BURIAL PATH RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO: "A DISPLAY OF PENANCE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Ferocious post-deathcore act BURIAL PATH present their latest single "A Display of Penance". The unfaltering brutality of this shadowy offering sees the band present a haunting sonic display of enduring struggles with mental illness.

An introspective and raw track, lyrically "A Display of Penance" draws upon parasitic imagery to illustrate the ongoing and often repeating nature of depression. BURIAL PATH craft an eerie atmosphere that bleeds through the single's crushing instrumental arrangement.

Vocalist Maya Pobst shares, "'A Display of Penance' is a song about mental health and how it can latch on like a psychological parasite. Most of the song is from the parasite's perspective, finding its new victim to latch onto and corrupt from the inside." Pobst continues, "Over time, the host almost finds comfort in the familiarity of the Parasite despite the great deal of pain it's causing. As we move into the interlude and verse 2, the host has decided to fight back against its mental oppressor and seeks to destroy it, only for it to eventually come back and be ever so present by the end of the song. To me this represents the cyclic journey of dealing with mental illness and experiencing the periods of mania versus depression."

In "A Display of Penance," BURIAL PATH deliver a monstrous onslaught comprised of intense, thundering percussion, violent rhythms and Pobst's monstrous gutturals. Injecting melodic orchestral strings and ghostly piano notes, the band ventures further into the otherworldly as it enhances the enveloping darkness.

Encompassed in ritualistic symbolism of decay, the accompanying music video brings to life the disturbing figure of the parasite along with the harrowing pain and solitude it represents.

STERILIZING THE DECEASED RELEASE "NOTHING"

PRESS RELEASE:

Emerging from the emotional depths of Cleveland, OH's deathcore underground, Sterilizing The Deceased announces the release of their soul-crushing third EP, “Nothing”, now available as of August 1st, 2025. This five-track record dives headfirst into addiction, loss, and recovery, offering a raw and reflective listening experience unlike anything fans have heard from them before.

Formed during frontman Angelo Vespucci’s final year of high school, the band quickly evolved from high-energy house shows to writing deeply personal and musically ferocious work.

“I just wanted to start a band with my buddies, and this is where we began,” says Vespucci.

That seed has since grown into a sonic force of heavy, atmospheric, emotional, and aggressive music ready to be discovered on their new EP “Nothing”. This new offering is their most refined and impactful release to date. It is more than music; it's a mirror held up to the darkest parts of the soul. With themes of drug addiction and suicide, it chronicles Vespucci’s personal battles through an intense fiction-meets-nonfiction lens. From the reflective chaos of “Recovery” to the redemptive blast of “Awake,” each track brings fans closer to their emotional reckoning.

Vespucci comments:

"This EP has the real and raw emotion behind it, unlike some other previous pieces of work, as we were finding our sound. What I want people to take away from this album after listening to it is a personal reflection on oneself. Never straying too far from your path by getting lost in the darkness. Also, realizing other people in this world are dealing with the same pain you might be experiencing, and it’s okay to feel like that, just know there is always a way out back into the light."

The writing process is led by John Hruby and Angelo Vespucci, blending communal riff-building with emotionally charged lyricism. The band’s evolution from high school chaos to mature sonic expression is evident throughout the EP’s structure and themes. Musically, the band channels influences like Reflections, Chelsea Grin, and Lorna Shore, while pulling inspiration from genres such as melodic deathcore and progressive metalcore.

The chilling album artwork for "Nothing" features a demon forcing a chalice on a resisting figure, a metaphor for battling addiction and the constant struggle to reclaim control. It’s as haunting and visceral as the music it represents.

Sterilizing The Deceased's “Nothing” hits streaming now on all digital platforms.

SEA SLEEPER RELEASE "NOSTOPHOBIA" ON VINYL

PRESS RELEASE:

Sea Sleeper

Nostophobia

Metal Assault

5 November 2021

Following the success of their debut record ‘Nostophobia’, Portland based post death/ prog band Sea Sleeper and unleashing the album on vinyl via Metal Assault Records.

“‘Nostophobia’ was always meant to be a vinyl experience. To our supporters, friends, and Metal Assault Records, thank you! You were all vital in the orchestration of our vision.”

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Sea Sleeper were quick to reach out to the community, from which they formed, and organize a benefit comp that raised over $1000 in relief funds for music promoters. Their devotion to the underground is an attitude guaranteed to take them far.

‘Nostophobia’ delivers a hard-hitting sound from beginning to end. Opening with the intense ‘Salt’, the album begins a journey through heavily distorted instrumentation, obliterating harsh vocals, and utterly ludicrous energy from the percussion. Dynamic clean vocals, such as in ‘Old Guard’, enhance the texture of their sound without losing the all-encompassing dark atmosphere. Whilst ‘Mountain Carver’ delves into technical realms with intricate melodies and riffs running throughout, accompanied by dissonant chord progressions. Influenced by the likes of Gorguts and Gojira or even Mastodon and Blut Aus Nord, Sea Sleeper experiment with crossing genre boundaries and manipulating different styles.

The vinyl release of ‘Nostophobia’ seeks to celebrate the success granted to them so early in their career. Despite the troubles of the pandemic, they are hard at work on their second album and are determined to support the underground scene that has cultivated their music.
