COGAS RELEASE "UNCONSCIOUS SONS OF THE REPTILE GOD"

London (UK) based extreme metal stalwarts COGAS announced their debut album, entitled “Unconscious Sons of the Reptile God”. The album will be released on September 17th 2021.

Spewed from a place of utter anxiety, extreme metal harbingers COGAS impose a new strain of dark death-black metal annihilation entirely their own, stitching together the timeless brutality of old school death metal and the transformative sonic bedlam of the current visionary black metal crop, to create a majestic and emotive extreme metal behemoth of epic magnitude.

Weaving together layers of dense textures, ceremonial rhythms and looming atmospheres, COGAS excels at the art of organized chaos through sound. Across this new material the London-based band blends elements of extreme metal and macabre stories of Sardinian witchcraft (the Italian island is the homeland of two of the band members - frontman Piero Mura and guitarist Davide Ambu) with ambient explorations, epic sensibilities and grinding walls of sound that defy categorization.

After releasing a couple of very well received EPs, COGAS have come up with their debut full-length which sets new standards for the band. Everything is immaculately executed, right from the artwork to the production, ensuring that their much awaited release doesn't leave anything to be desired.

“Unconscious Sons of the Reptile God” is a journey through the flesh that turns into spirit.

A metaphor about how little earthly power can do compared to the fate that rule our universe.

Despite this, the album is a glorification of both as the tracklist is in fact divided into two narrative parts.

The first part of the concept sees a material being allowed to enter and enjoy such universe, unaware of the consequences of the actions. The second part revolves around the being’s realisation of their inferiority in front of the entity from which they have drawn their power, accepting the destiny aware of having been deceived, but nevertheless not regretting having walked this path.

“Unconscious Sons of the Reptile God” could be sum up as a story about a case of Stockholm Syndrome’s condition with the Devil and our Coga (Sardinian witch) as key players.

DESALMADO REVEAL DETAILS OF NEW ALBUM "MASS MENTAL DEVOLUTION"

After great repercussion of the last single 'Hollow', the brazilian death grind group Desalmado recently released the cover of their next album entitled 'Mass Mental Devolution', which has a confirmed release for October 8th with worldwide digital distribution by the European label Blood Blast Distribution. The physical versions in Brazil and Latin America will be produced by Xaninho Discos, Sana Maior Records and Shinigami Records.

'Mass Mental Devolution' will be released on cassette tape and CD with bonus tracks in Europe via Gruesome Records. The band is expected to announce in the coming weeks how the physical material will be released in North America and Asia.

Vocalist Caio Augusttus tells more details about the release: "We were looking for labels or recorders that wanted to physically release and distribute this album, so we managed to establish this partnership between Xaninho Discos and Sana Maior with Shinigami distribution in Brazil and Latin America, as well as to also have the European release with Gruesome Records. We also managed to get the record out on digital via Blood Blast, something we didn't expect, but it worked out really well in the end. This whole movement was very important for the band, yeah the recognition of our work and the trust placed in our sound".

The graphic art of the album was done by artist Jeca Paul, who had already worked with the band on the 'Save Us From Ourselves' album. "We've always been very careful with the graphic part of the works, because it's what packs the message we want to convey on each album. Jeca has a language that has a lot to do with Desalmado, he managed to perfectly capture the concept of Mass Mental Devolution The record has a heavy, dense atmosphere and we were all going through difficult times personally while we were writing the record. When Jeca sent the first cover version we already approved and we didn't ask for any changes. an incredible job for Desalmado!", explains bassist Bruno Teixeira.

Desalmado released two singles from 'Mass Mental Devolution' this year, showing a bit of what's to come on his new release. The songs "Your God, Your Dictator" and the aforementioned "Hollow" are available on all digital platforms.

Formed in 2004, Desalmado is today at the forefront of the national underground scene, being one of the most active and relevant bands today. Celebrating 17 years on the road in 2021, the band has accumulated great achievements in its history, with three tours in Europe and hundreds of shows in all regions of Brazil. 

Recently, Max Cavalera (Cavalera Conspiracy, Soulfly and ex-Sepultura) cited Desalmado as one of the highlights of the heavy music scene.

NERVOCHAOS TO RELEASE "DUG UP... DIABOLICAL REINCARNATIONS"

One of the biggest names in Brazilian metal, NERVOCHAOS, announces the new album, 'Dug Up… Diabolical Reincarnations', for the band's 25th anniversary celebration. The new album made of exhumed cadaverous material from their early discography, completely rewritten and re-recorded, a special compilation three songs from each of the first four albums, ”Pay Back Time” (1998), “Legion of Spirits Infernal” (2002), “Quarrel In Hell” (2006) and “Battalions Of Hate” ( 2010).

'Dug Up… Diabolical Reincarnations' will be available on the main streaming platforms on November 19, 2021 and will have a CD version through the French label Xenokorp, with distribution in Europe and the USA.

The Brazilian version will be through the labels Xaninho Discos, Tumba Records, Rock Brigade Records & Voice Music. In Argentina it will be released by Pacheco Records and in Peru by Xaria Music.

Pursuing the celebrations, NERVOCHAOS will embark on yet another world tour in 2022 with a European leg in April alongside cult unholy Death Metalers MERCYLESS.

This Insidious Horror is a hook-forward LP with tales of technocratic rulers, murderous cults, and otherworldly terrors. Horror comes in many forms; the Pigs revel in them all. FEED THE CORPSES TO THE PIGS (FTCTTP) pummels and brutalizes their listeners with their mix of old-school and new-school metal styles including grindcore, crossover, black, and death metal. Featuring guest musicians Rick Rozz (Death/Massacre) and Miasma Recording artist Daniel Torgal (Analepsy/Enblood) as well as mastering done by one of the most sought after engineers today, Will Putney (Fit for an Autopsy), This Insidious Horror captures the chaotic nature of the world today in song form and the outlook is bleak.

Shawn "Death Pig" Fink comments on the recording:

Guitarist/Vocalist Shawn Fink on working with Rick Rozz, “They say you should never meet you heroes, but man I am glad I did. He was so cool and humble through the process. Rick really cared about our band and gave us valuable advice. Sometimes with bands, it is a race to the bottom with an ego battle, but Rick just reinforced the idea that metal bands should work together and raise each other up.”

On working with Daniel Torgal, “Daniel was awesome. He understood the different metal styles that we were trying to cover and he captured everything we listed. He was professional and he really put his time into ensuring everything was exactly how we had been practicing it.”

On the new album, “When we formed in the middle of 2019, we individually had taken some time off from the metal industry. We wanted to create some music quickly so we went in and made an EP that was really rough around the edges. We hadn’t taken the time to become comfortable with each other, but we wanted something to show so we could get gigs. Over a year later, we’ve become much more in sync with each other and have perfected the type of metal we want to make.

Death Pig continues, "For me, this album is a mix-tape to all the different genres I love. When I listen to music at home, I like to hit that random button. I'll get a black metal track, then a punk track, then a thrash band, and so on. I think when you switch up the styles, it makes each of them pop more than just listening to an album of just one thing. I think all of our songs have our signature Pigs sound and sensibility, but I'll follow a good song wherever the riffs and lyrics may lead me and not worry about sticking to one metal style."
