Blackened Death-Doom band SIDUS ATRUM released an official video for the song “Коли Земля Кричала (When The Earth Was Screaming)” on March 22, 2024 on the band’s YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/taBcVD63wzo

When a person loses their humanity and transforms into a beast that rapes, tortures, and kills everyone in their path, not sparing even kids, the Earth cries out in pain, lamenting the birth of such children and longing to draw them back into its embrace. “Коли Земля Кричала (When The Earth Was Screaming)” reflects our emotions caused by the events in Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel and other occupied towns and villages of Ukraine. Such terrible things should have no place in this world.

The main theme of the music video that filmed in summer 2023 in Hostomel, Irpin and Kozhanka is war and children, lost lives, stolen childhood and the necessity to continue living amidst war conditions.

The project was originally formed in 2015 by Yulia Lykhotvor (music, lyrics, vocals), the debut album was released in 2019. In 2021 Sidus Atrum was signed by Kvlt und Kaos Productions for the new album “Spiral Of Life” that was released in March 2022. The album was recorded with two guest musicians - Serhii Lykhotvor (Sad Alice Said, bass) who helped with arrangement and Daniel Neagoe (Clouds) who recorded vocals in duet with Yulia for the song “Rain Brings Your Voice”. In 2022 Serhii Lykhotvor joined Sidus Atrum as a regular member of the project.

On the forthcoming EP Valira comments: 

"I Am A Demon goes through the transformation of my identity. It flows from self hatred, to release, ritual and thus transformation, closing on the disconnect between soul and body. Musically there are elements of decay illustrated by a gradual increase in dissonance and unexpected change alongside black metal tropes."

On the importance of the new project, Valira continues, "[m]usic, in general, has meant a lot to me for many years but this project is on a different level in terms of purpose. I have never had such a strong emotional response to my own music."

About VESSELES:

VESSELES (veh-sel-is) is the exciting first solo project from 10-year West Coast Metal veteran Valira (LEGION OF GRANDEUR, AMONG THE TORRENT, ARCANE EXISTENCE) who wraps an exploration of identity dysphoria in layers of symphonic black metal.  A demon living among humans and struggling with the vessel she was born in, she turned to music before understanding its significance. Many years later, she found her true self and the importance of expressing that as loud and proud as possible. Its result, VESSELES (a spin on the word vessel) a study of self-identity and pushing the boundaries of the human dominant world.

Message From the Artist:

Mist and Myth explores our hubris and peril against nature and forces beyond our control. Simultaneously, it criticizes the use of obscurity and fiction in the wake of existential peril. Out of tribulations, a new album by Srd - 'Vragvmesiton'.

After four years of silence since their last release and with only a handful of live performances in the meantime, Srd spawn their third full-length release baptised as vragvmesiton. The naming itself undoubtedly unfamiliar to a foreigner, pays no homage to a native either. While coinage is theirs alone and for that matter translation into lingua franca of our time too difficult to bother, the idea within – which is that of temptations and limitations of flesh in feud with reason yet transcendence of the spirit; that of chaos opposed to order and form; that of Dionysian against Apollonian; that of abhorred standing against divine – is familiar to us all.

While the core aesthetic is still that of Srd, music and prophet-like vocal utterance nevertheless convey a different dimension. From wordplays and chants, to the use of Slovenian unique north-eastern dialect; not fearing instrumental experimentations, although still accompanied by a slow-paced rock’n’rollish black metal. Safe paths leaning onto unsafe and untested territories, similar as the contrasting idea within, such are the aesthetic conflicts of vragvmesiton as well.
