PRESS RELEASE:
Deviltook
Heretic Manifesto
Negra Nit, Base Record Production, Abstract Emotions
22 February 2022
With tracks like ‘Against The Modern World’, Deviltook say it all. Since Guti (El Kaso Urkijo) and Gastaroth (Mixomatosis, Irredemption, Pro Septico, Exsanguination Entrails…) got together in 2017 “wanting to do a project in a style they are passionate about”, which is none other than black metal, Deviltook have only been accountable to the Devil, delivering raw songs, which totally flee from overproduction, and which in essence drink from classics of the second wave of the movement, from Norwegian bands like Carpathian Forest, Darkthrone, or Gorgoroth.
It didn’t take long for Manolo (Empanadilla De Pus) to join their circle and release their first promotional track. After that the band suffered a hiatus, but with the arrival of Volundr (Itnuveth) in 2019 to take over the rhythm guitars, Deviltook returned to the sacrificial altar to start working on the compositions of their debut album. When Manolo and Guti left the band, Lacuercus (Inner Darkness) picked up the baton on guitar and Mark Berserk (Aposento, Bizarre, Cult Of Self Destruction...) took over on vocals. Thus, in 2020 they finally released the fierce At War With Gods.
Already with a stable and fully established line-up, Deviltook now present Heretic Manifesto, a praise to occult powers and an invitation to embrace forbidden beliefs. This sect operates from a distance and seems to have no intention of ever taking the stage, so this new work has been recorded from various locations, with Gastaroth at Base Record Studios, Lacuercus at Death Home, Mark at Deathrune Studios, and Volundr at Vethadum. Finally, Heretic Manifesto has been mastered at Grindahäus Studios by Ton Moreno.
Likewise, nobody would say that this band doesn’t rehearse physically, because songs like ‘The Theosophical Awakening’, ‘Pagans Roots’ or ‘Wolves Of Kali Yuga’ sound very incisive, perfectly fulfilling their objective, which is none other than to outrage, blaspheme, contact demonic beings, raze Christianity... And all this, of course, from the simplest, strictest, and purest black metal.
