The enchanting hard rock band OCCULT WITCHES will release its 4th full-length album, Sorrow's Pyre, on July 12th, 2024 via Black Throne Productions. By combining elements of 70s hard rock with blues and baroque classical music, OCCULT WITCHES creates moody, mystical atmospheres that recall their love for bands such as DEEP PURPLE, LED ZEPPELIN, and BLACK SABBATH. Sorrow's Pyre offers a collection of imaginative narratives about witches, magic, corruption, and the nature of faith. The songs tell their stories through the eyes of many different characters as they each navigate their own internal and external conflicts. The overarching theme of the album ties these stories together with a focus on the dangers of making evil choices, as nearly every song presents its main character with a choice between good and evil in different settings. These themes take on a new life with the band's unique combination of musical influences, which sound both nostalgic and forward-thinking in the same way that their influences did. 

The band comments, "Overall, the album talks a lot about Satan and making bad choices, where that takes you. Also witches and not having a pure soul. The first edition of "Redefining Nothingness" by MEMORIES OF A LOST SOUL is almost sold out and with the band we have decided to give birth to a new pressing of the album completely remastered by band's mastermingd Giuseppe "Buzz" Nicolò at his own Lost Soul Studios with the addition of 3 bonus tracks taken from the band's previous work "Distorted Perceptionz", also remastered.

Grieving Bloom's sophomore EP named 'Clouds Of May' deals with themes of spring time - in analogy to life. It combines blackened metal riffs, dynamic post punk vibes and calm guitar parts with diverse harsh and clean vocals spread across five songs.

Even though it has a warmer, more post punkish sound in relation to the debut EP, it is filled with grief, sadness and Weltschmerz. Unlike a joyful floating through time and space in a returning cycle of growth, bloom and warmth, it portrays the feeling of falling behind and being out of touch with the outside world while struggling with oneself.

The main brain behind Grieving Bloom says:

"I wrote the songs for this release in April 2021 and recorded and mixed it numerous times in the following spring seasons until 2024. Taking years to finally finish it makes this record even more important for myself, for those songs are deeply personal.

DARKEND is the band fronted by Animae (also guest vocalist for GAAHL’S WYRD on various European festivals & venues).

After rather humble beginnings mostly inspired by orchestral extreme metal, DARKEND developed a quite peculiar artistic style blending black metal patterns, ritual ambience, dark classic metal riffs and solos in the vein of Mercyful Fate/Angel Witch and a ritualistic, hypnotic vibe explicitly created in order to generate a deep sonic & spiritual transcendence.

Having toured Europe thrice alongside CRADLE OF FILTH, ROTTING CHRIST, SAMAEL, MELECHESH & KEEP OF KALESSIN, the band had the privilege to collaborate with some of the most renowned artists of the scene: while Attila Csihar (MAYHEM), Niklas Kvarforth (SHINING) & Sakis Tolis (ROTTING CHRIST) offered their voices for “The Canticle Of Shadows” (2016, Non Serviam Records), the profound friendship between Gaahl & Animae bloomed a breathtaking collaboration with WARDRUNA’s Lindy-Fay Hella immortalized on the album “Spiritual Resonance” (2019, Dark Essence Records).

The band displays some intense live rituals under their belt (culminated with an exhibition at the iconic Norwegian MIDGARDSBLOT FEST 2022 alongside WARDRUNA, HELIUNG & ROTTING CHRIST), an experience not to be missed.
