PRESS RELEASE:
Following on from their 2020 EP, Rotting Sanctum, A Pretext To Human Suffering have returned with a first full length album of their complex and punishing, trademark technical, brutal death metal. Bringing together captivating melody, high velocity savagery, crushing heaviness and breathtaking musicianship and forging them into an adamantine alloy of unimaginable power, Endless Cycle Of Suffering is a staggering demonstration of A Pretext To Human Suffering’s strength and skill. Ten tracks of mind blowing potency make this one of extreme metal’s finest debut albums in recent times.
A Pretext To Human Suffering started life as a solo project in 2019, the spawn of vocalist, guitarist and song writer Chris Mathis’ fevered imagination. However the beast quickly grew from those isolated origins, with Wes Van Hook (Sold Soul, ex-Lord of War, Inhuman Atrocities), Beto Vipe (Devour the Unborn, Defleshed and Gutted) and Spencer Atkinson-Del Puppo (ex-Cryptic Enslavement) adding their considerable musical muscle to the ranks. Yet even knowing the pedigree of the musicians involved in A Pretext To Human Suffering, nothing could have prepared fans for the decimation and destruction that is Endless Cycle Of Suffering. So much more than ‘just another death metal album’, Endless Cycle Of Suffering draws from all areas of the death metal genre, infusing its brutality with haunting atmosphere, tearing through its torrid darkness with glistening solos and crafting true songs; dynamic and enthralling exercises in the extreme.
Adorned in the superb artwork of Vladimir ‘Smerdulak’ Chebakov (1914, Deadhead, Lake Of Tears etc) and blessed with a monstrous sound, courtesy of Floor Van Kuijk at GLDCHN Studios (Sijjeel, Focal Dystonia etc), Endless Cycle Of Suffering will be unleashed by Reality Fade Records (Visions Of Disfigurement, Colpocleisis etc) on May 26th. Prepare yourself for one of the most intense and overwhelming death metal experiences of the year.

PRESS RELEASE:
NoCleanSinging is pleased to debut the second single from Seattle’s Whythre. The single “Scorpions of Sinai”, which comes from their third album “Impregnate My Hate”, is the fastest song on the album, a solid melodic death metal offering pumped full of textures and synth. The band gives a nod to classic tale as a hint of what the song is about and explains:
“Go read the first short story in Roald Dahl’s ‘Switch Bitch’ and then read the lyrics to Scorpions. I can’t say much more without spoiling that experience. It’s a quick read, just go do it. This is our fastest song by far and always leaves Steve sweatin’! There’s a lot of underlying repetition in this song, which was a first for us, honestly the track is heavily inspired by underground techno vibes.”
With this album, the band presents a simmering tension that’s in between chill and balls to the wall. They hope that listeners find some extra ‘medium’ moments here and there that tastefully strike the balance. There is a wide variety of moods present on each track, it’s packed with heavy grooves, blistering riffs and huge symphonic waves.
Whythre started in 2010 as a solo project for Shon Petrey who was traveling a lot for work at the time. At the time, he was really into the symphonic metal and folk metal influences coming out of Europe. In 2012 he met an opera trained singer named Jeran Michaels and the full length album “Hel’s Hollows” followed a few years later. It took several years for the rest of the lineup to be formed but now, as a cohesive unit, they push forwards, challenging the rules of the genres, their musicianship and their camaraderie as a band.
Shon Petrey and Adam Chambers write the songs for Whythre. When inspiration hits, they bounce ideas off each other - sometimes they collaborate from the beginning, sometimes one of them fleshes out an idea to explore. Each song has its own unique vibe and story behind it.
Whythre’s “Scorpions of Sinai” has a groove guaranteed to move any circle pit and a message meant for heretics, by heretics. They are especially recommended for fans of Hypocrisy and Children of Bodom.

The full album “Impregnate My Hate” is being released on May 26th, 2023 via High Point Records and available for pre order at https://whythre.bandcamp.com/

HYL – WHERE EMPTINESS IS ALL
LABEL: ODIUM RECORDS
RELEASE DATE: MAY 2023
In the vast cathedrals of the forgotten faiths the shadows gather in black pools around the towering pillars and behind the dust shrouded altars. The air is cold and lifeless and silence reigns within the eternal stillness. The faces of angels stare down from the unseen heights with unblinking, stone eyes, their mouths frozen forever in muted hymns of praise. Nameless messiahs are trapped in the stained glass windows, colours dulled by dirt and perpetual night, imprisoned in moments of stories which no longer have meanings, beginnings or endings. This is the fate of gods – to fall from power and dominion to the darkness where emptiness is all…
Birthed in the creative cauldron that is the mind of Rick Costantino (Schizo, Krigere Wolf etc) Hyl is a new black metal entity that captures an atmosphere of utter desolation, of a world bereft of life. Joining Rick Costantino to invoke this spirit of the endless void are vocalist Shadow (Black Altar, Ofermod etc) and drummer Krzysztof Klingbein who has worked with both Vader and Belphegor. Together they have given form to the cold chaos of Costantino’s visions, together they have drawn from the dark Where Emptiness Is All, the first album to bear the seal of Hyl. The atmosphere that descends upon the listener from the opening sounds of the intro, ‘Pvrification’ is all consuming, its chill winds scattering reality into tattered fragments, opening the mind to the quiet glory of the end of all things. The ice within each note of ‘Endless Illusions’ will slow the heart and tighten the skin, turn the blood into cold, sluggish rivers within your veins. Where Emptiness Is All brings the cruel peace of absolute devastation, invokes the killing quietude of an abandoned world wrapped in the soft death of snow. This is black metal at its most powerful and enthralling, imbued with winter magic and offering a glimpse into a darkness beyond human experience and understanding.
Hyl’s storm of sound was channelled by Dionysis Dimitrakos (Enshadowed, Burial Hordes etc) from Descent Studio in Athens and ex-Marduk man Devo Andersson (Denouncement Pyre, Ragnarok etc) at Endarker Studio, while the lyrics and cover art were created by Claudia Sanzà of Elysivm Artwork. Each contribution has helped to make Where Emptiness Is All the incredible, enthralling study in solitude that it is. Deeply melancholic and transportative, Where Emptiness Is All will descend upon us all this spring, freezing the first buds of new life and sucking the warmth from the sun.

Formed in 1997 during the rise of the myriad bands that were part of the black metal subculture, Blood Stained Dusk emerged to take the United States Black Metal scene by storm. The BLOOD STAINED DUSK sound, which is like no other in U.S. Black Metal (USBM), captures unique, majestic, and somber tones accompanied by ritualistic brimstone and fire lyrics. The raw and menacing atmosphere of the band’s sound creates an epic and warlike ambiance. The music’s influence was originally forged by the traditional Norwegian and European Black Metal sound while powerfully emerging as a unique entity within the USBM culture.

PRESS RELEASE:
German death-doom metallers VOIDHAVEN will be releasing their new album, "Lithic", on June 9th 2023 via Ardua Music.
In 2016 a five-person expedition from Hamburg, who had set out towards the unknown, established a base on newfound ground. The crew - consisting of seasoned veterans also hired on vessels like Ophis, Fvneral Fvkk or Remembrance - claimed the place as their own, named it VOIDHAVEN and used it as origin for the distribution of their artistic cargo.
The exported wares combine various components to spread an atmosphere of oppressive, yet harboring gloom. Lyrically, they incorporate skeptical world watching, critical reflection of social relations, addressing inner struggles and spinning haunting tales. Musically, they blend a foundation of Melancholic Doom Metal with elements from Death Metal.
The first goods in form of the “Voidhaven”-EP were shipped in collaboration with Solitude Productions in 2018. Overcoming a line-up change on the drums, an unplanned break due to a pandemic and personal circumstances dispiriting the crew, they hired fleet admiral Jens Ballaschke to produce new wares in October 2022. Assorted in the “Lithic”-album, the resulting luxuries will be distributed in company with Ardua Music, beginning in June 2023.
So shoulder your bale and embark on a journey to find relief in the VOIDHAVEN!
For fans of My Dying Bride, Swallow The Sun, Hamferd, Saturnus, Officium Triste.

04. The Everblazing Picture
