ATHEIST RELEASE "AND THE PSYCHIC SAW" LIVE PLAYTHROUGH QUARANTINE VIDEO

Technical death thrash jazz metal masters ATHEIST have released a live quarantine video for their classic track "And the Psychic Saw". ATHEIST are widely regarded by those in the know as the pioneers of technical death metal, influencing many of today’s top technical extreme metal bands. ATHEIST was set to return to Europe and the UK for the first time since 2011 with the ENTHRALLED IN EUROPE TOUR in September of 2020. Due to the pandemic the tour has been rescheduled for February/March 2021. The lineup remains as ATHEIST with support from CADAVER, SVART CROWN and FROM HELL.

During quarantine members Daniel Martinez, Chris Martin, Yoav-Ruiz Feingold and Anthony Medaglia kept their chops and produced a series of playthrough videos. The first was for the track ‘Mother Man’ from ATHEIST second album ‘Unquestionable Presence’.

The latest installment brings up ‘And The Psychic Saw’ also from the ‘Unquestionable Presence’ release which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/9gIJH0j5nAA?sub_confirmation=1.

The video for ‘And The Psychic Saw’ as well as the video for ‘Mother Man’ can be viewed at the bands official YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ7LKy_zivv0rWUoVV8QAag?sub_confirmation=1.

Vocalist Kelly Shaefer comments on the video: “This is the second of our playthrough videos – ‘An The Psychic saw’! We wanted to lay this on you metal heads from the new band. It is a notoriously difficult song to play so when the new guys wanted to add this to the set I was reluctant. It is one of my favorite songs, even my co-founder Steve Flynn was always cautious about pulling this song off live so we rarely tried it...and along came these young monsters who just crushed it. So of course I said fuck yes, let's add it to the set. We performed this on several of the dates on our last tour with Cattle Decapitation. These guys just nailed it!!! I couldn’t be more proud to introduce you to ATHEIST 2020. Enjoy!!!”

Don’t miss ATHEIST as they team up with powerhouses CADAVER and SVART CROWN for a terrifying tour through Europe and UK in February/March 2021!

The Norwegian CADAVER, founded by Anders Odden (SATYRICON, ORDER) is a prime example of a true Nordic mindset when it comes to death metal. One of the first Norwegian extreme metal bands, re-gathered for the first time since 2004, is coming back to life with Dirk Verbeuren (MEGADETH, ex-SOILWORK) on drums. The band will present its new digital EP titled DGAF, just released through Nuclear Blast.

The French blackened death metal monsters SVART CROWN will join this powerful lineup with their brand new fifth studio album ‘Wolves Among The Ashes’, released earlier this year through Century Media. Five albums and over ten years of heavy touring made SVART CROWN one of the French bands a true lover of death metal should see anytime they come by.

A heavy metal horror concept band FROM HELL, each recording of which is intended to be its own horror story, will complement this tour. On this leg, the US-based metallers will present their new concept album ‘Rats & Ravens’.

The tour will be complemented by opening acts such as CRITICAL MESS (Germany), TYPHUS (Greece), and one more band to be announced soon.

Carefully flex your neck and keep yourself hydrated so that your body is in good shape when this lineup comes to your town and slams your face with pristine death metal wall of sound!

ESHTADUR launched in the fall of 2005 releasing the "Timo Be Timo" demo with a sound inspired by At The Gates, Soilwork, and SepticFlesh. Since then, they have released a pair of EPs and a potent trio of albums. The band embodies a deathly melodic atmosphere that reaches into realms of darkness and despair through the decay of humanity. With a name translating to "rebellion of angels," this Colombian outfit seeks to rebel in its own darkened way, embracing the abject reality.

Their rich touring history includes performances across Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. They have shared the stage and toured with Cradle of Filth, Vader, Graveworm, Coldblood, Abbadon Incarnate and more in shows all over the world, and even headlined a stage at Rock Al Parque, Colombia's premiere heavy music festival, in 2016.

ESHTADUR toured through Europe to support their 2017 album Mother Gray (via Bleeding Music Records).  Now set to unleash their new work From the Abyss through Nuclear Blast's Blood Blast Distribution on September 4th, there's nowhere for these rebellious angels to go but up.

ENSLAVED RELEASE "URJOTUN" VIDEO

PRESS RELEASE:

Norway's premier progressive black metallers ENSLAVED have today released third single 'Urjotun' from their upcoming studio album Utgard - out 2nd October via Nuclear Blast. The single, one of their most experimental yet, is accompanied by a psychedelic video detailing dark visions and a journey to the outer reaches of the subconscious.

Vocalist Grutle Kjellson commented: “The lyrical idea for Urjotun had been spinning around in the chaos in the back of my head for quite a while, when Ivar sent me the riff-demo last autumn. I knew instantly that this was it, the very soundtrack of the rise of the primeval giant, the Urjotun! Our mutual love and fascination for that early krautrock scene and for bands like Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk, finally fully ascended in an Enslaved song, almost 30 years after we picked up those legendary kraut-albums. It’s funny, that in Germany they referred to this kind of music as “Kosmische Musik”, cosmic music! And, that is exactly what this song is about; cosmic chaos. On top of this, director David Hall, made a perfect projection and visualization of our troubled minds.”

In Utgard, ENSLAVED continue exploring uncharted progressive and psychedelic territories - placing them in a unique position of both bearers of tradition as well as explorers into the unknown - propelling themselves into the future, yet honouring their roots. Enslaved have launched an Urjotun t-shirt available in their merch store:

KATAKLYSM RELEASE "UNDERNEATH THE SCARS" VIDEO

PRESS RELEASE:

Canadian death metal masters KATAKLYSM has just released a video for the track "Underneath the Scars" (check it below). The tune is part of the band`s "Unconquered" album, released that will be released on September 25th through Nuclear Blast Records. Maurizio Iacono comments, “'Underneath the Scars' is a bulldozer of a track that will surely ignite the world's metalheads into straight headbanging madness. We look forward to bringing this beast live when the time comes. Since all the KATAKLYSM members live in different states and countries as well as all the travel restrictions in place, there was no way we could get together and film another concept video as we had planned. So we dug up some unreleased footage from last year's European headlining tour and decided to pull together a cool montage of what we miss the most; playing live with our crazy fans by our side! Meanwhile, crank up Underneath the Scars and pull them horns up in the air!”

INSIDIOUS DISEASE RELEASE LYRIC VIDEO FOR "BETRAYER" + NEW ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

Norwegian death metal horde INSIDIOUS DISEASE, featuring current/former members from DIMMU BORGIR, MORGOTH, NILE, SUSPERIA and NAPALM DEATH, have announced their first album in a decade, "After Death," will be released on October 30thwith Nuclear Blast. Pre-orders are available now and the band has just unleashed a lyric video for a skull-crushing new track titled 'Betrayer.'

Watch the lyric video for 'Betrayer' here: https://youtu.be/Sqb8iiONS8w

Commenting on the new track, vocalist Marc Grewe says, "'Betrayer' kicks in straight away and has a quite remarkable hookline and a riffing that kicks you right into the balls. We can’t wait to play that song live again, which we did already a couple of times, and even if fans didn’t know the song yet, it always got a great response and people freaked/moshed out to it! Lyrically, it deals with stuff everybody has experienced: Getting fucked over/ betrayed by people you actually once trusted/loved to the fullest... this can be girlfriends/boyfriends, bandmates, friends or even family... It was a good cathartic event for me when writing these lyrics... from that feeling of total disappointment into anger and finally to expressing it via a song, that channelled all those negativity into something positive!”

Sonically inducing a depraved and morbid condition of the mind, INSIDIOUS DISEASE will return in 2020 to present their second full length album. Freshly signed to Nuclear Blast Records, the band convenes to create a modern venture into classic death metal. Still in the early stages of existence with only their debut album “Shadowcast (2010)” preceding, INSIDIOUS DISEASE are ripe with a hellish energy that seeks to sear its way across the universe of heavy metal. “It’s not supposed to be re-inventing the wheel or anything, it’s just about finding a good groove that we feel comfortable with,” explains Silenoz.
