EXILED HOPE RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING"

PRESS RELEASE:

EXILED HOPE, the blackened power metal project of multi-instrumentalist, Sofia Frasz will release her next single "The Silence is Deafening" on March 7, 2024. The song is taken from her upcoming album Apocrypha. Unlike her previous singles, "The Silence is Deafening" takes influence from bands like SWALLOW THE SUN and DRACONIAN and is a distinct shift in style from her usual sound.

Sofia comments,

"This song is for anyone who feels like they’re giving more to someone else than they’re receiving. You’re trying your best, but the other side seems to be giving up without telling you why. In the album, the protagonist’s lover feels like he’s growing distant from her without cause. He’s alienating everyone and isolating himself in his efforts to understand the nature of the creature he’s becoming. He hates what he sees in the world now that he understands the evil that befell it after Hope was sacrificed (referring to the events of Exiled Hope), and he hates what he sees in himself and everyone around him. His lover doesn’t see that, however; she only sees him growing distant and self-absorbed. If only he would tell her… but then again, who would believe him?"

About EXILED HOPE:

Multi-instrumentalist Sofia Frasz established EXILED HOPE in 2019, and draws musical inspiration from the likes of AVANTASIA, NIGHTWISH, KAMELOT and CRADLE OF FILTH to name a few. EXILED HOPE’s releases all take place in the same fictional universe and combine to form a dark fantasy metal opera. Each album centers on a character dealing with both an internal and external conflict in this world, and the lyrics explore how they navigate those conflicts. This is intended to provide some kind of escapism through the lyrical worldbuilding, while still keeping the songs grounded in real, relatable emotions despite their fantastical setup. EXILED HOPE is working towards the next album, Apocrypha, due to be released in late 2024. Through EXILED HOPE, Sofia has composed music for two short films, Hallowed Paths and What Happens After Midnight, and has collaborated with UK melodeath outfit STEEL FORGE.

CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN RELEASE "BLACK ONYX CAVE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Portuguese death metallers CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN are set to release their debut album "Black Onyx Cave" in CD format (300 hand-numbered copies) on March 18th 2024 via Nuclear Winter Records.

Today, the mighty Mystification Zine is hosting the official premiere of the album's second single, "Pale". Stream the song at THIS LOCATION.

The first single, "Charnel", is available HERE.

Tracklist:

01. Charnel

02. Flesh

03. Pale

04. Delirium

05. Portal

06. Ether

A path has been made for so long that desire gave birth to a new dimension of horror, where the graves awake at night and swallow the breathless.

Black Onyx stared into this abyss and sealed a lefthand pact with Phoros to rot the alchemy upon the philosophical stone. These fumes wrecked the pillars of time and procreated a vicious ensemble of smothering tunes towards ruin baptized under the moniker CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN.

Totally architected in a monolithic vision and crafted in the sulphuric womb of lunacy both musicians accepted this challenge outside their other musical projects (Grog, Velório & Nethermancy) to embrace and celebrate the newborn spirits of the dead.

Wandering through the extreme and obscure catacombs of the old school metal scripts, traces of death, black with eerie symphonies gather for a mass of skull crushing hymns along with a choir of morbid enchantments that turn down the crosses for the CHAPEL OF SAMHAIN hordes as the ambiences grow thicker within the abyssic layers of doom.

Once entering Black Onyx Cave, an altar will rise as you will feel the mark and the creation force behind this unparalleled vortex meant to represent the seasons change within light and shadow as Man grows wither into His Mastery. Transmutation is the Key!

FFO: early Morgoth, Profanatica, Acheron, Imprecation

HATRED REIGNS RELEASE VIDEO FOR "ABSENTIA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Unleashing their auditory journey "Awaken The Ancients" this past December, Canada's brutal force Hatred Reigns not only released a full-length record, but a conceptual epic that traverses uncharted realms of sound and emotion. The album’s narrative follows a protagonist grappling with oppressive forces, leading to a summoning of the ancients who rise to liberate the tormented from their prolonged suffering. Plunged into an endless abyss, the tormented emerge upon a desolate shore, surrounded by aimless souls.

In a quest for liberation, the damned are ferried across by Charon who must navigate treacherous planes, confronting challenges from demons above and lurking waters below. Their odyssey takes them across the enigmatic river Styx, lured by the ancients towards Necropia, where ultimate judgment awaits.

The seventh track/story of eight on the album is "Absentia", which tells the part of their tale of the vessel venturing onward, with the treacherous waters proving to be a metaphorical battleground. The Ancients, masters of manipulation, distort the perceptions of the voyagers. The chronicle's protagonist's senses are tampered with, blurring the lines between reality and illusion.

To give a visual admiration of this track's relentless pillaging, Hatred Reigns has put together a 3D animated lyric video that can be seen and heard via its premiere on Ghost Cult Magazine HERE.

An eight-track sojourn into other worlds, paying homage to classic films and literature as well as their musical influences, "Awaken The Ancients" was mixed and mastered by vocalist Mitchi Dimitriadis, who also played a pivotal role in bringing guitarist Jeff Calder's vision to life. Together with Calder, Dimitriadis developed orchestration soundscapes, incorporating percussive sounds, spoken word elements, and digital sound samples into the music.

Pedro “Lordigan” Sena, the album's designer, crafted a masterful artwork piece that vividly depicts countless aimless souls preparing to face judgment. This artwork aligns seamlessly with the album's thematic exploration and adds depth and vibrancy to the overall experience.

The tracks on the album are a testament to the band's diverse influences, seamlessly woven into a unified entity that reflects their collective vision. The sonic journey they offer is a compelling fusion of their musical roots and is suggested for fans of Carcass, Behemoth, and Cryptopsy.

“For the music video we gave an open call to everyone in our community in order to get a bigger-scale result than what we could achieve on our own, and it's the second time the community came through beyond all expectations. Everyone who shows up to our shoots always brings their metal A-game, and are what make these videos legitimately special."

“Priestess of Dark Paradise” follows up the two earlier advance tracks “Heartless” https://youtu.be/rXBFl4Fogzs and “Devour” https://youtu.be/-xNIBaPbds8?si=x6bbRYTEJRuFYzxt which can all be found on ANUBIS’ full-length debut ‘ Dark Paradise’ out this Friday.

“’Dark Paradise’ marks our inaugural full-length album, and the anticipation is real! We believe this work strongly showcases our distinct blend of lightning-paced thrash riffs and resonant, memorable hooks that you’ve all come to expect from us,” states bassist Will Buckley. “We’re beyond excited to unleash this adrenaline-charged experience straight to your ears, and soon to a venue near you!”

Some upcoming live shows include (more to be announced soon) –

ANUBIS have been building quite a reputation for the past six years. The outfit has been doing it the traditional way by playing shows all over Southern California, self-releasing a consistent handful of EPs & singles and promoting themselves organically not only online but actually getting out there and meeting people. Now armed with a powerful new album ANUBIS have teamed up with M-Theory Audio to take things to the next level.

Singer Devin Reiche may be a familiar name to fans of thrash and underground metal as he’s also the bassist in Bay Area thrashers Hatchet, but Devin actually lives in L.A. and power metal has always been his first love and calling. Working diligently Devin has developed his vocal abilities and become quite the commanding frontman.

Joining Devin in ANUBIS are guitarists Eleazar Llerenas (Delusional Fate) and Justin Escamilla (Tower Guard), bassist Will Buckley and drummer Robin Salazar (both formerly of Hydera), all musicians who’ve been cutting their teeth in the L.A. music scene. ANUBIS has opened for bands like Raven, Rhapsody of Fire, Warbringer, Heathen, Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, Allegaeon, Hammerfall, Metal Church, Exmortus, Hatriot, and placing at the Wacken Metal Battle US final.

HIEROPHANT RELEASE LIVE ALBUM "GATEWAY TO THE ABYSS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Italy’s death-black metal force HIEROPHANT unleash their live album, “Gateway to the Abyss”, out on March 29th 2024 via Dusktone Records.

Recorded during their acclaimed concert at France’s Hellfest in 2023, “Gateway to the Abyss” offers a fresh take on the band’s latest album, “Death Siege” (Season Of Mist). To HIEROPHANT, Hellfest was a monumental occasion, where these musicians and an enormous production came together to forge a frantic and vigorous spectacle.

The songs remain the same, but captured in the urgency of a live environment, they appear even rawer and heavier than they were originally, and the maturation of the last couple of years spent on the road, following the conquest of several prestigious stages (MetalDays, Party.San and many others), makes them more savage.

"Gateway to the Abyss" is the most feral representation of what HIEROPHANT is about: hatred, blood, nihility. FIRE WILL RISE!
