WITNESSES TO RELEASE "THE COLLAPSE"

PRESS RELEASE:

The ever-prolific WITNESSES are proud to announce the October 31 release of expansive Doom-rock gem The Collapse. The title track is available now at witnesses-nyc.bandcamp.com/track/the-collapse

The follow up to Doom II, The Collapse sees WITNESSES extending its doom rock styles into even darker territory on this outing. Drawing influence on the melancholy down-tuned guitar harmonies of 90s British doom, but adding more traditional rock elements, soaring vocals layer on dirges to tell a story of great distress and questions unanswered.

Pre-order: witnesses-nyc.bandcamp.com/album/the-collapse

Formed in 2016 by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Greg Schwan, the goal of WITNESSES has always been and continues to be the creation of evocative music in multiple genres. All principle writing and arrangement on The Collapse was handled by Schwan, with vital contributions provided by session musicians, accompanied by art and design that complements the lyrical concepts. As of 2021, WITNESSES has explored cinematic ambient, doom metal, pop, and dark folk via six albums, an EP and four singles.

“But, obviously, a narrator cannot take account of these differences of outlook. His business is only to say: ‘This is what happened,’ when he knows that it actually did happen…”

PUTREVORE RELEASE "MIASMAL MONSTROSITY"

PRESS RELEASE:

PUTREVORE started back in May 2004 as a project band from Dave Rotten (AVULSED/ HOLYCIDE/ CHRIST DENIED) and Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER/ RIBSPREADER/ GRISLY) with the intention of creating a very heavy, dark, putrid and primitive Death Metal band totally inspired in some of the most brutal acts from the late '80s and early '90s. Nothing new, nothing original, just keeping the spirit alive!

The chosen name was DEADBREATH and it was going to be Riky, drummer in AVULSED, who was going to take care of the drumming duties. However, in late summer 2007, the band's name was changed into PUTREVORE after seeing that another Swedish band emerged later with a similar moniker, so to avoid possible mistakes, a more brutal name was chosen which suits much better the band's style.

From 2004 to 2007, Rogga was slowly writing a total of 8 songs that would embody the band's debut album, but due to the lack of time, Riky was not able to work on the drum parts and it was David Ekevarn (Davve), a friend from Rogga who accepted to record the drums as a session member. This was in November 2007 and in December, Dave Rotten added vocals in Madrid. The debut album "Morphed From Deadbreath" was finally mixed and mastered during April 2008 and released in September 2008 through Xtreem Music.

Four years passed until in early 2012 a second album was started to be recorded, this time with Brynjar Helgetun on session drums. The "Macabre Kingdom" album was initially released on 12"LP vinyl in July of the same year, followed by a CD version in late October, both on Xtreem Music. An extra song was recorded on the same sessions which would be used later on for a split 7" EP with Mexicans PUTREFACT, out in January 2014 through german label Unholy Prophecies Records.

In early 2015, a new album was started to be recorded, again with Brynjar Helgetun on drums and this time it was entirely mixed and mastered by Dave Rotten at his own Sanctuary Studios for a release in October of the same year, again by Xtreem Music. The title of this album was “Tentacles of Horror”, and again an extra song was recorded which was later used on another split 7” EP with dutch GRIM FATE out in March 2019 through Dawnbreed Records.

A new album was written and recorded during 2020, once again with Brynjar Helgetun on drums and this time the album was mixed at his own Brainjar Studios, being finished in April 2021. “Miasmal Monstrosity”, which is arguably the heaviest and most brutal album by PUTREVORE so far, will be released in October 2021 again through Xtreem Music on CD, 12” LP, Cassette & digital formats.

ASHES OF REDEMPTION RELEASE "WASHED IN BLOOD (W.I.B.)" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

ASHES OF REDEMPTION has released their new EP Washed in Blood (W.I.B)

Re-energizing the groove metal genre, ASHES OF REDEMPTION is a one-man band spearheaded by Justin Buell and based out of Detroit, MI.

Recorded with multiple different session artists from all around the world, located in countries such as Italy, India, and Indonesia, W.I.B was written and produced by Justin Buell who also undertook guitar and bass tracking. The theme of the music is forcing yourself to persevere through some of life's darkest moments. Channelling his own experiences from his time in the Marine Corps Infantry which included two deployments to Iraq during the war, Buell pours this inspiration into his music. In particular, “By Design” was written from a war veterans’ perspective.

“Rotten” is about losing the ability to communicate with people. It deals with grief and wanting to confide in someone but being unable to, resulting in a body and mind that feel foreign. The song highlights the fact that we continue on without help despite the destruction is causes.

“By Design” deals with the physical and metal pain of war. It starts with a physical injury, which leads to questioning if it was worth it. When the physical pain heals the mental pain still remains. The song speaks of the struggles that brings and the ultimate demise in this particular case.

“W.I.B.” is about losing innocence. Once lost it refers to the grind of opening wounds and repairing them ultimately creating an offensive on others. A sort of defence mechanism. Destroy in blood or feel defeat.

“Unscathed” is a song about having to pull the plug on a loved one. It deals with the struggles a person in that position goes through and how everyone involved is touched in some way. No one leave unscathed.
