Short Bio: Founded in 2010, Ceremony of Darkness released their debut album "13" which was well received by fans and critics alike. Winning Best Metal/Hardcore Album of the 2010 Independent Music Awards, "13" additionally featured the song "The Surgeon of New Orleans" which was nominated for Best Metal Song in the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Ceremony of Darkness also released "As the Headstones Fade" only to IMA jukeboxes, featuring selected tracks from "13". In 2013, Ceremony of Darkness released "Flesh of the Witch," a conceptual album about a damaged man and his love affair with a woman accused of witchcraft. We are really excited to finally put out a new album. It has been quite a rough time for the band: the lineup has changed which led to the change of the sound of the band, which led to the change of the band name completely. The pandemic took over the world and put all of our plans in slow motion. At times it felt like it had been one step forward and two steps back, so it took us almost four years to make “Devouring Gloom”. But it is finally finished and it seems that with this release we have finally managed to properly channel our creative vision. This darker, more dissonant and chaotic sound felt like a natural evolution of AORTES.

The central themes of the album deal with the struggle of the overwhelming feeling of despair, hopelessness, loneliness - or as we thought of it - a gloom that surrounds and devours you. Sometimes you find the strength to fight it off, other times you admit defeat. But there is always hope.

KRANKHEIT SIGNS WITH WORMHOLEDEATH RECS.

Wormholedeath is honored to announce that Austrian Dark Metal outfit KRANKHEIT have signed a licensing deal with Wormholedeath for their album "Gargantua", which will be released on September 30th, 2022.

After four years, two of them dominated by a pandemic and a challenging anniversary, with internal band restructuring, KRANKHEIT are back with a new album. "Gargantua", the successor to the third work "Zerberus", sings about the dark sides and abysses in a typical KRANKHEIT manner and forms a mirror of the current events of our contemporary history.

It is named after the character Gargantua from the novels by François Rabelais. An insatiable giant who vomits in greed and gluttony on the people and depicts a pastiche of them. KRANKHEIT manage to stay true to their trademarks and at the same time venture into new musical realms. Martially driving guitar riffs as in "Kommunikation" reflect the usual catchy level of hardness of the band. Lyrically, the most important and most burning topic of all at the moment is put to the test here in the programmatically titled piece. Songs like "Gargantua" and "Müll" show that it's becoming even more aggressive in general, which are interspersed with blast beats and shredding guitars. With "Bett des Prokrustes" and "Ave Maria" KRANKHEIT show again that they are masters of their craft and plant themselves excellently in well-known classical compositions. The symbiosis between classic and dark metal is extensively celebrated and driven to extremes by "Neid" with its brutal ending. There are bluesy touches in “Exorzist”, to which Andres Vargas, singer of the black metal band “Thy Antichrist”, lends his haunting voice. The limits of the interpersonal relationship demons get a new face here. "Gargantua" takes the creation of KRANKHEIT to the next level and prepares the ground for an eventful and complex future.

Founded in 2011, the Austrian dark metal band KRANKHEIT are gradually working their way into the metal/goth scene. SHADOWDREAM RELEASE "NOSTALGIA"

 

PRESS RELEASE:

The year 2004 SHADOWDREAM with the idea to explore various musical styles and genres, from NEOCLASSICAL, AMBIENT and finally JAZZ. This was the year while Rastko was still studying music theory in Music High School in Novi Sad, Serbia, prior to which he obtained a degree in violin. In December of 2005, first material DEMO '05 was released, limited to 33 hand numbered copies while the very next month, January of 2006, album SLAVA PERUNU was recorded and published. Soon after, in March of 2006 album BRATSTVO SMRTI, limited to 66 hand numbered copies, was issued. During the summer, Rastko received a degree in music theory and piano/flute at the Music High School. While based in Stockholm on his Master studies in Cinema, Rastko traveled to remote parts of Middle East and and South/Central America in order to learn more about their cultures and gather more inspiration for further work.
