PRESS RELEASE:
Hailing from the chaotic realm that is our nation’s capitol, GENOCIDE PACT has been making pulverizing, relentless death metal since their inception in 2013. Praised by No Clean Singing as “titanically heavy” and Cvlt Nation as “suffocating in the highest, complementary form of the word, Genocide Pact craft death metal that hearkens to the greats while pushing forward to something even greater.” After touring on a much buzzed about demo and 7” single, the band recorded their debut LP Forged Through Domination for A389 Recordings in 2015. The band has since toured North America extensively as well as select dates with Nails, Toxic Holocaust, Gatecreeper, Darkest Hour, Iron Reagan, Power Trip and Torche in addition to an appearance at the renowned Maryland Deathfest.
In 2018, GENOCIDE PACT unleased their raging sophomore full-length and Relapse debut entitled Order of Torment. Recorded by Kevin Bernsten (Full of Hell, Code Orange, Magrudergrind) in Baltimore, MD at Developing Nations and featuring cover art from the legendary Joe Petagno (Motorhead, Autopsy, Marduk, Pink Floyd), Order of Torment features eight tracks of pulverizing, relentless death metal that harkens to the greats while pushing the genre to chaotic new realms of possibility. With a thick, titanically heavy crunch that focuses on crushing groove as much as skull-splitting intensity, GENOCIDE PACT are THE death metal band to watch in 2018.
Fast forward to 2021, GENOCIDE PACT return with their eponymous new album. An overdose of gut-wrenching Death Metal, Genocide Pact is heavy, engrossing, and undoubtedly brutal.
"This album reflects on the feeling of watching the world crumble while dealing with personal tragedy," says guitarist/vocalist Tim Mullaney. True to his word - every track on Genocide Pact is a sonic assault brimming with palpable malaise. From the guttural screams in the album's opener "Led to Extinction", to the driving double bass that carries "Perverse Dominion", and a head rattling low end on "Deprive Degrade" - Genocide Pact is wholly negative Death Metal.
The fury behind Genocide Pact captures the band's collective frustrations and personal journeys through these turbulent times.
"You turn on the news and see mass shootings, a global pandemic, endless war, and corporations and politicians trying to sell you bullshit. You pick up your phone and another friend or family member has died. On top of that, you’re broke as fuck and work endlessly for a boss that doesn’t even know your name. You find yourself paranoid, pissed off, and embracing nihilism," Tim Mullaney says.
GENOCIDE PACT have learned to embrace the negativity, churning out one of 2021's ugliest and unforgiving records.
