HADES CONFIRMED FOR HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR 2012

HADES, the technical metal band that reunited in 2010 will play the Headbangers Open Air Festical in Germany in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of their "Resisting Success" album. HADES will play songs from their first two albums, "Resisting Success" and "If At First You Don't Succeed". The band´s lineup of the reunited band consists of Dan Lorenzo on guitars, Scott Le Page on guitars, Alan Tecchio on vocals, Tom Coombs on drums and Kevin Bolembach on bass

HYPOCRISY RELEASES NEW DVD

HYPOCRISY will be releasing a new DVD on October 14th through Nuclear Blast. The DVD will be entitled "Hell Over Sofia - 20 Years Of Chaos And Confusion". The DVD includes a live show recorded in 2010 and a 90 minutes long documentary about the band.

ABSU NEW TRACK ONLINE STREAM

ABSU has released the track "Abraxas Connexus" from their highly-anticipated new full-length, "Abzu!"  via massive media portal Pitchfork Media. "Abraxas Connexus" is the third track from the forthcoming album. You can check the new track RIGHT HERE!

ABSU's  sixth full-length opus, Abzu, is set for North American release on October 4th. The band's second album for international heavyweight Candlelight Records, Abzu is the second part of a trilogy of recordings from the band. Recorded at Nomad Recording Studios in Carrollton, Texas, Abzu finds drummer/vocalist Proscriptor and bassist/vocalist Ezezu sharing equal vocal duties and debuts the skills of new guitarist Vis Crom. The record was mixed by J.T. Longoria (King Diamond/Solitude Aeternus), and features original cover art from Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak (Watain, Behemoth, Destroyer 666, Vader).

MOURNFUL CONGREGATION WILL RELEASE COMPILATION ALBUM NEXT WEEK

Funeral doom icons MOURNFUL CONGREGATION have signed with 20 Buck Spin Recs. for the North American release of two full-length releases. The first of the pair, a compilation of out-of-print tracks entitled The Unspoken Hymns, acts as a prologue for the band's newly completed, monumental, brand new full-length album, The Book Of Kings.

20 Buck Spin has posted a full album stream of the The Unspoken Hymns compilation ahead of its September 20th release date. Fans can check out the oppressive five tracks at this location.

The label also this week confirms the details for MOURNFUL CONGREGATION's brand new full-length The Book Of Kings, now officially confirmed for North American release on November 8th. Undoubtedly serving not only as a pinnacle release for the band, dating back through their nearly 20-year history, it is also a landmark release in the extreme doom subgenre as a whole. The album consumes nearly 80 minutes, and takes the listener on a turbulent journey through both imperial nobility and crestfallen, tarnished hope.

THE PETE FLESH DEATHTRIP: TRACK FROM THE NEW ALBUM ONLINE

THE PETE FLESH DEATHTRIP, the band lead by Pete Flesh (ex. Deceiver, Thrown & Maze of Torment) is releasing on early 2012 their new album "Mortui Vivos Docent".This is the band`s fourth album after "Dödsångest", "Temple of Whores" and "Worship the Soul of Disgust" and will be released on Pulverised Records. They have posted a track from the new album on Youtube. The track is called "Crave the Fire" and you can check it here.

The band also feature Andreas Jonsson (Tyrant, Vinterland, The Black) on guest session drums and also  Micke Broberg (Unanimated, Celestial Pain) on guest session vocals on half of the album. The album was recorded on Studio Beast with Peter Bjärgö (Crypt of Kerberos, Tyrant, The Black, Arcana etc.) as producer.

TAAKE TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM ON NOVEMBER

TAAKE will release their fifth studio album, "Noregs Vaapen", on November 1st. TAAKE have refined their respected black metal sound, expanding this time around to include new elements. The album is filled with Hoest's trademark riffs, melodies and vocals, but also embraces the unpredictable -- more black 'n' roll grooves, ice-cold mellotrons and Southern-inspired banjo.

 

Noregs Vaapen was produced by Bjørnar E. Nilsen (Dead to this World, The Batallion, Helheim, Vulture Industries, etc.) and features guest appearances by  Nocturno Culto (Darkthrone), Attila Csihar (Mayhem) and Demonaz (Immortal).

The band’s previous album, simply titled Taake, was released in the U.S. via Century Media.

MEGATON LEVIATHAN ON TOUR WITH WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM

Portland, Oregon doom-gazers MEGATON LEVIATHAN will join Wolves In The Throne Room on the already-in-motion Celestial Lineage tour for a near two-week East Coast run of dates. The band recently reissued their 2009 self-titled demo EP on limited-edition vinyl through their own Volatile Rock Records. Offering up 35-minutes of raw, ethereal riffing and postrock atmosphere, the remastered demo is limited to 500 copies and will be available throughout the tour.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS RECORDING NEW ALBUM

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has started recording their third full-length album.  The process begins in the band’s new home of Southern California as the band enter Keene Machine Studios with The Faceless’ Michael Keene and band frontman Ken Sorceron engineering. Former ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and Black Dahlia Murder drummer Zach Gibson will be playing on the album, as previous band mate Ken Bedene focuses on The Aborted.

“We are very excited to announce the start of drum tracking for our third full-length. Drummer Zach Gibson will be behind the kit on this record, which is exciting for us because we have not recorded with him since the Legend EP,” states Sorceron. Having recently returned from a short ten date regional tour tightening up their new five-piece line-up, the band’s ranks and sound continue to evolve and this third effort is no different. “Expect some interesting twists and turns once again with this album as we plan to double track some of the drums and some of the compositions are quite lengthy, one even reaching the 15-minute plus range. This will prove to be our most epic material to date,” teases Sorceron as to the direction of the new material. “We plan to video our progress and upload video blogs as we go.”

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will continue recording the new album over the next month, set for completion in late October before embarking on their previously announced North American tour supporting Norway’s legendary Mayhem. The new album has an anticipated January release, followed by additional US tours supporting Dark Funeral and then Deicide.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES FRONTMAN TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM

From the mind of the original Cyco, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES/INFECTIOUS GROOVES mastermind Mike Muir takes us on a journey into his world with the release of The Mad Mad Muir Musical Tour. With a 63-minute run time, the album features new tracks from CYCO MIKO, as well as previously unreleased INFECTIOUS GROOVES tunes that highlight where the band has been as well as where the band is headed. The Mad Mad Muir Musical Tour features 14-track and includes appearances by Mike Trujillo (now with Metallica), Fletcher Dragge (Pennywise) and Brooks Wackerman.
