Ancestral Totem has been hardened by the fires of time. Recorded in the summer of 2014, side A has a live rehearsal recorded with a guest vocalist, where side B has a live recording with the drummer singing.

As with so many musicians, a meeting of minds, a temporary expression of creative integrity caused Ancestral Totem's inception and demise. Nothing fuels the hatred in this music as much as the times that will never happen again. RIP.

On their seventh album „Vultus Fati“ Italian melodic-black-metallers BLAZE OF SORROW ask you to do exactly that – with your will unbroken and your sword held high, despite all sadness. All the styles that have marked the sound of BLAZE OF SORROW over the years can be found here. The riffs show a melodic sensibility and a sense of medieval grandeur, deeply rooted in the warm Hellenic school of black metal known from bands such as Rotting Christ, Varathron, and Yoth Iria. The vocals are screamed in Italian language, and the bittersweet sound of the viola makes it all sound unique. Thematically, the songs on „Vultus Fati“ are related to the inexorability, inevitability, and fleetingness of time. ‘Unholy Blackened Sludge’ was recorded, mixed and mastered at Ypoga K94 by Dead Elephant and members of Ypoga K94, between July and September 2022. We chose not to pay or consult any ‘experts’ or professionals for the creation of this album. Instead, we tried to rely on our own efforts, exchange knowledge and thoughts with the people who showed interest in participating in the project, interact more with a political D.I.Y space and its people, get more involved in our own creation. We feel really glad that we were given the opportunity, time and space to materialize that concept and we would really like to thank everyone who took part at the procedure, even by spending time being there, which we considere significant.
