“The First Circle” is the debut album by Blackened Noise / Post-Metal project EDEN. The album is set to be released in digital format via Brucia Records on July 30th 2021.

A terrifyingly dark and demented album, skilfully combining caustic, abrasive and tormented black metal with demonic post - hardcore, industrial and noise.

EDEN is not just a band, but an artistic initiative blending sonic and visual catharsis in order to explore lunacy, terror and fear through the use and manipulation of unusual mediums, including recycled materials, bowed guitars and prepared piano altered with bolts and screws.

A suffocating nightmare made by layers of bone-shattering sounds and told by a monstrous voice lurking in the dark and screaming in madness - “The First Circle” is an uncompromising showcase of psychopathy in music, and a truly disquieting and frightening listening experience.

Addictively dark, fiercely experimental, noisy and just purely extreme: EDEN’s debut album is the sound of the end of time as told by a deranged mind.

EDEN is a collective of noise-makers: a collaboration project between various figures gravitating around the underground music scene whose intent is to create something frightening through the use and manipulation of unconventional mediums.

All songs are completely improvised and recorded in one take, using unusual instruments such as recycled materials, bowed guitars and prepared piano altered with bolts and screws.

St. Louis, MO, biker prog outfit Voidgazer will release their new album ‘Dance of the Undesirables’. The band was originally formed in 2015 and are not for the faint hearted - they intend to live fast and leave a bloated haggard corpse.

Their raging power takes no prisoners, but Voidgazer deliver far more than just aggressive sounds. ‘Sexual Sadist Serial Slasher’ brings a catchy riff hook, along with heavy dissonant and progressive experimentation. The harsh vocals are demonic, and the entire sound descends lower and lower into the guttural depths. The title track, ‘Dance of the Undesirables’, exerts a dynamic build-up into high energy, fast speed riffs. Ludicrous shredding entails while vocals explore further guttural lows and shrieking banshee screeches. And not forgetting an unusual twist, blues influences emerge and segue seamlessly into the realms of the dark. Voidgazer continuously push conventional genre boundaries with each track. ‘Blast Equalizer’ sees progressive experimentation with their choice of chord sequences and inclusion of non-standard time signatures. The track goes all in with another powerful breakdown and dives even further into the entrails of the oppressed gloom.

Voidgazer have discovered a means of delivering a solid extreme metal sound whilst weaving their own unique progressive identity into the mix. They manipulate the dynamics so well it’s impossible to predict what’s coming next. High speed sections also show off their technical abilities and explore a fantastically dark sense of creativity. ‘Dance of the Undesirables’ is sheer heavy chaos in the best possible sense.

About the album:

“With death, times stops, matter fades, present and future cease to exist, and only the past remains.” (Sergio González Bombardiere, 2019).

Upon death, the remaining body is disposed, the person is transformed and keeps living through the ones who remain, in the form of memory, image, and blood.  Their past, and the way it molded our lives and destiny, is a perduring reflection of their existence. 

Sergio says of this album: “On Wednesday January 6, 2021 my father, Sergio González Bombardiere, passed away suddenly. We buried my father on Friday, I went home afterwards with certain relief that he had already received a proper funeral and that it was now time for us to grief. On that weekend, while trying to cope with this new reality, I went to my studio, and having no idea what to say or do, I wrote the song Per Aspera Ad Astra”.

"All I had to do was throw out the idea that we should probably play some death metal. The band was immediately there and working from day one! It really felt like we were like 15 year old dudes making music that is larger than life. The vibes were packed with energy and I feel we captured that on the record.

Born onto Hawthorns was a logical choice as the first single because it was also the first song we ever wrote together. No holds barred from the first riff on, which incidentally was the first Noutaja riff ever played! You don’t have to be a super genius to hear some of the influences being channeled from our hands to your home speakers!

This is the real thing. Out of love towards the game." 

 

Biography:

Collectively we are Noutaja. (That is Finnish for The Grim Reaper.) We are not young, so everyone in the band has already done cool and succesful stuff. Many of those things together in some formation on another in the last 15 years. We are not old either. But we are hungry to make music.

We love 90’s Death Metal and we want to make music that we feel passionate about. What would you imagine we would sound like?

We sound like every band you thought was good back in the day. Only better.

Also we know that in life you get zero points for nostalgia.

So now is good. Scars and all.
