EVERY HOUR KILLS RELEASE NEW TRACK: "INTRANSIGENT"

Calgary, Canada’s Every Hour Kills have a new single “Intransigent” off their upcoming EP “Vacua".

This will be the fourth EP from the band and it shows definitive evolution being five of the heaviest tracks the group has ever written. They have almost done away with clean vocals in favour of deep growling provided by newcomer Jei Doublerice, and downplay the synth bits and cranking the riffs to 11. This new phase fits Every Hour Kills’ motive of being “a constantly evolving musical collective; guest vocalists and soloists across the songs bring their own unique artistry and elevate the collective impact of Every Hour Kills’ brand”. Guitarist Sacha Laskow continues to explain the single:

“This song was co-written with Calle Thommer (Vildjharta, Humanity’s Last Breath), and is probably the heaviest thing I’ve ever written. He helped shape things in a more down-tempo direction, while I added in the synth layers and more melodic aspects, as well as the breakdown based on where his ideas were taking me. Jei came in and absolutely crushed it with one of the most intense vocal performances on the record.”

Chosen to close out the EP, “Intransigent” as the most intense track finalizes this step in Every Hour Kills' growth to a heavier version of their former selves. The lyrics encompass the concepts of chaos and infinity and while it still retains the djenty progressive vibes of modern metal, it begins pushing the envelope with a wider range of sounds, influences and emotions.

The dark cinematic juxtaposing angular heaviness with soaring melody of “Intransigent” is recommended for fans of Periphery, Vildhjarta, and Spiritbox

The Yaroslavl group Stozhar was formed in 2005. Initially, it consisted of two people: Yarosvet and Elena Lebedeva. At the same time the first demo "Pagan Rus" was recorded. In 2007, Elena Lebedeva left the group.

In 2009, the full lineup of the group was recruited, and the team began rehearsals, and then give their first concerts. During the period 2009-2010, Stozhar performed on the same stage with such teams as Krynitsa, Grandchildren of Svyatoslav, Ros, Nebyro, Yaros, Rigorism and others.

In 2010, new changes are coming in the composition, which is finally completed. Work begins on recording a full-length album.

In 2011, the group ceases to perform for six months. At the beginning of 2012, she resumes active concert activity. The team performs in various cities of the central part of Russia and shares the stage with such bands as Negură Bunget, Butterfly Temple, Nevid, Rarog, Path of the Sun, Kalevala, Stigmatic Chorus, Skolot, Smut, Krada, Oprich, Izmoroz, Emerald Night, Vedan Kolod and many others.

The recording of the album is delayed due to adjustments in the sound; live folk instruments are being recorded. The album, titled "Not One Step Back", is out on Stygian Crypt Productions in April 2013. A number of concerts are held in support of the album. In 2014, the group begins recording the second full-length album "Glory to Perun", which is later released on the Stygian Crypt Productions label. In the process of recording the album "Glory to Perun", the next line-up changes take place, and the guitarist Evgeniy leaves the group. But despite the problems with the line-up, the group is actively performing both in Russia and abroad. In 2015, preparations begin for the recording of the third full-length album, which will be somewhat different from the previous ones - the lyrics completely belong to the pen of the poet Mrak Mstivoy, with whom the group begins to work on the album "Glory to Perun", there are even more live instruments, a live accordion, flutes are recorded, bagpipes, etc. In 2016, the album "Hammer of Thunderstorms in the Twilight of Battles" is released, which continues the stylistic line of the collective. Active performances continue. In 2019, the album "Cold of battles into the arms of winter" is released, which becomes somewhat different in sound - more atmospheric and technical. The lyrics continue to be written by the Darkness of the Avenger. When designing this release, the group begins to collaborate with the Rybinsk artist Lyubov Sherstneva. The album received high marks from listeners. In 2020, the group released a number of singles, and also began work on a new full-length album.

SARGASSUS RELEASE "TIAMAT" SINGLE

Sargassus is a progressive metal band from Finland that combines elements from black metal, post-metal, progressive metal and death metal in their music. All members of the band live and practice in the city of Tampere in the southern Finland.

Sargassus was established in 2012 when the drummer Matias Rokio and the guitarist Teemu Leskinen started playing together. As years went by, the two started to find their musical connection and the band started to find its unique sound and atmosphere. The band’s first release, ”The Giant” EP was composed over a period of years and finalized during 2020 when the vocalist Matias Stenman joined the band. 

In the beginning of 2021 the band found themselves a new permanent bass player, Mohammad ”Aelian” Hallaji, from Rokio’s other band. The single ’Tiamat’ was composed and written during the late 2020 and 2021 and it showcases the band’s unique mixture of black metal -style vocals and progressive and dynamic instrumental compositions that create the band’s atmospheric expression. Thematically the band draws its inspiration from inexplicable psychedelic weirdness as well as from general Finnish melancholy, thus honoring their country of origin.

The next goals for Sargassus are to write and release new music and to begin their live shows as the live events start to pick up again. Also, releasing a full-length album is definitely one big goal for the band in the future!

UNDEAD RE-RELEASE "EXISTENTIAL HORROR"

 UNDEAD are a dedicated horde of Spanish Death Metal fiends who truly understand and embody all that Death Metal should be. While making a bit of noise in Europe in 2019, the 2020 pandemic derailed the bands plans for touring and continued promotion of their debut full length, Existential Horror. Although, to their credit, that didn't stop them from selling out of vinyl!

What we have here is Death Metal for the sake of Death Metal. It's important to understand that UNDEAD are not interested in reinventing the genre for the next decade, they are only interested in honoring Death Metal's rituals and lore by creating audible horror complimented by visual dread. If not being innovative makes them 'run-of-the-mill' or 'stuff you've heard before' than I suggest you go listen to another type of music. If fans really were hungry for something super different there wouldn't be hundreds of Entombed clones that are doing well. Bands like UNDEAD do it out of pure love and passion for the music and are still able to put their own stamp on it without sounding like any clone. This is DEATH METAL for TRUE Death Metal fans!

In the year of the Serpent, 2013 of human era, with the experience of their previous lives and the hunger of the dead, the UNDEAD resurrected and rose from their graves in order to hunt, haunt and drink the blood of the living.

In 2015, the band began spreading their disease with Blood Enemy as their first attack, a weapon of mass destruction in the shape of a 7" vinyl limited to 333 copies. Two songs of death cult to bring to the known world to depths beyond sickness, nightmares and madness. In 2016, they returned to haunt mankind with a new abomination called Redemption, consisting of four tracks produced by UNDEAD and mastered at Necromorbus Studio (Sweden).

By 2019, the UNDEAD were prepared to dive into the deepest horrors of the human mind and soul to manifest nine vile tunes for their first full length offering of Existential Horror!! The album was originally released on CD (God of War Productions) and a very limited Vinyl run that sold out. While the global pandemic of 2020 halted the band's promising conquest, the UNDEAD are now ready to resurrect and manifest as a live act of horror and death on their first tour in 2022.
