St. Paul, MN – Minnesota doom/death metal wrecking crew Red Vinter have officially opened exclusive Bandcamp pre-orders for their crushing new full-length album Ghost In The Fog, set for release later this year.

Recorded at the legendary 14:59 Studios in Minneapolis, Ghost In The Fog was co-produced by vocalist/bassist Mike Bullock and engineer Will Maravelas, continuing the creative partnership behind the band’s debut release Lumbering Menace. Across eight massive tracks, the album digs deeper into bleak atmosphere, slow-burning heaviness, and the kind of suffocating doom that sticks in your head long after the record stops spinning.

The recently released single “Cryptic Site” offers fans an early taste of what’s coming. Packed with crawling riffs, haunting tension, and cinematic dread, the track showcases a band pushing their sound into darker and more immersive territory while still delivering the raw underground heaviness that built their following in the first place.

Ghost In The Fog follows the underground success of Lumbering Menace, which earned support from independent radio stations including WXAX, KFAI, KMSU, and others across the doom and extreme metal scene.

Faded Remembrance is a one-man Atmospheric Doom/Death/Gothic metal musical project founded in 2020, located in Győr, Hungary.

The music is supported by trumpet, trombone and synth. The rhythm of play is slow-mid tempo (60-150) using 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 6/4 time signatures. The vocals have clean and harsh parts as well. Tuning is standard D and very distorted rhythm guitars and bass, the clean and solo guitars have an atmospheric tonality.

The songs have lots of melody inside but also the trumpet, trombone and synth can add some bitter-sweet tonality to them.

The lyrics are about human nature, inner struggles, faith, existence, emotions and nature, they are more poems than just simple lyrics.

I used to have words I wanted to say, opinions I wanted to voice. I believed fervently in right and wrong, in a morality that gave meaning to all I did. I used to have thoughts about…about…so many things. I know I stood for something and against something. But it has all drained away; down the tubes, through the wires, into the watching mechanical eyes. I am an empty vessel yet I make no noise. All is as it should be. I must sleep now. I’m not meant to be awake. I must sleep now…

Old Year have existed since 2017, initially as a two piece, in the murky shadows of the Boise, Idaho underground music scene…behind closed doors, a rumour, almost a secret. But in 2021, their line-up fleshed out to a trio, the band crawled out from their cellar stronghold into a post lockdown world and on to the stage, unleashing the insidious horror of the droning doom death that had sustained them in their isolation. In 2023 an eponymous 10 minute single became their first release – an immersion into the slow death of humanity. An ocean away Apocalyptic Witchcraft were drawn to the “uniquely desolate voice” of Old Year and now the first results of that new alliance are ready to be set loose.

No Dissent is a four track album of colossal weight, an agonised crawl through a parched, dystopian hellscape. ‘Death Frequency’ begins this trip into suffocating, bleak emotion…an insectile drone of guitars above slow, staggering drum beats carrying deep, suppurating vocal intonations – pronouncements of doom from a long dead throat. Will, desire, motivation and belief bleed slowly from your body, replaced by a black ichor of hopelessness fed into your veins to the sound of a scream of agony and despair, drawn out for eternity. Worlds die in the spaces between the chords of ‘Rotting Illusion’ and Old Year tighten their grip around your spirit, dragging you deeper into their claustrophobic embrace. There’s no moment to breathe as you slide into the maw of ‘Mechanical Birth’ where the threat becomes more direct, more immediate. This track, this movement in this grand symphony of suffering, is not content to let you drown. It moves towards you with hooks in hand…inescapable. And finally ‘Lock Step’; so oppressive you feel yourself dissolving beneath the awesome mass of Old Year. When it’s all over movement feels impossible. It takes time for the shadow of Old Year to slip from your skin, for its hold on your mind to release. And you’re left with a hunger…an addiction to the lethargic torment you have just escaped.

Adorned in bleak and tortured artwork, No Dissent will be presented to the world by Apocalyptic Witchcraft on October 24th. A vision, a warning, a promise… asphyxiating and soul crushing. Approach Old Year’s gifts with care – the future is bleak indeed.

EVIG NATT’s music is aggressive but subtle, noisy yet beautiful, a maelstrom of symphonic darkness that could only be described as Orchestral Gothic Doom Metal. From the unholy metal grounds of Karmøy, west Norway, this band follows in the footsteps of Einherjer and Enslaved, featuring ex-band members of both.

EVIG NATT was started as a studio project in 2003, by vocalist Kirsten Jørgensen and bassist Stein Sund. Soon after that, EVIG NATT recruited drummer Harald Magne Revheim.

In 2006 EVIG NATT signed with Omvina Records, and released their highly acclaimed debut album «I Am Silence» in early 2007.

EVIG NATT added Oskar Naley on vocals, Ruben Osnes, and Arne Marton Tangjerd on guitars for the recording of their darker and heavier second offering. After signing with Black Bards in 2009 “Darkland” was released to raving reviews in April 2010. This alliance saw EVIG NATT featured in national magazines worldwide, including Metal Hammer and Scream.

EVIG NATT released their third self-titled album «Evig Natt» on March 19th, 2016 and off the back of that got to tour countries such as Belgium and Japan.

EVIG NATT’s sound is unique, blending everything from progressive metal to black metal, and incorporates inspiration from bands like Anathema, My Dying Bride, Swallow The Sun, and The Provenance. This is a band to keep an eye out for!

Nashville trio ACT OF IMPALEMENT are back with a third full length.

Formed in Paris in 2002, Inborn Suffering quickly established themselves as one of their country’s premier exponents of majestic, melodic doom death. They released two exceptional albums in the form of 2006s Wordless Hope and 2010s Regression to Nothingness, played numerous high profile shows alongside the likes of Swallow The Sun, Saturnus and Mourning Beloveth…and then slowly slipped away into years of silence. Pale Grey Monochrome features all the trademarks of Inborn Suffering’s music – the crushing weight and towering majesty, the piercing emotion and beautiful guitar melodies, the aching vocal lines and sombre gravitas – but Inborn Suffering have returned not to match their past endeavours, but to surpass them. They have ventured further than ever before into the depths of despair and human suffering, they have poured every drop of their own sorrows into the sublime, melancholic melodies that unwind around the staggering riffs…in songs like ‘Tales From An Empty Shell’ and ‘Drawing Circles’ they have crafted doom death laments of breathtaking magnificence. They share insurmountable grief in ‘From Lowering Tides’, offer faint hope with ‘Of Loss And Despair’ and then crush it with the darkness of ‘The Oak’ and it’s undercurrents of fear and whispers of danger. ABOUT NULLPUNKT:

For their debut album "Nullpunkt", COLDSPINE developed their individual style and sound of Doom/ Sludge Metal. The full length record consists of 9 tracks and has a total runtime of 46 minutes. The songs differ from very slow Doom territory (title track "Nullpunkt", "To The Ground"), sludgy mid-tempo groove ("Odd", "Torture Rack") to faster approaches, riffs and rhythms ("Among Serpents", "Misery Routine"). Furthermore, the band puts some atmospheric elements into their music while also using clean guitar sounds and noise parts ("Regression", "Minus") as well as a dose of dissonance in their riffs. The vocals and lyrics (written in English and German) support the deep atmosphere of the music. The Album was mixed and mastered by Blackout Studio (Belgium).

This leads to a high dynamic range and variety while experiencing the record in its entirety. Overall, with "Nullpunkt" COLDSPINE offer a diverse, varied debut record in which the band adapts elements of multiple subgenres without losing their musical roots in the Doom/ Sludge genre.

For the handpainted artwork, the band worked together with local artist Lisa Schroeder (Instagram: lisaschroeder.art). The artwork represents the bleak, dismal character of the songs and especially the name/ title of the album "Nullpunkt", which symbolizes being at your lowest point in a metaphoric way.

For over a decade, Matt Krogen has been playing guitar and attempting to form a band, but finding long-term commitment from others proved challenging. With a deep interest in all rock and metal subgenres, a passion for doom metal emerged after discovering a 24/7 doom metal channel on YouTube. The song "Where Suns Turn to Grey" by Veil Of Conspiracy profoundly influenced him, inspiring the writing of lyrics and self-teaching piano.

Krogen managed to secure assistance for vocals and album art, financing the album's production. He has released a hard rock album titled "Die Royal" and is currently working on a power-metal project called Melting Kandle. Additionally, he is awaiting the publication of his first sci-fi novel. As a multifaceted artist, Krogen continues to search for his place in the world.

The EP has a variety of sounds, combining doom and death metal in a simple yet engaging way that will keep people listening. The lyrics deal mostly with spirituality, including the death of a loved one and the end of time. 

The EP's digital release date is on October 11, 2024

I have been lost for so long now in a labyrinth of sorrow. Each turning I take down dusty, shadowed corridors where deceit stalks the darkness with hidden knives, leads only to another waypost on a journey without end. I open doors to find tableaus of heartbreak, sad parades of tears and pageants of loss. Mirrored ballrooms where dancers dressed in silk weep behind smiling masks as they spin beneath a thousand crystal candelabras, their reflections waltzing on into eternity. Chessboard tiles of cold marble chill my bare feet as I slip between the pawns and pass beneath the haughty gaze of bishops and kings with my head bowed, always following the fading echoes of my queen, the whisper of her passing like fading birdsong at twilight. Lost for so long…yet cupped in my hands I carry the flickering flame of hope. It burns low, but it burns still…

Stepping once more from the shadows, Golgotha, Spain’s renowned troubadours of the disconsolate lament, preeminent artisans of doom and desolation, have returned, bearing with them a new album of sombre reflection and measured melodies, tossed upon a tempestuous sea of love and mourning. Opening with the magnificent magisterial gravitas of ‘For Every Tear’, Spreading The Wings Of Hope sees Golgotha sailing proudly onwards under the ever-present guiding hand of guitarist Vicente J. Paya, on a wonderful voyage of musical and emotional discovery.  The deep sadness of first single, ‘Gilded Cage’ brings the band’s signature use of a dual vocal presence to the fore – the lilting understated melodies delivered in such an enthralling manner by María J. Lladó surrendering to the leonine roar of Andrew Spinosa as the two vocalists spin this tale of a hollow, empty relationship.  The masterful marriage of contrasts is key to the Golgotha sound, as towering, resplendent riffs and aching, intimate fragility meet and entwine. ‘Hear Their Cries’ springs from the magical coalescing of powerful rolling rhythms and mellifluous vocal melodies, while ‘Human Vultures’ evolves through resolute heaviness and consuming atmosphere, thrilling dynamics and soul touching beauty. Golgotha are a special band, whose music spans vast vistas of emotional power and they have never sounded more accomplished than they do on Spreading The Wings Of Hope.
