Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the signing of Atlanta, Georgia’s highly experimental, progressive death metal band, Dååth.
“After 12 years on hiatus, we agreed that if we’re bringing DÅÅTH back, we’re doing it right. That’s why we’re so excited to announce that we’ve signed to our dream label, Metal Blade! From day one, they understood and backed our vision for the future, have an inextinguishable passion for the genre, an incredible staff, and are one of the reasons Metal is on the map and thriving. We’re excited to add to the growing metal history Slagel & Co have forged with unstoppable determination. DÅÅTH signing to Metal Blade couldn’t be a better pairing – we’re taking this to its full potential, letting nothing and nobody stand in our way. If you’re not going all out, what’s the point?” – Dååth

The band began their journey in 1999 and stayed busy for just over a decade before taking a hiatus in 2011. In that time, Dååth released 4 studio albums (Futility – self-released 2004, The Hinderers – Roadrunner Records 2007, The Concealers – Century Media 2009, Dååth – Century Media 2010) and toured throughout the world with band’s like Dark Funeral, Naglfar, Zyklon, Dragonforce, Goatwhore, Chimaira, Throwdown, Dying Fetus, and Devildriver making a lasting impression with the metal community and its many subgenres. Dååth also landed a coveted spot on Ozzfest playing before tens of thousands of fans in outdoor amphitheaters across the US in addition to the infamous and long-running metal tour, Summer Slaughter.
In their time, Dååth managed to create an extensive fanbase worldwide with their unique brand of experimental death metal, which makes it no surprise that the metal community lit up once rumors of the band’s return began to surface online. The metal community only continued to buzz with support as members began making posts teasing new material. The metal world made it clear they were ready for the return of one of the strongest progressive death metal bands of the first part of the 00′s.
Dååth is now back with an updated lineup and stronger than ever, which can be heard in the group’s new single “No Rest No End” that will see digital release by Metal Blade Records on February 22, 2023. The track features guest solos by Rafael Trujillo (Obsidious, ex-Obscura, instagram.com/rafaeltrujillo_official) and Spiro Dussias (instagram.com/spirodussias) and was mixed by Jens Bogren (Sepultura, At The Gates, Kreator, Dimmu Borgir), Mastered by Tony Lindgren (Enslaved, Katatonia, Leprous, Wardruna), with Vocal Production by Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Motionless In White, Wage War), and Engineering by John Douglass (Megadeth, Alluvial, The Contortionist). Fans can expect to hear the next stage in evolution of Dååth‘s brand of melodic and progressive death metal.
“‘No Rest No End’ is the reason DÅÅTH is back.” comments guitarist Eyal Levi. “When the writing began, I was looking for proof that we still had it. The last thing I want to do is put out music that sounds like a bad cover of our back catalog. When this song came together, it was clear that we needed to see this through. ‘No Rest No End’ is the pinnacle of everything I’ve wanted to do with this band and features our full lineup firing on all cylinders: crushing riffs, orchestrated to the max, an infectious chorus, insane solos, my favorite metal drummer, baroque insanity, signature clean guitars, and an incredible mix. It’s the most ambitious song we’ve ever written or recorded and we’re just getting started. Enjoy!“
Vocalist Sean Z adds, “The first time I heard ‘No Rest No End’ in demo form, I was blown away! I immediately knew exactly what I wanted to do vocally. The words practically flew off the page. During every step of the creation process, the song was an obvious masterpiece. It’s meant to be heard, and it’s meant to be played loud!“
Jesse Zuretti who handles orchestration, synth, and guitar says that “‘No Rest No End’ is what happens when everyone involved pushes themselves to their extremes. In metal, we often pride ourselves on how difficult something is to master – and this song is the pinnacle to that thought. We all showed up at our very best to make ‘No Rest No End’ our masterpiece. From the orchestration standpoint, we took this to cinematic & baroque levels in one song. The guitars were also deeply challenging and equally fulfilling to track. Not to mention the Michelin rated guest solos.” While the band’s new drummer Krimh calls it “a furious ride with the perfect title, ‘No Rest No End.’ At least that’s how I feel while playing this song. From a drumming perspective – you better get your running shoes on because this track makes you work hard! It has fast double bass, blast beats and a ton of groovy parts. It is definitely one of our strongest songs and with its many layers you will find new things each time you listen to it.“
Like the prehistoric dunkleosteus, Ignominious is a horror from the deep. They thrive in the darkest, abysmal waters where the pressure is so intense that you have a completely different take on what constitutes heaviness. What many consider to be the heaviest of heavy metal, Ignominious shrugs off like dust motes

After a hiatus, 2022 saw the band regroup to release their 3rd full length album "The Decline". Written during some of the bleaker periods in the band's lifespan, the album sees a darker and more aggressive sound added to the formula. Featuring themes of depression and mental illness, all set in the landscape of sci-fi lore that permeated their last album. "The Decline" is a collection of songs that delves into the downfall and self-destruction of a person.

Mothflesh returns to release their latest album, "Machine Eater". Self-described as the bands "true-form",Mothflesh has done away with fitting their sound intoboxes and forged the 10 song release through asmattering of influences.
The album is a patchwork of borrowed elements, Infusingdiscordant down-tempo chugging from early metalcorebands of the likes of Converge and Poison The Well withthe modern death metal aggression of Decapitated andthe technical edge of Cynic and Carbomb. Machine Eaterwill tick all your boxes if you're looking for a contemporarydropped-tuned neck cruncher with a distinct East Asian sound and a third-world attitude.

Video to the “The Lotus Denial” song premiered at BlankTV.
Mixed and mastered by Simone Pietroforte of Divergent Studios who cooperated in the bands with such bands as Nønviable, Shamash or Exhuminator.
Band commentary about lyrical theme: “Inspired by the state of culture and technology that beckons the doomsday clock to tick forward; Machine Eater is a dystopian love letter written to the modern metal listeners who are exhausted by the sterile, neon-gated vista of the perceived future. Mothflesh's interpretation of the state of aggressive music is a battery-powered monolith built upon the bedrock of Death Metal and propelled with the artery-pumping surge of Modern Hardcore. The ashen coated lyrics were anecdotes borne out of the South Asian smokestack of exploitation and capitalism tongued in a hybridisation of English and Bahasa. Voiced through Oriental modalities and pulsed on a Carnatic heartbeat, Machine Eater is Mothflesh's 40 minute, 10 song slaved vision of the future.”
Band commentary about composing upcoming album: "The compositional process of our first single The Lotus Denial is the quintessential example of how Machine Eater was assembled through the course of 2021. The inspiration for the main hook draws it's dissonance voicing from traditional death metal, akin to Bolt Throweror Obituary. We follow this with a melodic counter melody based on the Hirajoshi scale. This hybrid application of both dissonant and minor scales are the taproot for how Mothflesh forms its voicing and riffs. Upon completion of the main riff, we composed some fundamental drum lines to provide context to the song's intensity and focus on the verse which acts as another anchorpoint. When utilising extended range guitars with strings tuned to Drop A, we felt that the Djentification was inevitable. The combination of intense main hooks and bouncy-castle-headbang verses provide another example for how the band utilises the concept of tension and release in its songcrafting. Once the framework for the drums were completed, the track was sent over to Naman Sachdev through fiverr to re-build the drum lines based on our foundation and his vision.".

Ukraine's Ethnic Groove/Death Metal band ARHAT have released official music video for Freedom! The song was taken from the band's powerful debut full-length album Dead Life, released last year.
Band comments on Freedom: "We are the band Arhat and we present a music video for the song Freedom from our debut album Dead Life, which was released in December 2020. We chose it not by chance, we consider this song iconic. Freedom is the most valuable thing. This is what we have at the genetic level. Without freedom, any thing is worthless. But at the same time, freedom is everything. Freedom to choose, to be who you are, to live by your own rules. Many thanks to everyone who took part in the creation process! Special thanks to Sergei Subbotin for professionalism, Ruslan Seferov for sincere emotions and positivity, Dmitry Kim for drive drums!"
Arhat, the groove metal band from Kyiv, Ukraine, will release the debut album, named Dead Life, on December 23! The album is marked by the band's aggressive sound and oriental melodies. An interesting feature is female vocals, which can be heard in the songs Mantra and Arhat. Another interesting ingredient is percussion, which emphasizes the oriental elements in the sound of the band (the songs Outcast and Arhat). The musical fundament is mix of groove, death and hardcore.
When it comes to the lyrics, some of the songs (Danger of Death, Outcast, Dead Life, Freedom, Maximalism) are ironic reflection of our rough times, and the other ones, namely Arhat, Stately Ruins and Mantra, contain plots from mythology and history of oriental peoples.
The Single "Outcast" can be found HERE at Arhat's YouTube channel.

Unleashing their new album “Ascend To The Throne” this past July via Head Rattle Productions INC., Vancouver's Saints of Death are sharing with fans their new lyric video for the track "Watching Me Die" (Check below). The song is about the destruction of the Earth by corporate greed.
"Watching You, Me, humanity, and Mother Earth die to the hands of unjust corporations and tyrannical governments." adds the band.
For fans of Pantera, DevilDriver, and Arch Enemy, you can check out Saints of Death's new lyric video with its double bassist assault.
Saints of Death's new album “Ascend To The Throne” is a 7 track ripping and cohesive released and the second in the Saints of Death repertoire following the 2015 self-titled EP. With a different lineup than the debut effort, Saints of Death now boasts a more robust group that is tighter, more aggressive, and more melodic than ever before along with still featuring their signature sound of having two bassists.
The band comments:
"This album has been a long time coming, and we look forward to getting it into the ears of our fans, new and old alike. After dealing with line up issues for a few years, we finally have a solid line up and are back to kicking ass. The current line up has been together since 2018 and we have really gelled as friends and as band members. Naturally, with this kind of chemistry going on, it was finally time to record a new album.
Like the first EP, there is diversity between each song, allowing each of them to stand out as hard-hitting singles. There is also the consistency that allows the songs to come together as a great album. We talk about important topics such as the trials of society, corruption and corporate greed, mental health as well as a few other topics on this album. Saints put a lot of hard work and passion crafting this album and making it what it is and we're excited to share it with the world!"
"Ascend To The Throne" is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

Dynamic, heavy as hell, catchy, and uncompromising, it is everything that the band's longtime faithful have come to expect from the deadly unit, and is clearly the product of a lot of hard work by vocalist Chris Barnes, guitarists Jack Owen and Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell and drummer Marco Pitruzzella.
Tracked at various studios including Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida, which over the years has played host to the likes of AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Aerosmith amongst others, it was produced, engineered and mixed by Chris Carroll, who has given it a full and chunky feel. The album's mastering was handled by Chaz Najjar at Badlands Recording in Denver, Colorado. The finished product comes packaged in artwork by Luke Hunter and is packed with songs that will sound great live, and will sit comfortably alongside the classics already filling out their set lists, helping to drive the band ever closer to their fourth decade of existence.
Chris Barnes (vocals) comments: "Working again after 25 years writing an album with my old band mate from Cannibal Corpse, Jack Owen, was like coming home...To a room full of dead bodies. Jack's writing and riff work on this album gave me the fuel to write some disturbing lyrics and really set my creative mind on fire."
