barbaric Death Metal: Suffer the Fallen and none survive!

This album began as a coping mechanism to deal with the increased pressure and stress of a society mid-pandemic. Cynicism and pessimism are hard things to remedy when it seems as though complete strangers are eager to harm one another over ideologies they both hardly comprehend and those who have control willingly living in blissful ignorance, and being caught in the middle of a world like that scratched the scab of a wound that won't heal. And thus, "This Pain Knows No Fucking End", came into this world over an extensive production period.
To date, "This Pain Knows No Fucking End", is the longest amount of time both Ulf and Brady have spent completing an album together (being three years) and the result is a cohesive yet caustic sonic assault of genres that converge and bleed together in ways the duo have yet to embrace, creatively. It's pained. It's hateful. It's grueling. It's raw. It's furious. And it's finally completed for you to hear.
We just hope personally that you all enjoy what we've been so excited to finally have finished together.

"My first EP, 'Reincarnate,' will release on August 25th. This is the result of 2 years of writing ideas every day! Those are the ones you see on my social media. I made songs out of my very best ideas and have been working on this since I released 'Binomial' in 2021.
For this EP, I combined elements of Tech death and Djent. I always wanted to find a band that sounded like Monuments and Necrophagist combined, so this is my attempt at blending those two sub-genres together. I also wanted the music to sound unnerving and fierce through orchestral arrangements.
The orchestra adds a 'dark fantasy' vibe due to my love for the Souls-borne series and fantasy books. The orchestra is different than usual on this EP because I made use of contemporary textures like the choir clusters in 'Maidenless,' and the extended string techniques in 'Reincarnate.'
25m42 did a tremendous job of portraying all of this information on the artwork. It carefully illustrates the order in the music but also manages to keep it unnerving and mysterious. This is why I love his art, and I can't be happier about his craft on this EP cover."

After many years of silence, Italian dark scene legends CULTUS SANGUINE are back, full of strength and inspiration, and with skills that have become perfectly honed. Their return presents dark metal at its purest, distilled into a deeper, darker, and doomier form.
Entitled "Dust Once Alive", the new album tells about the tragedy of the gray and mundane life, trudging along from day to day and approaching a sad ending. Signs, goals, and trail lights are no more than false illusions for these ultimately meaningless lives.
The recording was made at ADSR Studio by sound engineer Carlo Meroni, who’s known for working with many bands in the Italian extreme scene and is a master of his craft. The album’s mastering took place at the Moonhouse studio in Milan.
The release comes in a stylish four-page digipak with a booklet to complement the aesthetic pleasure of the dark art of CULTUS SANGUINE.

MYRKUR (Amalie Bruun) returns with her highly anticipated new album, Spine!
The new album is a tour-de-force, amalgamating some of the most exciting, innovative, and genre-defying moments from MYRKUR's catalog into something that is haunting, extreme, and brilliant as ever. Spine lays MYRKUR bare, at her most raw and unwavering, and is undoubtedly one of the year's most ambitious and cinematic albums.
Spine relates to MYRKUR's personal mythology. Written during one of the most difficult times in Amalie Bruun's life - Spine is the direct result of her experiences following child birth. From the love and euphoria that comes with motherhood, to the fears of the unknown and the mysteries of the journey ahead, Spine is ultimately an album about seeking balance amidst chaos. To Bruun/MYRKUR, the record explores the very human nature of what it means to be a mother, and finds resonances with Scandinavian mythology to do so.
Recorded with Randall Dunn at the Sundlaughin Studio in Iceland (Sigur Rós) - the ebbs and flows in Spine reflect the width and breadth of MYRKUR's emotion. These sonic shifts are represented in music that sees MYRKUR touch upon an array of influences - from undeniable metal as heard on the inimitable "Valkyriernes Sang", to darker sonic territories inspired by folk and haunting vocal passages on "Like Humans''. Elsewhere, the brooding "Mothlike" showcases a new side of MYRKUR's sensibilities, with touches of electronic underpinnings and lush synth orchestrations.
Spine's title track proves to be one of the most moving songs of the year, as it transcends through moments of affable, delicate vocal, percussive, and string arrangements to a massive chorus that serves as a thesis statement for the rest of the album. MYRKUR's euphoric outlook is in full display here, as the song proclaims, "My body made your spine / You and I intertwine / You made me human / Stay with me / You will be / The one I love the most".
With Spine, MYRKUR unravels the next chapter in the personal mythology of Amalie Bruun, and sets a new course for the enigmatic band.
