Industrial extreme metal pioneers An Axis of Perdition are proud to unveil the highly anticipated music video for their latest track, "I Am Odium", from their critically acclaimed album Apertures, out now on Apocalyptic Witchcraft.

The dark and haunting video was directed by award-winning filmmaker Randal Plunkett, whose vision brings the track’s themes of self-destruction and creation to life. "Having been asked to come up with a storyline for a narrative video for the song, I wanted to create something that resonated with some of the themes off the album," Plunkett explains. "One of the central themes was self-destruction. Self-destruction was a catalyst that led to the idea of creation, and being poisoned by the jealousy of others. This is the inciting incident that propels the creation's journey."

The video follows a toymaker whose creation ultimately saves him, symbolizing the redemption that art can bring to the creator. Plunkett continues, "The irony of the story is that the toymaker’s creation saves him and ultimately leads to him being recreated. Ultimately, being saved by your art is often what can be the defining difference that keeps creators and artists going. I hope that this notion resonates through the video, and I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with An Axis of Perdition and Apocalyptic Witchcraft, a collective of voices who should be heard."

The band, known for their experimental blend of industrial and extreme metal, has been on a transformative journey since their formation in the early 2000s. Drawing inspiration from mental illness and the eerie atmosphere of their hometown, Middlesbrough, An Axis of Perdition has crafted a sound that blends dissonant industrial elements with visceral metal intensity. Their 2024 album Apertures is a culmination of their years of evolution, with its surrealism and atmospheric depth marking a new phase in the band's sonic landscape.

Cosmic Cenotaph, produced by Russ Russell and Simon White, contains a dark yet cathartic listening experience. From the incomprehensible, imagining of the end of time and space, to explorations turned inward, to the human psyche, Cosmic Cenotaph offers intensity and intrigue. 

Simon White explains the concept behind the album: "Conceptually, when I first started thinking about this album, in a cliched sort of way I thought of it like a triptych similar to Bosch’s ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’. Each panel being a collection of ideas to draw inspiration from for the lyrics.

I abstracted this idea into a circular hierarchy starting at a single point on earth with an individual, then increasing the radius of the circle to include the planet, nearby planets, and alien life. Then lastly to increase the radius of the circle to include the universe and the outer edges of spacetime that decay/breakdown into chaos."

The album explores three main themes. From the human perspective, the album delves into the darkest experiences; existential angst, depression, nihilism, mortality, suicide, and anger. Looking beyond our realms, out into the cosmos, explores bigger questions and possibilities: "[the album questions] our place in the cosmos and relationship to other intelligent life, if it exists. Did we signal ourselves to the universe when we started testing thermonuclear weapons? Are they concerned about us weaponising space and how we would be viewed as a technologically advanced species as we travel from earth? Furthermore, are we being visited already, and what does their technological ability tell us about our current understanding of physics etc." And thirdly, Cosmic Cenotaph ventures into the occult. "We see this kind of 'abyss gazing' often in philosophy, art, music, etc.", Simon adds. "This feeling of being observed by the object of our contemplation."

About VOSFORIS:

Formed in 2022 in the UK by Simon White, the black metal band VOSFORIS entwines industrial elements across their sound. Primary influences in VOSFRIS' sound are namely, SATYRICON, TYPE O NEGATIVE, NINE INCH NAILS, with aspects of melodic/symphonic and black/death also present. The album includes the addition of notable guests, including guitarist Richard Shaw and additional arrangements by Anabelle Iratni on "Psychonaut" and "Omega". With drums on Cosmic Cenotaph performed by Adrian Erlandsson.

ARCTIC DREAMS Unleashes Debut Album "And the Agony Has Started"

ARCTIC DREAMS, the mysterious band from St. Petersburg, is glad to present the audience with the long-awaited first album called “And the Agony Has Started. ” The band’s music can be classified as metal with electronic gothic and industrial tendencies that will fascinate listeners and defy expectations. 

ARCTIC DREAMS was created in 2009 with a vision to be different from the rest of the heavy music bands; the band members include Aleksandr “Alex_Y” Järvinen (vocals/guitars/music/lyric), Igor “Sydius” Pokatilov (back-vocal/guitars), and Sergey “Glam_Dickens” Dik. Taking ideas from Metallica, Cradle of Filth, Hocico, the band tried themselves in everything, mixing the favorite metal with electronic, gothic and industrial with the addition of classical composers like Vivaldi, Beethoven and Mozart. 

Finally, after years of hard work and preparation, ARCTIC DREAMS got into the studio to record the first demo, the aggressive metal with electronic influences which can be compared to the bands like Deathstars, Dope Stars Inc, The CNK. While their activity was temporarily put on hold, the band members kept on writing songs and polishing their material, which would eventually form the basis of the band’s concept that would be expressed in “And the Agony Has Started. 

The recording of the debut album started in 2014 and the band encountered a lot of problems during the process. Unfazed, they continued, and eventually set up their own recording studio, the Arctic Sonic Wave Recording Studio, to fine tune their music. Now, after a lot of struggling, ARCTIC DREAMS offers people to join their world with the new song “And the Agony Has Started.

Costa Rican industrial black metal project DUSK announces the impending release of Industrie. The band's newest album is comprised of six conceptually linked chapters and ends with a scathing revisioning of Mahyem's "Freezing Moon."

The album portrays a struggle of consciousness with one's perception of reality. It explores how the mind can manipulate oneself through the protagonist of the album, the 'decadent pilgrim,' who embarks on an ethereal journey—whether as a form of sarcasm regarding suffering or not—towards his mind. He finds himself submerged in the darkness of his subconscious, yet simultaneously believes he is being summoned by a dark entity inciting him to embrace the darkness and abandon his emotions. The pilgrim begins to relish the darkness and grows comfortable within it. He travels towards dark forests and feels an almost irresistible attraction to the forbidden. However, as he nears rock bottom, he experiences despair at being unable to perceive his senses and feels a pressing need for answers. He questions whether his journey will lead to death and serve as a passage to the underworld, or if his mind is constructing this tumultuous path to the subconscious.

The internal struggle unfolds in a manner where the impulse and need to move forward, to uncover what lies beyond, compel him to persist, regardless of the knowledge he acquires. In the abyss of his subconscious, he realizes that someone or something exists, calling out to him and claiming him—whether it be his mind, his soul, or something darker.

Ultimately, the pilgrim acquires the knowledge that the solution lies within his mind. He comes to understand that we are all our own gods, possessing the ability to create and destroy. At this moment, he derides other pilgrims and feels superior to them, having gained knowledge through experiences—whether through death, madness, or by witnessing what lies beyond the mind, even descending into hell in some way.

Sentient Ruin is excited to announce that after the glorious "Wormboiler" cassette tape compilation obliterated human ears in 2021, American one-man black industrial weapon Uranium finally emerges from the depths of oblivion once again with its debut full-length album "An Exacting Punishment", a five-track, forty-minute radioactive nightmare of complete sonic ruin channelling the darkness of black metal with the scathing immensity of defining post-industrial acts like Brighter Death Now, Godflesh, Wolf Eyes, Swans, MZ. 412, Controlled Bleeding, and Genocide Organ.

"Terror Winds", the latest album from T.O.M.B. is the storming follow-up to "The Thin Veil", which was released in 2020 on Dark Essence Records. Massachusetts Death-Industrial Metal duo INVERTIA (Dave Coppola/Tim Winson) can not be discredited for the lack of trying to create something wholly different from everything else. Invertia’s music ridicules the hypocrisy of cult-religious fervor with nitroglycerin and napalm shred guitars and psycho-bombastic drum programming.

The band’s 2013 self titled debut described by Metal Army America as a “bastard child of Gorgoroth” and featuring “some of low- fi jaunts Al Jourgensen (Ministry) has taken us on” is a combination of black and industrial metal which is not only aptly described as oppressive but can be flat out overwhelming.

2014 brings the release Another Scheme of the Wicked which combines a blistering 5-track assault with 5 remixes from various musical backgrounds, including Ohm Resistance veterans Justin K. Broadrick (GODFLESH, JESU), End.user (THE BLOOD OF HEROES), and Submerged (METHOD OF DEFINANCE, THE BLOOD OF HEROES). INVERTIA is holding up a mirror displaying some of the darkest paradoxes and truly terrifying segments of societies.

In 2015, INVERTIA contributed to the Science Slam Sonic Explorer’s series on the EP titled Deep Time Predator, also featuring others such as At The Gates frontman Tompa Lindberg, Submerged, Tomas Andersson of DENATA and American sound deformers ZERFALLMENSCH. The subject: a predatory fossil, a half-meter long worm with deadly jaws that lived 420 million years ago, discovered by paleontologist Mats E. Eriksson (Lund University) and appropriately named Kingnites Diamondi in tribute to the musical legacy of King Diamond. The band also was featured in two paleontology books about this project.

2016 brought us INVERTIA's full length The Biddings of Tyrants, with added elements of death metal and hardcore punk. The album as a whole, musically and lyrically, focuses on the world around us and its effect on the human psyche. However, each song is a different Bidding from a different Tyrant. The album also features the drumming of Aaron Rossi (MINISTRY, PRONG) and Kevin Talley (SUFFOCATION, DYING FETUS, SIX FEET UNDER)

October 31, 2017 (Halloween) INVERTIA returns with The Crimson Screen Vol. 1, the band’s first in a series of EPs that are thematically-based on the early days of horror films. While retaining the relentlessness and devastation that has plagued humanity throughout the years, the band has found new inspiration from the moving picture. A lyrical detour, the manner in which those early days of horror are interpreted sees the band heading down a very dark path; a crooked, detoured path into an abysmal whirlwind…

2022 sees The Quiver, another chapter of aggressive material within 21 minutes over 4 new tracks. They tell it like they see it, with a skeptical eye, again honing in on yet another disgusting look at a world full of propaganda, mistrust and indoctrination that is revolving around you.

The lyrics deal with the esoteric notion of God’s disappointment for his own act of creation: holy words through unholy sounds, a sacred language expressed through music that is thick and suffocating and yet at the same time atmospherically enveloping, making “Concealment” capable of exhaling its fumes all the way up to the darkening skies.

White and announce the imminent release of "The Doorway", a new full-length LP from his mechanized aural weapon Vessel of Iniquity. Comprising of nine blistering new cuts of total auditory annihilation and featuring staggering artwork by PBV of 夢遊病者 (Sleepwalker), "The Doorway" sees Vessel of Iniquity reach its critical mass and assume what may possibly be its most lethal, majestic, and abominable form yet.

On this new horrific experiment of overwhelming sensorial annihilation, sole mastermind A. White invokes absolute armageddon, funneling a blinding scourge of swirling atmospheric harsh industrial and lacerating abstract black metal into forty-five minutes of pure concentrated chaos. With an immanent and horrifying sense of dissolution and of total loss of control, "The Doorway" sees Vessel of Iniquity discharge a pulverizing swarm of machine gun-like drum machines, suffocating ambient dirges, ravaging harsh electronics and a maelstrom of crushing fretwork obliteration to pound complete oblivion into the listener.

In the lonely hours of night, at the end of the darkest of days, they came for him again. "System I" is a 12" vinyl, digital and cassette tape full-length album/”compilation” of all the band's recent digital only singles and EPs, remastered to their final and ultimate form along with a glorious and previously unreleased cover rendition of Killing Joke's classic cut "The Wait". While these tracks were previously already digitally (self)released, don't be fooled or misled to think you're hearing any "b-sides" or otherwise "left over" material, rather, consider "System I" not only the righteous third official full-length album from the band, but also by far Decoherence's most visionary, cohesive, and imposing songs to date. 

Awe-inducing and ghastly in its enveloping immensity, the tracks on "System I" see the enigmatic multinational black metal band morph into their most defiant and commanding form yet, as they construct an impenetrable mechanized swarm of liquefying industrial hallucinations and swirling dissonance that eradicates the listener from their corporeal and terrestrial self to cast them at the edge of a light-devouring void. The band shared stage with Samael in Costa Rica during their 2019 Latin American Tour.
