GOLGOTHA RELEASE "SPREADING THE WINGS OF HOPE"

PRESS RELEASE:

GOLGOTHA – SPREADING THE WINGS OF HOPE

LABEL: ARDUA MUSIC

RELEASE DATE: JUNE 14th 2024

I have been lost for so long now in a labyrinth of sorrow. Each turning I take down dusty, shadowed corridors where deceit stalks the darkness with hidden knives, leads only to another waypost on a journey without end. I open doors to find tableaus of heartbreak, sad parades of tears and pageants of loss. Mirrored ballrooms where dancers dressed in silk weep behind smiling masks as they spin beneath a thousand crystal candelabras, their reflections waltzing on into eternity. Chessboard tiles of cold marble chill my bare feet as I slip between the pawns and pass beneath the haughty gaze of bishops and kings with my head bowed, always following the fading echoes of my queen, the whisper of her passing like fading birdsong at twilight. Lost for so long…yet cupped in my hands I carry the flickering flame of hope. It burns low, but it burns still…

Stepping once more from the shadows, Golgotha, Spain’s renowned troubadours of the disconsolate lament, preeminent artisans of doom and desolation, have returned, bearing with them a new album of sombre reflection and measured melodies, tossed upon a tempestuous sea of love and mourning. Opening with the magnificent magisterial gravitas of ‘For Every Tear’, Spreading The Wings Of Hope sees Golgotha sailing proudly onwards under the ever-present guiding hand of guitarist Vicente J. Paya, on a wonderful voyage of musical and emotional discovery.  The deep sadness of first single, ‘Gilded Cage’ brings the band’s signature use of a dual vocal presence to the fore – the lilting understated melodies delivered in such an enthralling manner by María J. Lladó surrendering to the leonine roar of Andrew Spinosa as the two vocalists spin this tale of a hollow, empty relationship.  The masterful marriage of contrasts is key to the Golgotha sound, as towering, resplendent riffs and aching, intimate fragility meet and entwine. ‘Hear Their Cries’ springs from the magical coalescing of powerful rolling rhythms and mellifluous vocal melodies, while ‘Human Vultures’ evolves through resolute heaviness and consuming atmosphere, thrilling dynamics and soul touching beauty. Golgotha are a special band, whose music spans vast vistas of emotional power and they have never sounded more accomplished than they do on Spreading The Wings Of Hope. Concluding with ‘The Hope As Guide’ with its succinct, sublime guitar solo, haunting final words and climactic finish that leaves the listener in a stunned silence, this album is destined to stand as a towering achievement amongst the storied peaks of Golgotha’s remarkable canon of work…the moment when all their creative possibilities were realised in spectacular fashion.

Sonically crafted to richly textured perfection by the production, mixing and mastering skills of Javier Fernández (Avulsed, Holycide, TodoMal) and adorned in impactful artwork, full of secrets and questions, Spreading The Wings Of Hope will be released on both CD and cassette by Golgotha’s new label, Ardua Music on June 14th. A proud successor to 2022s critically acclaimed Mors Diligentis, Spreading The Wings Of Hope will let you soar on wings of imagination. Once heard it will never be forgotten...

PTHUMULHU RELEASE "TUNGUMÁL SVARTHOLA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Release Date: 23.02.2024

FFO: Abruptum, Wolves in the Throneroom, Swallow the Sun

Location: Iceland

Pthumulhu Unleashes Cosmic Darkness with Debut Album: "Tungumál Svarthola"

Pthumulhu, the emerging force from the icy depths of Iceland's landscapes, announces the release of their highly anticipated debut album, "Tungumál Svarthola." This blackened doom metal opus is set to engulf listeners in a sonic journey through the enigmatic language of black holes and the darkest recesses of the universe.

Formed in 2022 by seasoned members of the Icelandic metal scene, Pthumulhu transcends traditional musical boundaries with a sound as deep and mysterious as the cosmic phenomena that inspire it. Drawing from years of experience in various black, death, and doom metal bands, the members of Pthumulhu unite under a shared vision to create something heavier and more sinister than anything they've previously conjured.

Produced and recorded by D.G. of Misþyrming, "Tungumál Svarthola" is a 42-minute exploration of existential dread, cosmic insignificance, and the beauty found within the embrace of oblivion. Each track on the album channels the chaotic energy and rumblings of the cosmos, delivering a crushing and profound auditory experience that transcends space and time.

Pthumulhu's sound is a dense tapestry of blackened doom metal, interwoven with elements that evoke the vastness and mystery of the cosmos. Guitars weave a heavy, foreboding atmosphere, while drums mimic the pulsations of collapsing stars. Vocals, ranging from screams to growls, serve as a conduit for the pain of celestial bodies ensnared in the death grip of black holes. Through metaphor and imagery, the band's lyrics elevate their music to a form of dark poetry, inviting listeners to ponder their existence against the backdrop of the infinite universe.

"Tungumál Svarthola" is not just an album; it's an auditory journey through the depths of space and the human psyche. Join Pthumulhu as they delve into the cosmic darkness and emerge with a profound understanding of the mysteries that lie beyond.

SATANIC NORTH RELEASE NEW VIDEO "VILLAGE"

PRESS RELEASE:

SATANIC NORTH is what happens when you let two well-known Finnish metal artists stare into the abyss for too long: Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum, Warmen) and Janne Parviainen (Ensiferum) are well-traveled, experienced musicians who have stared into said abyss long enough for the abyss to stare back with interest.

Today, the band is pleased to unleash their eponymous debut full-length via Reaper Entertainment. To celebrate the release, the band presents a music video for "Village.”

Comments the band, "SATANIC NORTH has breached the gates and is out from the darkness to spread the Hatred and Blasphemy to the world. We are really looking forward to hearing your thoughts about our debut album. Check out also the new video for ‘Village.’"

Watch SATANIC NORTH’s “Village” video at THIS LOCATION.

Satanic North is available on CD and vinyl formats. Find order options at: satanicnorth.reaper-band.shop/products

Satanic North came together quickly and effortlessly, exorcized, and recorded during an unholy Summer. "We kept everything very simple and practical. We didn't want to waste too many takes to keep the songs raw and natural," Lindroos explains. "The mix was completed by the Winter solstice and now this beast lies in wait, ready to be unleashed."

Satanic North, which features cover art by Finntroll guitarist and graphic mastermind, Samuli Ponsimaa, is an album storming towards us in the sign of hell, delivering an unrelenting, extreme approach to a genre that has perhaps become a little soft and tender as of late. Lindroos elaborates, "We all have the same vision of black metal, and that vision is: stop the midtempo, let's bring back the blastbeats."

SATANIC NORTH:

Von Occult - vocals

Skomorokh - guitars

IIT Caprae - bass, backing vocals

Abyssir – drums

BLAZING ETERNITY RELEASE "A CERTAIN END OF EVERYTHING"

PRESS RELEASE:

A Certain End Of Everything

by Blazing Eternity

Label: Mighty Music

Tracklist:

1.One Thousand Lights 07:29

2.The Secrets Of White 06:16

3.A Certain End Of Everything 07:09

4.The Ghosts Of Another Broken Life 05:17

5.No Bringer Of Light 05:47

6.Your Mountains Will Drown Again 06:31

7.The Bells 07:41

Danish doom/gothic metal combo Blazing Eternity is back with a new album. “A Certain End Of Everything” – to be released on April 19th 2024 – is the first new album since 2003 from one of Denmark’s pioneer bands within the melodic doom/goth metal genre.

“A Certain End Of Everything” consists of seven new tracks, including the already released first single “One Thousand Lights”. The music has the well known Blazing Eternity atmosphere and fingerprint – a melancholic, epic and atmospheric doom/gothic metal mix with weeping guitars and harsh vocals. The album is bleak and melancholic, but with a certain beauty shining in the darkness – and with very personal lyrics dealing with death, depression, and personal tragedies. But

with a gleam of hope in the end…

Will appeal to fans of early Katatonia, My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost.

“A Certain End Of Everything” was written and arranged by original members Peter Mesnickow, Morten Kroll Lybecker and Lars Riis Korsholm – with additional synth arrangements by Flemming Kaspersen from electronic act Delayscape.

Blazing Eternity was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1993 and released two successful demo tapes in 1996 and 1998 leading to a deal with German Prophecy Productions. This resulted in the two albums ”Times And Unknown Waters” (2000) and ”A World To Drown In” (2003) as well as performances on big festivals such as Roskilde Festival and Wave Gotik Treffen.

After 2004, the band were not active anymore – until 2011/2012 where Blazing Eternity reformed for four concerts in Denmark and Germany.

After this, the band went into hiatus, but secretly started working on new material in 2018. But with big challenges in the process. First the death of vocalist Peter Mesnickow’s long-time wife Lilja, and secondly the death of Blazing Eternity live-keyboardist Jens Hansen. Two events that have affected the new songs a lot – but in the end leading to the brand-new album “A Certain End Of Everything”. to be released in April 2024.

Recorded with Jacob Gundel (Withering Surface, Invocator etc). Mixed and mastered by Markus Stock Schwadorf (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak, Alcest, etc), who also produced the first two albums by Blazing Eternity.

Blazing Eternity is confirmed for Metal Magic Festival (DK) and Næstved Metal Fest (DK) in 2024, but more live performances will be announced later.

“I absolutely loved to mix and master this album of my old friends Blazing Eternity. Not just because of reasons of nostalgia but because it is an absolutely beautiful and soulful album that lives in the past and the here and now“ (Markus Stock Schwadorf)

LEGIONARY RELEASE "PRISON REALM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Bronx-based, one-man Melodic Death/Thrash Band Legionary will release new EP, Prison Realm, on June 14.

A lyric video for the EP's first single, the title track, is available at: youtu.be/uOTMEktzevw

The single can be accessed on all major digital platforms by visiting the following link: ditto.fm/prison-realm

Legionary main man Frank D'Erasmo issued the following statement about the new EP:

"For years, I’ve been wanting to have a clean singer on a Legionary record. As my melodies continued to get better, it just seemed like the next logical progression for me to take. I did everything else that I wanted to musically (write an 11-minute epic, write multiple brutal/epic EPs), so it just seemed like the right time. This new EP features Chris Clancy, vocalist of Mutiny Within, so fans of his work should love this EP. The first three tracks are brand new and mix the past brutal elements of Legionary with a new proggy feel, as well as the clean vocals. The melodies on this EP are my strongest yet, and I truly believe people will find that these tracks have a lot of replay value! The final track is a remake of an old Legionary song (the title track from our one and only album, Arcane Divisions). The original recording was less than stellar, but we always loved the track, so re-recording it felt like a great idea. This EP blends the new with the old!" - Frank D'Erasmo

BIO:

Legionary is a death/thrash/melodic metal band, originally formed in The Bronx. Legionary once played live regularly, but is now a one-man band headed by mastermind Frank D'Erasmo (Drums/Rhythm Guitars/Main Composer). Frank uses the services of some of the best metal musicians in the Tri-State area, and is currently dedicated to doing studio projects only at the moment.

The band was established in 2007 by Frank. Although Frank put an album to works immediately, it wasn't until early 2010 that a complete line-up had been achieved.

Legionary's self-titled demo was released in September of 2010, and quickly received high praise amongst New York and New Jersey metalheads. The demo includes two original tracks, "Deceiver" and "Awakening Reprisal." The performance earned Frank the honor of being enlisted on "Sick Drummer Magazine" the website.

Legionary's full length debut album titled Arcane Divisions (later remixed/remastered in late 2014) was released on iTunes in April 2012. It consists of 10 pulverizing tracks, each of which has their own identity. The album continues where the demo left off, but this time punishes you for nearly 50 minutes with riff after riff.

On April 16, 2013, Legionary released a 4 song EP titled Path Of Tyranny. The songs are politically themed, average around 4 minutes, and feature a new tuning for the band. The songs are in D standard tuning, which is a change from their usual C standard tuning. Regardless of the higher tuning, these songs are quite possibly Legionary's most intense to date, and feature a more thrashy/"epic" feel. The goal this time around was to have a more modern sounding mix.

The Once And For All EP, released in May of 2014, raised the bar even higher. These are the most mature and most technical Legionary songs ever, and feature the return of ex-lead guitarist Tony Barhoum, and newcomer Mike Dreher (Bassist for Condition Critical & Lich King).

The trend continues to this day, as Legionary looks to push their musical abilities to their limits on each release!

BORGTÅRN RELEASE "SORTE MAKT"

PRESS RELEASE:

Release Date: April 2024

FFO: Drowning the Light, Black Cilice, Lampir, Grogaldr, Fless

Location: Norway

Borgtårn Unleashes Harrowing New Album "Sorte Makt" — A Return to the Black Metal Abyss

Emerging from the deep and chilling landscapes of Norway, the enigmatic black metal band Borgtårn is proud to announce the release of their latest album, "Sorte Makt." Available this April via Humanity's Plague Productions, "Sorte Makt" promises to be a relentless journey into the heart of darkness, true to the spirit of Norwegian black metal.

Drawing on influences such as Drowning the Light, Black Cilice, Lampir, Grogaldr, and Fless, Borgtårn has crafted an album that is both a tribute and a fresh exploration of the genre. Known for their raw, lo-fi sound, the band delivers an assault of relentless rhythms, piercing riffs, and an atmosphere filled with desolation and despair.

"Sorte Makt" channels the essence of black metal's early days in Norway, a time when music was as cold and merciless as the winter nights of Scandinavia. Through "Sorte Makt," Borgtårn weaves melancholic melodies with venomous aggression, creating a soundtrack for those who find beauty in the bleakest of realms.

The album's themes delve into the struggles between light and darkness, exploring the depths of human despair and the quest for meaning in a seemingly indifferent universe. With "Sorte Makt," Borgtårn not only embraces the legacy of their forebears but also pushes the boundaries of what black metal can be.

Experience the haunting power of "Sorte Makt" this April. The album will be available for purchase at Humanity's Plague Productions and streaming through Borgtarn.bandcamp.com. Immerse yourself in the dark artistry of Borgtårn, where the spirit of Norwegian black metal lives on.
