THIS DAY 30 YEARS AGO: DEICIDE RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM

DEICIDE was not a new band on the death metal scene in 1990. In fact they were known as AMON and had released two demos, "Feasting the Beast" recorded in 1987 and "Sacrificial" released in 1989. Both demos were later re-released in 1993 under the DEICIDE moniker and the title "Amon: Feasting the Beast". When AMON got the contract signed with Roadrunner Records they changed their name to DEICIDE and recorded this death metal masterpiece. "Deicide" was recorded at Morrisound Studios, Tampa, Florida on March 1990 and was mastered at The Hit Factory DMS, New York, NY. Finally, the album was released on June 24th 1990. The line-up that recorded the album is the classic one from the first DEICIDE albums: Glen Benton on bass and vocals, Steve Asheim on drums and the brothers Eric Hoffman and Brian Hoffman (who years later reformed AMON) on guitars.

XASTHUR RELEASES "THE MORIBUND CULT YEARS" BOX SET

After Malefic decided to stop the black metal band known as XASTHUR in 2010 we were left wanting more and there were interesting releases like the "Wooden Box" box set from 2018 or the historic "1997-1999 Rehearsal" album. Now, here we have this release (it will be out on June 26th) that features the two 2004 albums "Telepathic with the Deceased" and "To Violate the Oblivious" along with the 2006 EP "Xasthur". DEGRAGORE STREAM "DEMONIC OBSESSION"

Hungarian brutal death metal band DEGRAGORE are streaming their new album "Demonic Obsession" that was released on June 21st on their Bandcamp site. Before this new release the band had a single "Scorched Remorse" released earlier this year. The band´s previous album is "Xenomorph Paroxysm" released in 2019. "Demonic Obsession" features ten tracks of pure brutality. more info on:

THERMONUCLEAR STREAMS "MASSIVE RETALIATION"

French / Greek death metal / grind /crust project THERMONUCLEAR, featuring Leonidas (CARTHAGE, DEUTERONOMY) on guitars and bass and DM (HELIOSS, THE WHOLE TRUTH) on vocals are streaming their debut release "Massive Retaliation". The album features thirteen tracks and can be streamed in the band´s Bandcamp site (check below). "Massive Retaliation" was released on June 21st. 

SEROCS RELEASE "VORE" EP

Mexican brutal technical death metal band SEROCS will release their new EP "Vore" on June 26th. The EP features five new tracks and two demo tracks extracted from their 2011 demo. "Vore" is the follow up to the band´s "The Phobos / Deimos Suite" album released in 2018. The band has also released a compilation of demos and rare stuff on 2020. The compilation is entitled "Demos & Rarities". "Vore" was recorded, mixed and mastered at Roarrr Sound Studio, Montreal. Drums were recorded at Paradise Lounge Studio, FR. THECODONTION RELEASE "SUPERCONTINENT"

Italian black death metal band THECODONTION, featuring members of BATHRAKOS and DEATHVOID will release their new album "Supercontinent" on June 26th. The new album is the debut full length release by the band and the follow up to their "Thecodontia" demo released in 2018 and "Jurassic" EP released in 2019. "Supercontinent" was recorded at Snakes Studio (Rome, Italy) by Guglielmo Nodari and mixed and mastered at Necromorbus Studio (Stockholm, Sweden) by Marco Salluzzo. More info on:

CYTOTOXIN STREAMS OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO FOR "LUPUS AURORA"

Unique Leader Records is straming the official lyric video from German technical brutal death metal band CYTOTOXIN of rthe track "Lupus Aurora". The tune is one of the eleven tracks contained on the band´s new album "Nuklearth" that will be released on August 21st. MASTERY STREAMS TRACKS FROM "GENERATIONS WASHED IN METAL"

Brazilian thrash heavy metal band MASTERY is streaming tracks from their new album "Generations Washed in Metal" released on June 17th on YouTube (check below these lines). The album is a compilation of tracks from the two EPs that the band released in the mid 1990s, "Generation Washed in Blood" from 1995 and "Loom" from 1997.
