“Grind Over Matter” was tracked at Rorysound Studios, Uppsala, Sweden, with Lawrence Mackrory, with two weeks devoted to drums, another two for guitar and bass and two three-day sessions for vocals. “It was pretty straightforward, the hardest part was to not get carried away by impulsive ideas too much, but stay put to the original plan,” says Jorde.

Exultant with youth, ideas, and confidence. Five years after debuting with Time In Coma, and just now celebrating their first decade as a band, Exessus have prepared their second album calmly, but conscientiously, multiplying their weapons to go all out.

Relying once again on Amplifire Studio and producer Gerard Rigau (Blaze Out), on Asynapse their thrash metal takes off exponentially, sounding varied and full of groove, and also accentuating their progressive and melodic side. We stand before twelve personal and fast songs plus an extended version of ‘Paths’, which have been finished off with a great cover and artwork by Pau Pujadas ‘Raven’, another of their regular collaborators.

The fact that each member has their own musical preferences has meant that, depending on the track, the Catalans can reminisce of bands as different as Trivium, Testament, Metallica, Evile, Pantera, Savage Messiah, Annihilator, or Havok, although always taking it to their own territory, bringing their own character as a band.

The Asynapse ship is about to depart and we don’t know where it has set its limits, so you would do well to book your ticket if you want to smash your neck to the rhythm dictated by their refreshing, dynamic, clear, and powerful thrash.

MITHRIDATUM RELEASE "HARROWING"

Featuring former members of Abhorrent and The Faceless, blackened/dissonant Death Metal trio MITHRIDATUM will release its debut album, Harrowing on CD, vinyl, and digital formats February 3, 2023 on Willowtip Records.

Created in 2019 in New York, the now Florida based industrial project from Gabriel Palacio is preparing to unleash the new album Vision on January 13th, 2023. The upcoming release is a dynamic selection of tracks from ANTIMOZDEBEAST's discography that showcase the project's distinctive experimental edge.

“Vision: An Antimozdebeast Collection is a handpicked album from Antimozdebeast by ANTIMOZDEBEAST. The tracks chosen are the ones that represent ANTIMOZDEBEAST at its best. Over the past (upcoming) 4 years ANTIMOZDEBEAST has been working diligently releasing music. Every track was written and produced by Gabriel Palacio the sole and founding member of the project. Vision is a humble submission of the artistry of ANTIMOZDEBEAST."

Drawing inspiration from the likes of NIN, MINISTRY, SKINNY PUPPY, ROB ZOMBIE and A PERFECT CIRCLE, ANTIMOZDEBEAST finds his music on a balance of sound, noise, and metal. Opening with the nightmarish "Masquerade of Death", the unique manipulation of textures and genres from ANTIMOZDEBEAST is laid bare. Industrial beats are layered with electronic melodies, contrapuntal rhythms, and distorted vocals that emerge straight out of the abyss. "Shadows Upon The Earth" brings further experimentation with guitars and percussion, alongside the underground industrial mood. Catchy hooks manifest among the chaos giving a nod to rave culture. Journeying through realms of anguish and tranquility, "Maladies of The Mad" ebbs and flows between sequencers and metal guitar riffs. "ICRI" concludes the album with a dark atmosphere. Somber spoken lyrics, accompanied by eerie droning orchestral elements and synths, deliver a dystopian conclusion. 

ANTIMOZDEBEAST produces a sound that isn't afraid to push the boundaries of discordant music. Making use of electronics from arpeggiators to trance gates to enhance the industrial aspect, an array of guitar tones and bass provide an injection of metal into the mix. Vision is an immersive selection of exploratory tracks with a monstrous side.

Short Bio: Founded in 2009 by two guitarists playing together in the late 80s, throughout its 13-year history Hellhaim managed to evolve from casual hard rock into raw, classic heavy metal incorporating elements of speed, thrash and extreme metal, hence the band invented the "extreme heavy metal" moniker. HOUNDS OF THYRA RELEASE NEW SINGLE "ETERNITY"

Jiri wrote and recorded the guitar and bass parts, wrote the lyrics and recorded a couple guitar solos. His friend Günther Fölger from the karmacube.de guitar school was a great help with the vocal lines and harmonies and a guitar solo for the song called "I failed you".

Eric Wunderlich, the drummer, recorded six songs for the album and Jiri got in touch with a singer named Eric Castiglia ( https://www.ericcastiglia.com/) and Widek ( http://widekstudio.com), who mixed & mastered the tracks.

There were also a couple hosting musicians like for example the solo guitarists Michael Hell (a guitar solo in the song titled "As you roam") and Martin Mühling ("White plague" and "For all men" guitar solos).

9 Songs have been released under the label of Turtle Records (www.turtle-records.de). The music went public on many streaming services at the end of March 2022.

On April the 3th an EP called "Legends of Kattegat" containing 4 songs has been released. Tomas Baptista and Eric Castiglia has been invited as the singers.

The Brazilian progressive death metal act ABSTRACTED – whose sound blends the blistering technicality of acts such as Obscura and Necrophagist with moments evoking the progressive side of bands such as Opeth and The Faceless – have unveiled a new music video for their song “Wither to Dust” from their latest album, Atma Conflux. “The ‘Wither to Dust’ video shows a little about Atma Conflux's lore,” explains singer Rosano Matiussi. “We have this story about a man, who is the main character of our album, who after murdering his wife in a fire that he caused (unintentionally) gets into a battle between good and evil. He has the visualization of two tulpas (a being that is created in imagination through spiritual or mental power in Tibetan Buddhism). The tulpas represent good and evil, good being the solar tulpa while bad is represented as the lunar tulpa. They follow him through his mental suffering and guide him through his redemption, where he's comforted by the solar tulpa and gets his retrieval.

We shot the story part at our drummer's house, and the band part at a hall in Cotia, a small city near São Paulo, Brazil. Movilabe was the team that recorded all the scenes, and they put special attention on choosing the correct camera and gear to get the best result for our idea. We hope everyone to enjoys the video and gets more into the Atma Conflux's storyline.”

ABSTRACTED took their name from a song by Swedish melodic death metal greats Scar Symmetry. Influences from other European acts such as Gojira and Edge of Sanity, American bands such as Allegaeon and Between The Buried And Me, and genre giants such as Death and Coroner all formed the basis for the sound that the band explored on their thrilling 2015 debut EP, Ophidian. The group continued to build their name in the years that followed while balancing scholastic pursuits with live appearances on festivals throughout their native country.

ABSTRACTED began working on their debut full-length, Atma Conflux with continued writing, crafting, and producing the record throughout 2019 and 2020. The new album sees the group integrating synthesizers and orchestral keyboards into their already-expansive sound. “The Flood was the first song that we wrote together. Jani came up with the idea for the instruments and I wrote the vocal and lyric lines. The lyrics are about the feeling of drowning into your own thoughts, described with a lot of metaphors”.

Guitarist Jani Loikkanen comments on Rogue Five Single:

“My goal was to write a song that has a catchy chorus and lead parts. There’s good energy and spirit for a sweet party. I wrote the intro riff first and that set the song up for a fast paced guitar riffage. And to be honest, this is definitely a song for guitar maniacs”.

BIOGRAPHY:

Admire the Grim is a melodic death metal band from Lappeenranta, Finland. The group was formed by five friends in early 2021. In May 2022 the band released its first single ‘Storm the Barricade’ and in September 2022 music video and single for ‘Rogue Five’ saw the daylight. In November 2022 the second single ‘The Flood’ from ‘Rogue Five’ -EP was released and the EP itself is published on January 2023 via Inverse Records.
