This first EP from the French-Canadian Black Metal band Verglas Sanglant is a cold breeze from the north. Bringing both the coldness from the extreme Canadian weather and a breeze of fresh air of new influences in the black metal scene, the band delivers almost 30 minutes of atmospheric, haunting, blasting, freezing melodic black metal music.

Hailing from Quebec, the province that gets more and more attention from black metal fans around the world for producing bands like Monarque, Délétère, Forteresse, Frozen Shadows, etc, this EP is much more complete and more atmospheric compared to the raw demo that was previously released. The haunting screams from a tortured soul are going to anguish you, with the production being more polished while keeping the harsh black metal sound that we all crave for.

Fans of bands like Emperor, Satyricon, Mayhem, Burzum and Darkthrone will find some influences here and there while discovering something new and different.

" NoSlip Records asked us if we’d like to participate in a split with New Zealand band Souls Of Hades . Once we listened to them, we immediately said ‘hell yes’! We decided to include the more punk side of things with fan favorite ‘ Shut Up And Skate ’ with the more metal sounding ‘ Your Fault ’ to give people a sense of our range. Carlo Regadas , who played on Carcass ’ ‘ Swansong ’ album, plays a guest guitar solo on the Your Fault track and it’s quite the piece of music! Our bass player Mike Jilge painted our side of the cover art to complete the package. We hope you dig it! Thanks for supporting the underground! "

Bio:

Since their inception in 2008, Gravehuffer has crafted their sound into an other-worldly amalgamation of Crust, Punk, Metal, Grindcore, and unapologetic down-tuned Sludge-laden Doom.

From the remnants of former projects Initial Detonation , H.R.B ., and Aether Bunny , Krom was formed. Krom evolved into what is now known as Gravehuffer . Without ever making a conscious effort to do so, the Joplin , Missouri band proudly shuns the confines of genre confinements and so-called rules for the sake of the music itself and their collective creative output. Featuring Travis McKenzie on vocals, Ritchie Randall on guitar, and a rhythm section comprised of Mike Jilge on bass, and Jay Willis on drums, Gravehuffer steers clear of trends and limits by being themselves and letting the music take them where it wants to go. With an assortment of original songs in their repertoire that showcase the vast array of influence the band pulls from and a fearlessness to never conform or compromise, Gravehuffer is in it for the sake of the songs and the art itself in a world where most are content to follow rather than lead.

Gravehuffer were signed on with Bluntface Records for a special vinyl release of their acclaimed Your Fault album, which features 2 bonus tracks and a guest solo by former Carcass lead guitarist Carlo Regadas . They were briefly signed with NoSlip Records for a 2 song EP release on vinyl.

They are now currently signed with Black Doomba Records to release the 12 song vinyl LP ' NecroEclosion ' on January 15th 2021!

SOULS OF HADES

"I met NoSlip Records owner Rob at through Jason Virus of Sugar Virus . His band was being pressed to vinyl via Robs horror punk label ' Devils Brew Productions ', and the band Jason, (Nigel Toxic) and I had together ( Slavething ) was also scheduled to have a Vinyl run made of our album ' Death Thing '."

"Sadly the label ran into some issues before ours could be pressed, so it was mastered but never pressed. Around the same time of that album, I had begun work on the Souls of Hades album Lay Your Bones, the first of which to feature me on vocals. I passed the album on to Rob and thought nothing further of it. Fast forward a couple of years and I had started on the follow up to that album, All The filthy Ones . Rob messaged me out of the blue saying Souls of Hades had grown on him quite a bit and that he wanted to have us on a split 7" with Gravehuffer , who i instantly fell in love with upon hearing."

"It just so happened the new album had a couple of tracks finished and so I submitted what I think is one of our best tracks from the new album; ' On Blackest Wings '. This track was a real shift for the band, moving more into the Gothic territory i love from Bands like Samhain and Type O Negative . Its probably one of the classiest tracks I've written and was an obvious choice for a vinyl release, the FIRST proper vinyl release for the band. I am so happy that both Rob and the Gravehuffer guys believed in us enough to make this happen."

Formed in April of 1998. Entered the studio for the first time in the summer 1999 to record what would become the first half of the debut album "The Essence of Destruction". Recording would continue for the album in the summer of 2000 and 2001. The first full-lenght was officially released internationally in November of 2011. The band has consistently been releasing material since then with the latest release being 2018's "Mortal Coil" demo. This demo is made up from a rehearsal session. The first two tracks were completely new releases and the last track was "Anguish" which is featured on the first album. That release along with all others can be found on the band's official bandcamp page. The band's newest, yet to be released EP, "Sifting Through the Remnants" features three brand new tracks and two previously released singles newly mixed and mastered. The EP artwork was done by the artist named Adi Dechristianize.
