OLDBLOOD RELEASE "ARMS TO THE SKY" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

Oldblood sets December 4th as the international release date for their debut EP "Arms to the Sky"!

Pre-orders, pre-saves & lead single ‘Kuebiko’ launch on the 13th November.

Album track listing is as follows:

01 - Kuebiko

02 - Nuclear Blues

03 - Los Alamos

04 - Alone

"Oldblood are different.... A threatening sound that suits the dark, doleful music perfectly..... A very impressive, very theatrical performance" - Loud Enough Magazine.

"Full-on post-apocalyptic mayhem that was bizarrely uplifting..... boasting extreme levels of solidity in their musicianship and a confidence... a powerful end to a full-on assault of a debut performance!" - Metal Nexus.

"If you want something with a bit more edge, to freeze the blood in your veins and all delivered with a theatrical performance; than pick Oldblood" - Loud Enough Magazine.

Formed in north London in 2018, Oldblood have set about combining the members various musical tastes into one cohesive, blackened monstrosity - merging elements of doom, punk, post-metal and black metal to form a sound that has turned heads since their debut live show supporting OHHMS & Boss Keloid through to supporting doom titans CONAN along with headlining their own shows.

Currently preparing to release their debut EP 'Arms to the Sky' on the 4th December 2020; 'Arms to the Sky' is preceded by the single 'Kuebiko' on the 13th November, expect Oldblood to continue pushing their brand of aural misery as far and as wide as possible.

'Arms to the Sky' is 4 tracks themed around the dropping of the atomic bomb over Hiroshima - both aurally and lyrically. Crushing riffs combined with devastating melodies that paint an agonized picture of life before, during and after the nuclear explosion.

Lead track 'Kuebiko' opens the EP with a crushing riff designed to paint a picture of devastation right off the bat; with the song building to an explosion of its own. The title 'Kuebiko' is actually a Japanese word that translates as "a state of exhaustion inspired by acts of senseless violence, which force you to revise your image of what can happen in this world"

'Nuclear Blues' swaggers out of the gate with a bluesy riff, that descends into a double time frenzy before unraveling into a state of exhaustion. 'Los Alamos' is an atmospheric telling of the story of the creation of the atomic bomb & the final track 'Alone' tells the story of 'She'.

'She' stands alone in the devastation caused by the atomic blast and having lost everything; she wonders what to do with her life.

Oldblood are:

Joey Williams - Guitar & Vocals

Tom Pratt - Guitar & Vocals

Brendan Coles - Bass & Vocals

Lee Barter - Drums

Arms to the Sky was recorded at No Studio & produced by Joe Clayton (Leeched, Pijn, Ithaca, Wren, Mountain Caller)

AZARATH STREAMS NEW TRACK "NO SALVATION"

Poland's death black metal beasts, Azarath, are streaming a new song from their upcoming album, "Saint Desecration", due out November 27 via Agonia Records.  Listen to "No Salvation" below:

The unholy metal congregation is pealing its bells for the third time this decade, announcing the successor of Blasphemers' Maledictions (2011) and In Extremis (2017). Unrepentant and provocative to the core, the album is set to astound the connoisseurs of sonic terror.

Azarath crept from the shadows over two decades ago and is often described as a demonic mutation of Krisiun, Behemoth and Immolation. Co-founded by sole original member and drummer Inferno (of Behemoth fame), the group comprises long-running guitarist Bart (Damnation, Armagedon), long-time bassist Peter (ex-Lost Soul) and new vocalist Skullripper (Embrional).

Saint Desecration was recorded and mixed at Tall Pine Records with Haldor Grundberg (Satanic Audio) at helm and mastered at Audiosiege Studio by Brad Boatright. The cover artwork was painted by Marta Promińska of Hypnagogic Painting.
