KORYPHEUS, which in Greek means the conductor of the choir or one who excels in their art, is a progressive metal/djent band hailing from Kyiv, Ukraine. The band has already got two releases under its belt – the self-released EP ‘Blessed’ (2018) and the full-length ‘Over the Rainbow’ (2020) released via M&O Music (France) and featuring the popular track “Goliath”. The album cycle saw them perform with Slaughter To Prevail, as well as appear at festivals like MonteRay Summer Rock Fest, Power Of Ukraine and Metal Bleeding. The band has gained recognition for its powerful music and has been active in the metal scene with various projects. The band was nominated for the Best Ukrainian Metal Act Award in 2020.

Band statement:

The inception of of this album began in 2017. The subject matter tackles a variety of concepts from loss to society to the inner self. Way Of The Wolf was the first song written back in 2017 and has gone through many changes and facelifts as have all the songs featured on this EP, but that song spawned the motivation to create a band. The video of “Diamonds”, the new single from MISANTROPHIA, is available at this location. The track is now streaming on Spotify and on all digital platforms via Ad Noctem Records. The recording sessions took place at the VaulTKat Studio, under the guidance of Matteo Turla, former guitarist of the band. Davide Aroldi took care of mixing and mastering.

The video is by well-known videomaker Stefano Mastronicola.

The sound of MISANTROPHIA has no boundaries. While boasting roots in metalcore and deathcore, it is the result of a continuous musical research drawing influences from djent, classic heavy metal and electronics. A very emotional sound, often dark and negative, that the band aims to express with every single note.
