SORROWSPHERE RELEASE "THE WIZARD OF DOOM"

PRESS RELEASE:

The dark atmospheres, the slow rhythms, and the heavy sounds of SORROW SPHERE, a Calabrian Epic Doom Metal band, are back. The follow-up to their debut album "Demonotheism", released in 2024, is "The Wizard of Doom", a 30-minute EP that will be released digitally on June 12th via Club Inferno Entertainment.

Ernesto "Doomlord" Menga, the project's mastermind, remains from the original lineup. Giuseppe "Buzz" Nicolò of MEMORIES OF A LOST SOUL has joined him on the new material.

"The Wizard Of Doom" marks a return to the darker and deeper Doom sounds that characterized SORROW SPHERE in the late 90s when the band formed, updated however with a more modern and mature sound thanks to the expert production of Lost Soul Studios, owned by the same Giuseppe "Buzz" Nicolò.

Driven by aggressive riffing, melodic lead work, and dark pagan atmospheres, “Oblivion” captures the band’s distinctive fusion of melodic death metal ferocity, symphonic arrangements, and evocative folk elements. The playthrough video offers an up-close look at the intricate guitar interplay and dynamic songwriting that shape Kosmogonia’s sound - balancing mythological grandeur with modern extreme metal intensity.

Formed in Athens in 2015, Kosmogonia have steadily established themselves within the European folk and melodic death metal scene through a sound deeply rooted in ancient mythology, pagan traditions, and epic storytelling. Their second full-length album, “Aella,” received strong praise across Europe and Latin America, earning recognition from Metal Hammer Portugal and expanding the band’s international visibility. Through Rockshots Records, the album now reaches a broader international audience while the band simultaneously works on new material for its next studio chapter.

Set in 350 B.C., “Aella” tells a tragic story of war, destiny, and forbidden emotion following the encounter between the Scythian princess Aella and the Greek mercenary Lykon during a brutal conflict between civilizations. Across the album, Kosmogonia combine dual vocal dynamics, atmospheric flute passages, layered orchestrations, and modern melodic death metal aggression into a powerful and immersive listening experience.

For fans of Eluveitie, Ensiferum, Epica, and Nightwish.

Biography

Formed in Athens in 2015, Kosmogonia fuse folk melodies and symphonic textures with the ferocity of melodic death metal. Founders Kostas Magalios (guitar/vocals) and Christos Drosos (guitar) debuted with the demo “Fallen Pegasus” and, later that year, a self-released EP. After a stylistic shift in 2017 marked by the single “Triiris,” the band built momentum through Greek festival appearances and international radio play. Their debut album, titled "Enthrone the Gods," released in 2020, earned a 9.1/10 average review score, a Metal Hammer Portugal mention, and multiple chart placements across Europe and Latin America. Despite the pandemic, Kosmogonia accepted an invitation to Hammer Fest XIV in Birmingham - rescheduled to February 2023 - and delivered a standout performance at the O₂ Academy alongside genre stalwarts such as Lordi and Primordial. Now five years on from their formation, the band returned with "Aella" (January 2025), expanding their epic scope with richer orchestrations and guest folk instruments. With strong international press, radio support, and a dedicated fanbase, Kosmogonia stands poised for extensive touring and further mythic adventures.

AETERE RELEASE "THEOGONIE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Band: Aetere

Album: Theogonie

Release Date: June 5th, 2026

Country: France

Label: Octopus Rising

Genre: Doom Metal

Aetere: A Sonic Odyssey Through Shadows and Symbolism

Aetere is a French doom-metal duo formed in Bordeaux in 2017, crafting slow-burning, ritualistic compositions steeped in myth. Guided by melancholy and introspection, the project stands at the crossroads of ancient narratives and contemporary sonic experimentation.

On guitar, bass, and vocals, Alice Ronzini brings a background forged in France’s garage-punk underground (La Secte du Futur, JC Satan), later expanded into more ethereal territories through her spectral folk solo project Ailise Blake. Alongside her, Johan Sebenne shapes Aetere’s immersive sound through synths, bass, and machines, layering droney riffs and textured atmospheres informed by his work with the acclaimed post-metal ensemble Year of No Light, his ambient electro-acoustic solo project Lacustre, and earlier collaborations with Nexus Sun, Acid Bonanga, and Géographie.

The project took shape in Bordeaux, where the duo composed and recorded the six tracks that would become their debut album, Théogonie. Johan relocated to Paris and initiated the mixing process just as the global lockdown unfolded. Meanwhile, Alice moved to the rural landscapes of La Drôme, placing the project into a quiet, suspended state. When they reunited after the lockdown, Aetere awakened again: the two resumed work on the album, with Alice completing the final mix in her newly built Studio 418.

The result is a masterful exploration of doom metal's heavier edges, softened by shoegaze haze and post-punk grit.

Musically, Aetere draws inspiration from luminaries like Warning, Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and Earth, merging funeral tempos, shoegaze haze and monolithic riffs.

Alice's lyrics, steeped in literary grandeur, evoke the visionary poetry of William Blake's Auguries of Innocence, the epic turmoil of John Milton's Paradise Lost (Book 1), and the mythic narratives of Dante Alighieri, Ovid, and Homer. Themes of innocence, mortality, and transcendence pulse through the album, inviting profound reflection.

Théogonie features artwork by Mal De Siglos and layout design by Lucia Macip, perfectly encapsulating the band's ethereal aesthetic.

Mastered by the legendary Dirk Serries (known for his work in Vidna Obmana, Fear Falls Burning, and Yodok III), the album achieves a polished yet primal resonance.

Released via Italy's Argonauta Records—a powerhouse in stoner, doom, and sludge—the record marks Aetere's triumphant entry into the global heavy music sphere.

LANGUISH IN DESPAIR RELEASE NEW SINGLE "KILLING SPREE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Canadian/Australian death metal unit LANGUISH IN DESPAIR have officially unleashed their latest slab of brutality, “Killing Spree,” now available worldwide via CDN Records. The track arrives as a full force statement ahead of their upcoming full-length album Strain of Profanity , set for release May 21, 2026.

This is not cleaned up, not softened, and not built for comfort. This is death metal stripped down to the bone.

Built on a foundation of pure hostility and minimalist extremity, LANGUISH IN DESPAIR operate as a two-piece with zero interest in polish, trends, or accessibility. What you get is raw execution, fast impact, and absolute underground intent. No filler. No gloss. No mercy.

The project features Jason, known for his work with Human Barbecue and Putrified J, alongside his transcontinental counterpart Marcel. Together they lock into a shared vision of relentless aggression, trading finesse for force and atmosphere for straight violence.

“Killing Spree” wastes no time. Blistering percussion, razor edged guitar tone, and guttural vocal delivery collide in a track that feels less like it was written and more like it was released into the world fully formed and fully hostile. It hits hard and keeps hitting harder.

With Strain of Profanity , the duo pushes that same philosophy into a full length assault built on chainsaw intensity, suffocating speed, and no interest in compromise. It is designed to punish speakers and listeners alike.

Two countries. One mission. Total death metal devastation.

ABOUT LANGUISH IN DESPAIR

LANGUISH IN DESPAIR is a Canadian/Australian two-piece forged in raw aggression and stripped down extremity. Featuring Jason and Marcel, the project removes anything unnecessary and leaves only riffs, speed, and anger. No gimmicks. No image games. Just pure underground death metal delivered without compromise.

“Killing Spree” is out now via CDN Records.

Strain of Profanity arrives May 21, 2026 via CDN Records.
