WEED DEMON RELEASE "THE DOOM SCROLL"

PRESS RELEASE:

Weed Demon

The Doom Scroll

Electric Valley Records

31 January 2025

Weed Demon returns with their third LP, The Doom Scroll, revamping their sludged-out stoner doom with death/thrashing atrocity, often weaving through hallucinatory dungeon synth passages. Scheduled for 31 January 2025 via Electric Valley Records, this new album will be available on three vinyl variants as well as on digital platforms.

The audio equivalent of bong water spilled on a Ouija board, Weed Demon is a 4-piece sludge ‘n’ roll stoner metal band from Columbus, OH. Over the last decade, they have released an EP and two full-length albums, steadily building their presence in the stoner rock and sludge metal scenes. As they continue to push the boundaries of their sound, Weed Demon captivates audiences with relentless creativity and a crushing cosmic vision. Whether through thunderous riffs or ethereal explorations, they invite listeners on a journey into the far reaches of sound and imagination.

It’s been nearly a decade since Weed Demon exhaled a cloud of riffs over the doom metal scene with their debut EP, Stoned to Death. Since then, they’ve consistently delivered a steady dose of sludgy, groove-laden stoner doom potent enough to make Beelzebub himself bang his horns. Their last release, Crater Maker, dropped during the pandemic and saw the band reaching new heights of heaviness while staying true to their signature doom groove worship.

Never ones to revisit the same playbook twice, the Demon boys are back with The Doom Scroll, a reinvention of their signature sludge ‘n’ roll style of doom. Equal parts unrelenting and crushing, yet infused with heavy blues-inspired riffage, this new chapter sees Weed Demon expanding their sonic horizons like never before, with the help of Stoneripper Studios. Expect doom, gloom, sludge, thrash, death, blues, and even a dash of dungeon synth for good measure. The Doom Scroll is a packed bowl, and Weed Demon is giving you the first hit.

The vinyl edition of The Doom Scroll includes a secret track—a cover of Frank Zappa’s “Willy the Pimp,” a classic reknown for Captain Beefheart’s idiosyncratic vocal grit and Zappa’s epic, extended guitar solo.

MUTANK RELEASE VIDEO FOR "THINK BEFORE YOU THINK"

PRESS RELEASE:

Rattling the moshpits worldwide with their new album "Think Before You Think" on Boonsdale Records, Montreal, Canada's MUTANK is offering a slab of new mind-blowing speed thrash with their latest video "Channel Change". It's a song about media melting your brain and your choice to either form something new from it yourself or let them do it for you.

Watch the video for "Channel Change" via its premiere on MetalAddicts HERE.

MUTANK made a big impression on the Canadian metal scene in 2014 with their debut EP "M.E.C.H METAL". In that same year, they were also declared champions of the Wacken Metal Battle Canada which garnered them a performance at Wacken Open Air (Live Video - https://youtu.be/yQrLaG8BPL4). By 2017, the band took their distinctive sound and hit the road to tour across Canada supporting ANNIHILATOR alongside Australia's MASON in support of their highly praised EP "W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T" (Boonsdale Records). Metal Injection also named MUTANK "1 of 8 Hidden Gems in Canadian Metal You Need To Know" (Read here).

After a short hiatus, MUTANK has exploded back on the scene with their new album "Think Before You Think" unleashed this past November. The new album features a rampage of ten thrash happy tracks with fan favourites such as "Running Reds", "Abortron", and "Thrash Primordial". With a passion for classic thrash and a desire to play radical riffs, MUTANK made

"This is Thrash for Metalheads by Metalheads! We have evolved from crossover to a more refined thrash band with longer and more intricate songs, it can be a bit proggy… The level of seriousness in songwriting is evident in the new album. We want this album to energize people and make them feel the way we do when we listen to some of our favourite artists. This album is the most material we have ever put out! 50 minutes of pure metal across 10 tracks. The songs picked themselves as we kept writing tracks we enjoyed playing. Lyrically we cover a lot of ground from the economy to time travel.” adds the band.

Moving into 2025, MUTANK plans to be a tour de force to support "Think Before You Think". Fans of D.R.I., Suicidal Tendencies, Havok, Megadeth, Overkill, and Exodus are sure to join them in the circle pit.

AVENGER OF BLOOD RELEASE "REVENGE IS MY NAME"

PRESS RELEASE:

Death/Thrash Metal stalwarts AVENGER OF BLOOD sign to M-Theory Audio and bring you a new single/lyric video entitled “Revenge Is My Name.” Ripping and ruthless, “Revenge Is My Name” takes no prisoners in its all-out assault as the band pummels and crushes all in their wake. Listen now on all digital platforms or watch HERE https://youtu.be/gw0rwLRaQeo?si=4YOFATR15dyMlojr

"’Revenge Is My Name’ is a song about violence and anger! The inspiration came from our love of slasher and horror films, as well as a lot of the first-person perspectives you see on social media and such these days,” explains drummer Shannon Frye. “The world can be a violent place, and songs like this are an outlet for those who experience the same thing."

“Revenge Is My Name” is the first slice from the band’s forthcoming EP of the same name. The ‘Revenge Is My Name’ EP features four new songs from the re-energized quintet and will be released April 25th on limited (200 copies) throes of ash colored vinyl and CD. Preorders launch today HERE https://lnk.to/avengerofblood

"We are excited to work with Marco and the M-Theory Audio staff,” states Shannon. “Having been friends for a long time and knowing Marco's dedication, work ethic and knowledge, we knew we made the right decision in this new partnership! We look forward to releasing this new EP and much more great things to come."

M-Theory label president Marco Barbieri has been a fan of the group almost 20 years and their paths have crossed many times over the years whether it was being considered for Century Media, handling music publishing deals, booking AOB on locals shows, producing a single for Relapse, or handling digital distribution, Marco has always lent a helping hand to the guys and he’s proud to finally add them to the label roster.

Originally hailing from the Bay Area thrash scene, AVENGER OF BLOOD moved down to Las Vegas after recording a couple demos. Capturing a deal with JCM Records the group issued their debut ‘Complete Annihilation’ in 2005 which put AVENGER OF BLOOD on the map and conscience of thrash fans worldwide. Several opportunities presented themselves to perform at festivals like Minneapolis Mayhem, Millennium Music Conference, Monsters of Metal and the Northwest Deathfest. Two years later AOB appeared on the infamous ‘Speed Kills… Again’ compilation, which featured unknown names at the time like Warbringer, Toxic Holocaust, Enforcer and Merciless Death setting the stage for the thrash revival. The same label, Heavy Artillery, signed AVENGER OF BLOOD and released the classic album ‘Death Brigade’ in 2008, which even featured cover art from Joe Petagno (infamous for Motorhead, in addition to works by Krisiun and Sodom). Momentum was halted when singer/guitarist Eric Greaney and bassist Shawn Loureiro left the group, but Shannon and guitarist Marc Flores have persevered by bringing in new musicians to keep the dream alive recording various releases, such as a split 7” with Witchaven, the ‘Spawn of Evil’ EP (2012) and ‘On Slaying Ground’ full-length (2016). Now having a stable line-up for the past years, rounded out by singer Sal Lalli, guitarist Chris Garcia, and bassist Corey Sorrenti, the group even re-recorded the band’s debut last year calling it ‘Completely Re-Annihilated’ and performing at Blades of Steel Fest, alongside Flotsam & Jetsam, Vio-lence, Exciter, Jag Panzer, Massacre, Artillery and Riot V, as well as supporting Death Angel and Ruthless on shows in NV and CA. AVENGER OF BLOOD is ready to punish you relentlessly on ‘Revenge Is My Name’ with live performances in the works and already starting to lay down the full-length for 2026.

CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE RELEASE "EXEMPTING REALITY"

PRESS RELEASE:

CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE – EXEMPTING REALITY

LABEL: COMATOSE MUSIC

RELEASE DATE: JANUARY 17th 2025

There is movement beneath the soil, the earth shifting and resettling, sinking and splitting, as if the very foundations of the world are beginning to crumble. Down in the darkness, in the unseen kingdom of worms, an eye is burning brightly; sinews shaped by strange sorcery strain against their horrid confinement and bone fingers dig towards the light. Rotting teeth gnaw at roots and rubble that dare to impede the creature’s passage through this cold and suffocating birth canal. There are things in this world that simply will not die, no matter how deeply they are buried...

We often hear of ‘lost gems’ from the underground, forgotten albums that should have been hailed as great works, but somehow slipped down the cracks of public perception. In most cases these treasures prove to be so much fool’s gold and dust, wistful thinking and nostalgia…but sometimes, on rare occasions, something truly special claws its way up from the boneyard and into the night air. Something like Cerebral Hemorrhage’s Exempting Reality. Originally released back in 2001, Exempting Reality was the only album released by New York’s Cerebral Hemorrhage, but what an album it was! A piece of death metal mastery that blended brutality with imagination, haunting atmosphere with musical adventure, crushing heaviness with a breathtaking willingness to explore and push boundaries. Now, the label that understands death metal better than any other – Comatose Music – has broken open Exempting Reality’s tomb. Remastered by Colin Davis (Aborted, Defeated Sanity, Origin etc), with new cover art, Exempting Reality is an album reborn.

The passing years have done nothing to blunt the vicious edges of the songs that make up Exempting Reality, or to dull the creative spirit that infuses them. ‘Abusive Power’ is still shockingly good with its array of stunning riffs and wonderful drumming. ‘Remnants Of The Final Solution’ remains revelatory with its fluid melodic section and jazz inflections and the surging guitar patterns and imposing vocals of ‘Deranged Perception’ are as hypnotic and deadly as a cobra. If you missed this before then don’t make that mistake again – second chances don’t come along every day and nor do albums as special as Cerebral Hemorrhage’s Exempting Reality. Coming your way on Comatose Music on January 17th 2025.

Line-up:

Matt Szablewicz - Vocals

Matt Doreson - Guitar, Bass, Keyboards & Backing Vocals

Tommy - Drums
