Finland’s death metal pacesetters CORPSESSED celebrate their 15th anniversary with the release of the brand-new album Succumb to Rot via Dark Descent Records on April 22, 2022. Vinyl will come later in 2022 through Dark Descent (North America) / Me Saco Un Ojo (Europe) collaboration.

The unholy union of CORPSESSED and Dark Descent Records, which began with 2011’s highly acclaimed The Dagger & the Chalice EP, endures to this day. Both entities have since gone to transform the shape of the death underground as we know it, carving out a unique niche reserved only for true old-school zealots. With a steady line-up of seven years in place and a strong foothold on the top of the death metal hierarchy, CORPSESSED delivers an arrogantly superior milestone of atmospheric old-school death metal enveloped in existential dread.

“One circle closes only for another to begin anew. This is the logical conclusion to ‘Impetus of Death’ where the limits of human existence give us a push to even do things in life (art being the pinnacle) – ‘Succumb to Rot’ is the inevitable end where all things must eventually die and give in to the relentless forces of entropy, and disintegrate into nothingness,” reflects guitarist M.M.

The mentally distressing artwork by Vladimir 'Smerdulak' Chebakov also continues a tradition of exceptional CORPSESSED album covers. Succumb to Rot was produced, recorded, and mixed by M.M. At Furnace 5034 from October 2020 to January 2021. The album was mastered by D. Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studio. Analog synths on Succumb to Rot were performed by L.Lindqvist.

TYRANTS OF CHAOS RELEASE NEW TRACK "SLAY THE HOSTAGES"

Lethbridge, Canada's Tyrants of Chaos have been pillaging across Alberta with their old-school classic heavy metal and are now amping up the ante with 10 new bangers on their third studio album "Relentless Thirst for Power" set to be unleashed this coming August.

Earlier this July, they shared their first single "T.O.C." and are ready to share their second track off the record to preview to fans. Entitled "Slay the Hostages", Tyrants of Chaos present a Judas Priest style, ear piercing, balls-out metal assault. Lyrically similar to "T.O.C.", "Slay the Hostages" sounds like a song about committing crimes and sacrifices, but it is simply about playing metal shows and entertaining the crowd as can be witnessed in the music video for the single via its premiere on Metal-Rules HERE.

Tyrants of Chaos' new album “Relentless Thirst For Power” covers a lot of topics lyrically, listeners will be able to dive into songs such as the classic Teutonic power metal track “Indoctri-Nation”, which focuses on mental health issues to the “No Lives Matter” ballad that forces one to confront their mortality; and the classic “Lucky Dog” that is reminiscent of the 80s sounds of the Big 4.

Formed in 2013 for the love and passion of music by guitarist Curtiss Vaselenak and to fill a gap in the local scene, the band originally started as a fun hard rock and metal cover band. After some shuffling, he is now joined by guitarist Arik Wagner, bassist Sean Simpson, drummer Ryan Dyck, and vocalist Phil Sirias who complete the current lineup. With many years of experience between them, they bring professionalism and solid musicianship to both the stage and the studio.

Tyrants of Chaos already have two albums under their belts, “The Calm Before The Storm” (2016) and “Into Oblivion” (2019), and this new offering consists of ten fist-pumping, head-banging tracks that were written specifically for this album. It is just scratching the surface of what the band has in store, they don't intend to slow down anytime soon.

Heavy and loud, Tyrants Of Chaos delivers a solid pummeling of pure heavy metal. No gimmicks, no gags, just passion, and honesty. They are recommended listening for fans of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Megadeth.

FRAGMENTUM RELEASE NEW SINGLE "QUIRIGUA SUCCESORS"

Belgian melodic dark metal band FRAGMENTUM has released a brand new track, “Quirigua Successors.” The song is a continuation of the Mayan themes explored in the band’s 2021 release, Masters of Complexity.

FRAGMENTUM guitarist/vocalist Jan Bruggeman comments on the single, “’Quirigua Successors’ is a song about a Mayan clan that endured, but survived Clash Of The Clans and Feast Of The Flesh, as described in our previous album Masters Of Perplexity. The album ends with ‘Secrets Of The Stones,’ like extinguished Maya settlements do, but the Quirigua people are a strong and smart clan. Will they reveal these secrets and who knows what else the future brings for them?”

FRAGMENTUM is a melodic dark metal band from Lokeren, Belgium founded by Jan Bruggeman and Gunnar Nopens, accompanied on stage by Wouter Macaré (drums) and Ozzy Voskuilen (bass). The band has been described as a hybrid of Depeche Mode and In Flames, featuring melodies, synths, and ambient sounds combined with heavy riffs and crushing grooves.

In 2019, FRAGMENTUM released its first full-length album, Pugnacity, which showcased a more straightforward approach than earlier material. The album’s lyrics were focused on personal turmoil and inner struggle.

A concept album, titled Masters Of Perplexity was released in 2021. This album explored Mayan history and philosophy, each song a chapter in an elaborate and epic story. After the album’s release, FRAGMENTUM embarked on a short tour across Eastern Europe.

You can experience the band’s most recent creation, a single titled “Quirigua Successors” this summer. The song is a precursor of their next full-length album, coming later this year.

FOGOS RELEASE "CORPSES AND ASHES"

Fogos is a black metal band from Barcelona formed in 2021 with the purpose of practicing a direct, raw and aggressive style, full of energy, and designed to shake the listener. This sound so characteristic of the Nordic waves of the nineties has led them to be described and compared in their style to bands like Marduk, Gorgoroth, Carpathian Forest or Deathspell Omega, from which they have received a strong influence.

The band is formed by four musicians with a lot of experience in the local scene, all of them ex-members of other bands with a long trajectory such as Abrahel, Blazemth, Erial or Obsidian Kingdom.

The band’s concept embraces the ancestors, paganism and the purification of the fire from which the band’s name, Fogos, comes from: the fire that illuminates and builds, but also destroys, as the origin from which the band starts to cover the main themes they deal with: fatalism, nihilism, death and the human psyche.

After a year dedicated to the composition of new songs, we present you our album “Corpses and Ashes” which was released on July 29th, 2022, a one-way trip down the river Styx full of dark, raw and direct black metal reminiscent of the mid 90’s scene, but with an updated sound to appreciate the nuances and essence more clearly.

The recording and mixing has been in charge of Javi Félez from Moontower Studio (Barcelona), being mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studios (California). Sónia Chaves also collaborated on the vocals for the introduction of the track entitled Khione. On the graphic side, Fogos has counted with the collaboration of Beren, both for the original artwork and cover design, as well as in the development of the digipack edition and other graphic aspects to support the band.

“Corpses and Ashes” has been released in a first self-released limited edition of 100 copies in digipack format.
