It’s been a long wait, seven years all told, but at last Colombia’s Cercenatory have returned from the darkness with their second album of full force, brutal death metal - GoreSphere. In a soul-dead world devoid of rational thought, with urges unchecked by compassion, nothing remains but endless, frenzied consumption; an eternal harvest of all flesh. Beneath a sky bleached and burnt into a perpetual storm of unrest, the dwindling remnants of a once proud species exist, minute by minute, in a mindless struggle – eat or be eaten, kill or be killed, rend and brutalise or fall beneath the broken teeth and filth impregnated, talon like nails of the other. No family, no tribe, no bonds or unity, only violence, desecration and destruction. Alone In the cold, grey rain; licking fat and chewing sinew, sucking on slick, wet, unravelling intestines, gnawing on fragments of shattered bone – lost in a never-ending slaughterhouse dream.

The essence of emptiness, of soulless desecration, the sonic embodiment of drowning in violence…to stand before the new album from Indonesia’s Perveration is to become hopeless and helpless in the presence of wanton devastation. Putrefaction Of Infinite Apogee strips away every element of humanity and civilisation, rendering down the listener to their essentials of blood, bone, fat and hunger. Slithering riffs squirm through a liquid filth of inhuman vocals while bludgeoning beats fall like skin-stinging hail. An insidious wickedness writhes within a soup of bile and fear induced excreta. As ‘Devouring Voraciously’ expresses the unfathomable savagery of this tableau of horrors in a grim collision of blood boiling velocity and incremental landslides of disgust, ‘Abominable Dismembered’ twists itself into unnatural, unimaginable bone breaking, spine twisting forms of agony. The absolute focus and intensity which Perveration have applied to the creation of their demented dreamscapes is both shocking and utterly admirable. A stunning progression from their Perversion In Manifest Disease debut of 2021, Putrefaction Of Infinite Apogee is a horrific work of brutal death metal art. Mixed and mastered by Indra Cahya (Anthropophagus Depravity, Depraved Murder etc) the rich, overwhelming sound displays a mastery and absolute understanding of the genre, infusing each track with terrifyingly visceral and vibrant qualities. GENE SIMMONS BAND AND FLOTSAM & JETSAM CONFIRMED FOR SUMMER BREEZE BRASIL 2024

GENE SIMMONS BAND:

Gene Simmons' (KISS) new solo band will be the surprise attraction of the second edition of Summer Breeze Open Air Brasil, which will be held between April 26th and 28th at Memorial da América Latina (SP).

The GSB (Gene Simmons Band) features Simmons (bass and vocals), guitarists and vocalists Brent Woods (Wildside, Sebastian Bach and Vince Neil) and Zach Throne (Corey Taylor) and drummer Brian Tichy (Lynch Mob, The Dead Daisies , Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Foreigner, Pride & Glory, Slash's Snakepit and others).

FLOTSAM & JETSAM:

With a long-lasting and influential career in the metal scene, the thrash/heavy metal band Flotsam and Jetsam, formed in 1981 in Phoenix/Arizona (USA), will make their debut in Brazilian territory at the second edition of Summer Breeze Open Air Brasil.

The original lineup that recorded the cult debut, "Doomsday for the Deceiver" (1986), included Eric "A.K." Knutson (vocals), Michael Gilbert and Edward Carlson (guitars), Jason Newsted (bass) and Kelly David-Smith (drums). Shortly before the official release of the album, Newsted left the band to join Metallica, where he took over from the late Cliff Burton and became world famous.

Although Flotsam and Jetsam did not achieve the same level of commercial success as some of their contemporaries, they continued to release albums regularly and perform live. Some of the highlights of his discography are the albums "No Place for Disgrace" (1988) and "Cuatro" (1992). However, the group has been praised more recently for albums such as "Ugly Noise" (2012), "Flotsam and Jetsam" (2016), "The End of Chaos" (2019) and "Blood in the Water" (2021).

In addition to Eric "A.K." Knutson and Michael Gilbert, the current lineup features Steve Conley (guitar), Bill Bodily (bass) and experienced drummer Ken Mary (Accept, House of Lords, Fifth Angel, Bonfire, Alice Cooper, Chastain, TKO and Impellitteri).

Instrumentality was created as a concept album pertaining to the popular anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, as the subject fit perfectly within the confines of the music. The goal was to create an album that functioned as an immersive, beginning-to-end listening experience. Mission accomplished!

Guitarist/songwriter Tony Barhoum began working on the material that would become Instrumentality during the summer of 2020 to follow up the self-titled EP that was released in June of that year. As musicians, Chaos Sanctuary comprises all different types of influences across several different genres. On Instrumentality, the band seamlessly melds tech-death, djent, thrash metal, jazz-fusion, and guitar-driven instrumentals into one succinct album, while making it palatable to the average listener.

BIO:

Tony Barhoum is Chaos Sanctuary's guitar player and songwriter. Tony has been involved in the metal scene for over 13 years and is the lead guitarist for the bands Condition Critical, Strychnia, and Legionary.

Dave Palenske is the vocalist and lyricist. He is also a vocalist/guitarist for the band Cryptic Hymn and the vocalist for the melodic black metal band Volcandra.

Frank D'Erasmo is the drummer. He has been involved in multiple projects over the 20+ years he has played metal. Since 2010, he has been the main songwriter for the band Legionary and continues to produce music every year.
