TRISKELYON RELEASE "TRISKELYON" EP AND VIDEO FOR "HUNGER"

PRESS RELEASE:

Triskelyon is a Canadian melodic thrash metal project created by Geoff Waye, guitarist for Artach and Category VI. Conceived in late 2021 as a studio-only project, the first self-titled EP releases on January 25, 2022.

Triskelyon features the contributions of vocalists Pete Healey and Marlee Ryley (Hyperia), along with drum programming by Raul Marques (Burning Torment).

Geoff Waye explains in further detail how the project came to be:

"The project formed in St. John's, Newfoundland. It began because I wanted an outlet for more melodic, yet still savage sounding thrashy metal. I wanted to do this as a studio project so I could get things together myself, which means I can do so fairly quickly if I want to. I did all the songs, wrote the lyrics, and play all the guitar and bass on the EP. I cannot play drums, so I found the fantastic Raul Marques. I wanted the vocals to be melodic so after I had the songs together I asked my vocal god friend, Pete Healey, to do some vocals. I sent him what I had and he was into it and you can hear him on tracks "Hunger" and "Find A Way". The last puzzle piece for the EP is Marlee Ryley – the very versatile vocalist for the killer Canadian band Hyperia. I took a shot in the dark and introduced myself and asked if she'd like to guest on the EP and she agreed to be on the closing track "Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)"

Today, in support of the debut EP's release, Triskelyon is unveiling their lyric video for EP opener "Hunger", a track that starts with no buildup just straight into the fun speedy thrash riffage.

"This was also the first song I wrote for this project. After I had it written and got the drums done, I knew I was onto something. The song is about a hunger for change in the world. I am not a fan of the way the world is heading in terms of politics, divisions, and how stuck in their ways and traditions people are. The chorus line “It's the time for the fearless to rise. A hunger for change in their eyes.” gets to the theme and heart of the song's idea." adds Waye.

With antithetic choruses that you can sing along to, speedy head-banging riffs and just a straight to the point melodic thrash sound, Triskelyon is recommended for fans of Anthrax, Death Angel, Metal Church, Testament and Forbidden.

VORAATH RELEASE NEW TRACK "THE BARRENS"

PRESS RELEASE:

VORAATH, the brutal horror-inspired extreme metal band featuring members from Nile, Xael, Rapheumets Well, Implosive Disgorgence, and Sweet Blood are unleashing their next single "The Barrens" to follow their debut single and music video “Siren Head” directed by drummer Joshua Nassaru Ward and released this past November.

As part of the band's vivid storytelling, "The Barrens" kickstarts another musical odyssey. Picture a dystopian Earth around the year 2136 and more than 80 percent of the world's population disappeared after the arrival of an alien species. The music follows a group of mercenaries employed by The Eos Corporation to locate and retrieve something referred to as "the nexus key" in which they run into some complicated and dangerous resistance. Since the arrival of the "Cosmic Architects" strange creatures now roam the dystopian planet. The music is meant to portray the dire and odd environment in which the story unfolds.

The track is just a preview from the otherworldly and experimental metal act based out of the Carolinas as they work on recording their forthcoming full length.

Coming together only during September 2021, Voraath features Brad Parris (Nile) on vocals and guitar, Joshua Nassaru Ward (Xael, Rapheumets Well) on drums, vocals and keys, along with Paul McBride (Implosive Disgorgence, Sweet Blood) on bass, and guitarists Daniel Presnell and Tylor Kohl. The band first began as a vessel for them as musicians to continue touring and writing.

“We wanted to explore even further integrating science fantasy, soundscapes, and metal. This will be something new bringing together emotional yet brutal music and science fantasy so we hope to appeal to both metal enthusiasts as well as those who appreciate the lore of the music.” adds the band.

Transporting fans to a different world, Voraath plans to offer up both escapism and music that relates to them on a personal level. For their live performance, the band has lots of on-stage theatrics and costuming to bring the storytelling to life. It will be both intense and immersive.

Voraath is recommended for fans of death metal, black metal, and 80’s movie soundtracks.

“Black Cowslip” is the fourth full-length of RABID DOGS.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Kick Recording Studio in Rome between September 2020 and March 2021, “Black Cowslip” sounds as a well balanced mix of extreme metal, sludge and filthy rock ‘n’ roll, marking a big step forward for the band that over the years have managed to develop a personal sound slowly moving away from the more obvious grindcore influences of the earlier records.

The album displays a wide range of catchy riffs that meets furious d-beat rides, freezing growls scratched by bluesy harp solos, stoned melodies that broaden towards a doomy black despair.

MANTIC RITUAL RELEASE SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR "BLACK FUNERAL"

PRESS RELEASE:

Reunited thrashers MANTIC RITUAL have unveiled a visualizer video for their cover of Mercyful Fate's classic, “Black Funeral.” The video for “Black Funeral” can be viewed at https://youtu.be/xQGWm4mk7xQ. The track is the B-side of the 7-inch vinyl release for their recently-revealed single, “Crusader.” The limited-edition of 300 collector’s 7-inch vinyl with “Crusader” - the band's first new music in 12 years from the reunited group featuring original members Dan Wetmore (vocals/guitars), Jeff Potts (guitars), and Ben Mottsman (bass) alongside new drummer Carlos Cruz (Warbringer, Machine Head, Power Trip) - as the A-side and “Black Funeral” as the B-side is set to be released this Friday, January 28th. Order now at https://www.smarturl.com/manticritual.

“I can't think of a metal band I like more than Mercyful Fate; melodic, dark, and shockingly heavy at times,” explains guitarist/vocalist Dan Wetmore. “We've covered ‘Doomed by the Living Dead’ and ‘Gypsy’ in the past, but I wanted something direct and short. ‘Black Funeral’ really delivers. Heavy as hell, straight to the punch and then it ends with two beautiful leads. Perfect. We wanted to do this largely note for note, true to the original, just a bit faster. My vocal style has changed a bit. I scream less, and I sing more. And my range is much bigger. This seemed a challenge, but it came out in just a few takes. All hail Satan!!”

The early beginnings of MANTIC RITUAL were birthed in the band's hometown of Pittsburgh in 2005. Performing initially under the name Meltdown, the group began building a buzz with Northeast heavy metal fans over the next two years with their combination of boundless thrash enthusiasm and superb songsmanship. The band moved across the country to Los Angeles in 2007, where performances alongside leaders of the budding Southern California thrash revival such as Warbringer, Fueled By Fire, and Merciless Death earned them attention from discerning metal audiences and a record deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

The group soon changed their name to MANTIC RITUAL, and released their first – and so far only – full-length record “Executioner” in March 2009. The album received critical acclaim at the time of its release, with MetalSucks praising the band's “ability to display solid songcraft while maintaining a high-level of heaviness,” Blabbermouth taking note of their “passion, chemistry and intensity,” and the Washington Post noting that “MANTIC RITUAL’s old-school sensibilities act like a group hug that brings punks and headbangers together.”

MANTIC RITUAL followed up the release of “Executioner” with live touring alongside heavy metal titans such as Rotting Christ and Destruction, before dissolving in 2010. Potts and Mottsman later went on to join Warbringer for their 2013 release, “IV: Empires Collapse,” with Potts himself also performing on Gygax's 2018 release, “2nd Edition.” Potts, Mottsman, and Wetmore began writing and recording new music together - with Cruz now joining them on drums – in the beginning of 2021. The band's first new music in 12 years was recently unveiled with “Crusader,” which can be heard at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vr63c1o2Xw.

The release of “Crusader” and their cover of Mercyful Fate's “Black Funeral” is only the beginning of this exciting new chapter in the story of MANTIC RITUAL. More information on new music from MANTIC RITUAL will be unveiled in the weeks to come by M-Theory Audio and at www.facebook.com/manticritual.
