On July 16th 1991, death metal masters IMMOLATION released their debut album "Dawn of Possession". The album was recorded and mixed at the famous Musiclab Studios, Berlin, Germany and was released through R/C Records, a label that at the time featured many underground death metal bands and interesting musicians. The album features IMMOLATION classics such as "Into Everlasting Fire", "Burial Ground" or the title track. The line-up that recorded the album was: Ross Dolanon Vocals and Bass; Robert Vigna on Guitars; Tom Wilkinson on Guitars and Craig Smilowski on Drums. Luxembourg one man gothic doom death metal band DEFORMATION GUARANTEED, featuring BLACK CANDLE and OLD PAGAN´s Rune Tristanne will release its debut album "Pagan Girl" on July 17th. This is the third DEFORMATION GUARANTEED release (there are two demos "Miss Luxembitch" and "No Ghosts at Daylight" released in 2005 and 2007) and there will be a compilation "Fire Walk With Us" released soon. Colombian death metal band BONESTORM will release their new album "The Emptiness of Life and Death" on July 17th. The band´s second album will be released through Green Revolution on digipack format and also in a box set containing the digipack, a flag and postals. Panama black death metal band ABATUAR will release their new album "Mortandad" on July 18th. This is ABATUAR´s second album, and the first release since 2019 split with MORBID FUNERAL (the band´s debut album "Perversiones de Muerte Putrefacta" released in 2017). PRESS RELEASE: This Friday, July 17th, Ottawa, Canada’s Blackened Death metallers SERENE DARK will unleash their new album “Enantiodromia”.
The album was written and recorded over a period of 3 years in 3 different recording studios. Drums were tracked at Wolf Lake Studios in Wakefield, QC. Guitars, Bass and Vocals were tracked at Steeple Hill Recordings in Ottawa, ON and the album was Mixed and Mastered at the Bond Cave in Ottawa, ON.
Drums were written and recorded by Suffocation drummer Eric Morotti. Morotti has been a long time friend of the band and was brought in as a session drummer for the album in 2018 before Nick Rodgers joined the band in late 2019.
The concept and title of the album is “Enantiodromia” a principle introduced in the West by psychiatrist Carl Jung, the tendency of things to change into their opposites, the emergence of the unconscious opposite in the course of time. Quotes and audio clips of the late psychiatrist Carl Jung can be heard throughout the album.

“The album explores the confrontation between the shadow aspect of the personality and the integration of it into the self to create wholeness. The album, lyrically, is a journey towards individuation by the exploration of human darkness and transforming that pain into something tangible and meaningful. Under the name Endemise, the band released Far From The Light (2013) and Anathema (2016), but now with the new name, SERENE DARK have made a refreshing start with elements of the previous band still lingering, but taking the songs and style to a new level on this record and experimented with various instruments and vocal styles. This album sets a new calibre and standard for SERENE DARK.
