VARG RELEASE "ZEICHEN" VIDEO

German melodic death / black metal VARG has just released a video for the track "Zeichen" (check below these lines). The tune is the title track of the band´s new album, their seventh one, that will be released on September 18th through Napalm Records. The video was produced by Oliver König.

"The wolves of VARG return to their roots with their seventh full-length album, Zeichen (engl. “signs”), to be released on September 18, 2020 via Napalm Records. The album marks a new era of the wolves haunted by wild battles, death and bloodlust - a resurrection from the fields of Pagan Metal, pairing razor-sharp melodic death riffs with Freki's furious vocals. Forget anything you have seen or heard about them in the past few years and embrace the new album as a reboot of a band that never ceased to evolve and has gotten rid of everything superfluous".

VARG sets an uncompromising sign with first monumental single “Zeichen” (engl. signs), which comes along with an official video and introduces the concept behind their upcoming offering. Visually and lyrically, their first single draws the listener deep into the Viking era, picturing their traditions, a strong community cohesion, ancient runes, the old gods and their beliefs. The chorus gets stuck in your head, coalesces with the blasting power of riffs and perfectly showcases the reincarnation of VARG. ”Zeichen” is the ultimate hymn heralding the age of the wolves.

Singer Freki states:
“”Zeichen” is the heart of our new album, maybe even of the "new" VARG. It was important to us to release the title song first along with an official music video, since it reflects the energy of our new full-length both musically and visually, and invites our fans to the legendary era of the Vikings. Follow us on a journey!”

AYR RELEASE "THE DARK" ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:
US black metallers AYR will release their highly anticipated first full-length, "The Dark", on 24th July 2020.

The Dark. Hardly a record takes such an unassuming yet fittingly title as the reappearance of AYR through its first sign of life after eight lengthy years of slumber, after nothing was left to give.

"The Dark" is undeniably bursting with a profound darkness, a deep dive into the wicked and chthonic essence of the soul. From the evocative acoustic chords of "Origins in Descent" to the mammoth of heaviness and belligerence, an epic discharge where all light dies, the North Carolina duo sets the tone for a gargantuan ride into hidden regions of the self.

Thru Black Metal as the foundation for the group's recipe, AYR does not shy away from variation. Considering a torrent of audial traits, from full on ambient landscapes to mesmerizing melodies filled with anguish and melancholy, one is faced with a barrage of intensely grand riffing and tasteful rhythmic section, dynamic, vibrant, a superb accomplice to the anguished wailing that viscerally permeate throughout “The Dark”.

AYR's vision stands fixated Below, where the Void is worshipped, an essence which very much pervades all over the album's music, sound, visual and lyrical aesthetics.

Released through Wolves of Hades on a limited Vinyl edition, with The Hell Command releasing the CD and Cassette version, we welcome AYR’s return with “The Dark”, the perfect soundtrack to a world swallowed by a thick impenetrable fog.

Album tracklist:

01. Origins in Descent
02. Where All Light Dies
03. Worship the Dark
04. Swallowed
05. Return to the Void
06. Sever the Golden Chain

RECORRUPTOR ANNOUNCE "THE FUNERAL CORRIDOR" RELEASE

PRESS RELEASE:
Lansing, Michigan-based death metallers RECORRUPTOR are proud to officially announce their sophomore album, The Funeral Corridor, which is set for release on Friday, August 21st. It is the follow up to the band's 2017 debut album, Bloodmoon. The Funeral Corridor was recorded and mixed at Broken Monolith Studios and mastered by Rivers of Nihil guitarist Brody Uttley.

Formed in 2013, the group has spent a number of years honing their craft playing live shows as well as releasing their debut album Bloodmoon in 2017. Fast-forward to 2020, and RECORRUPTOR is ready to unleash an eclectic and impressive death metal feast on The Funeral Corridor that is guaranteed to thrill fans of the genre.

The Funeral Corridor is the clear work of musicians who eat, sleep and breathe death metal and keenly draw inspiration from both early legendary acts and highly praised modern acts as well. The end result makes for a multi-faceted listening experience with a bit of something for everyone combined with complex and mature songwriting throughout all nine tracks on the album.

The Funeral Corridor is strongly recommended for fans of bands the group cites as influences which include CATTLE DECAPITATION, CANNIBAL CORPSE, ABORTED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, IMMOLATION and EMPEROR.

RECORRUPTOR Band Statement Regarding The Funeral Corridor:
"The Funeral Corridor is a testament to everything that Recorruptor embodies, from sheer velocity to concrete weight in the guitar riffing, the blasting drums, and the catastrophic vocalization. The Funeral Corridor is a concept record, creating one large story dealing with acceptance in loss, the inner decline of man, and the futility of disobeying the natural law of order. This is all set in a vivid landscape of terror, displayed through mystically dark euphemism and emotional grief. As the lyrics paint the picture, the instrumentation is the foundation and matches the idea of the lyricism in a pleasantly horrifying manner. "

RECORRUPTOR - The Funeral Corridor Line-Up; Clint A. Franklin - Vocals, Seth Earl - Guitars, Josh Moore - Drums (Summon), Alex Schmidt - Bass (From Blue To Gray), Dustin Cook - Guitars
