DIMINISHING RELEASE VIDEO FOR "THE RATS I´VE FED"

PRESS RELEASE:

DIMINISHING: Cvlt Nation Premieres “The Rats I’ve Fed” Video; The Unnamable Debut From Dark Ambient Project Formed By Yatsu And Gridfailure Members Out Now On Anti-Corporate Music

Watch DIMINISHING’s “The Rats I’ve Fed” video HERE.

Cvlt Nation is hosting an exclusive video premiere for “The Rats I’ve Fed,” from harsh drone/post-industrial act DIMINISHING, the song found on the band’s demoralizing debut album, The Unnamable, released last year through Anti-Corporate Music.

Formed in 2019 by New York-based David Brenner (Gridfailure) and Texas-based Lane Oliver (Yatsu), DIMINISHING is a tense, emotionally devastating project that paints in shades of industrial, dark ambient, drone metal, noise, and more. On The Unnamable, semi-improvisational, destructive guitar work collides with haunting atmospherics, mechanical rhythms, and walls of cacophony to create a soul-crushing sound that resides somewhere between Godflesh, Nurse With Wound, Merzbow, Lustmord, Gnaw Their Tongues, Khanate, and Nine Inch Nails’ The Downward Spiral, while thematically exploring existential crises, anxiety in the face of the unknown, and personal failings.

Structured with a wide range of vocals, guitars, bass, keys/synth, percussion, and pedal effects, the dense tracks on The Unnamable were performed, recorded, and mixed by David Brenner and Lane Oliver, largely throughout the COVID-19 lockdowns. Mastering for the album was handled by Dan Emery at Black Matter Mastering (Kool Keith, Steve Von Till, Krieg, Thetan), and the photography, design, and visuals were created by Brenner.

As with the album’s two prior videos, the visual accompaniment for “The Rats I’ve Fed” was filmed by DIMINISHING, directed and edited by David Brenner.

Oliver writes, “‘The Rats I’ve Fed’ deals with the stress and burnout that comes with taking on more than you can handle. It’s about constantly giving yourself to things and people that give nothing in return. It’s about having your bandwidth depleted and becoming a mental wreck.”

Cvlt Nation writes, “The music of DIMINISHING is unsettling in a sonically creepy sort of way... Imagine if your whole reality was stuck on nightmare mode — this is what it’s like allowing this band into your existence.”

DIMINISHING’s “The Rats I’ve Fed” video is now playing at Cvlt Nation RIGHT HERE.

The Unnamable is available on all digital platforms as well as Gold cassette tape via the Anti-Corporate Music webshop HERE and DIMINISHING’s Bandcamp where a new shirt is also available HERE. View the videos for “An Emptiness” HERE and “The Culmination of Years of Self Abuse” HERE.

DIMINISHING is currently working on new recordings and audiovisual output to be released later this year.

BLESSED BLACK RELEASE "SEASONS VOL. 2"

PRESS RELEASE:

Blessed Black

Seasons Vol. 2

26 April 2024

The heavy doom quartet BLESSED BLACK is proud to announce the release of their newest EP, Seasons Vol. 2, set to debut on April 26th, 2024. This collection of songs dives deeper into the band's exploration of existential themes, presenting a narrative arc that spans personal struggle, enlightenment, and societal upheaval. With Seasons Vol. 2, BLESSED BLACK continues to forge a path through the heavy music landscape, offering a blend of crushing riffs, profound lyrics, and a raw emotional core.

Seasons Vol. 2 features three compelling tracks that encapsulate the band's evolution and thematic depth:

"Asunder" reflects the internal battle with darkness and the search for a guiding light amidst despair. Its haunting lyrics and powerful composition set the stage for a journey of self-discovery and redemption.

"Serpentine Sisters" is an anthem of empowerment and awakening. It calls for the rejection of diminishment and the embrace of one's true strength and potential. With its rallying cry for autonomy and self-realization, it serves as the heart of the EP's narrative.

"Solve Et Coagula" confronts the constructs of power and control, advocating for a dismantling of oppressive systems to rebuild a more equitable society. The track's title, a reference to the alchemical process of separation and coming together, symbolizes the destruction of old paradigms and the creation of new beginnings.

BLESSED BLACK, comprised of Joshua Murphy (vocals and guitar), Jake Stone (guitar), Brad Bellamy (bass and background vocals), and Ray Bates (drums), continues to push the boundaries of their genre. Each member brings a unique blend of influences and skills to the table, creating a sound that is at once classic and innovative.

Critics have praised BLESSED BLACK for their ability to blend intense musicality with thought-provoking lyrics, earning them a respected place in the doom metal community. Seasons Vol. 2 is poised to further this legacy, offering a powerful commentary on personal and societal transformation.

HOLYCIDE RELEASE "TOWARDS IDIOCRACY"

PRESS RELEASE:

Following in the body-strewn footsteps of last year’s Bazookiller EP, Spain’s Holycide are back with their third full length album – Towards Idiocracy! While Bazookiller was undoubtedly a hard hitting release in its own right, Towards Idiocracy sees Holycide reaching new war torn peaks of intensity with this full force thrash metal nuclear attack. If you thought you knew what Holycide were capable of then think again – the bar has just been raised to unprecedented heights. It’s time to march on Towards Idiocracy…

Since their blistering Toxic Mutation EP back in 2015, Holycide have held the banner high for uncompromising, undiluted thrash metal – in the words of the mighty Exodus, “100% all out nothing less, aggressive relentless and mean”. Like no other band in the modern age, Holycide’s dedication to thrash is absolute and with their third full length album, Towards Idiocracy, they have created a genuine thrash masterpiece. From the opening attack of ‘A.I. Supremacy’ to the last defiant chord of final track ‘Flamethrower ‘Em All’, via a flawless cover of the Atrophy classic ‘Chemical Dependency’, Towards Idiocracy is a nirvana of monstrous riffs, relentless drums and a snarling vocal presence that will have the unbelievers running for the hills. A caustic attack on humanity’s pathetic addiction to a shallow, selfish existence, Towards Idiocracy is every bit as vehement in its unforgiving lyrical exhortations as in its rapid fire, twin guitar assault. Holycide are setting the standards for thrash in 2024!

Still bonded by blood with Xtreem Music, Holycide will unleash the fistful of metal that is Towards Idiocracy on June 6th – the international day of Slayer. What more fitting release date could there be for an album which is Holycide’s very own Reign In Blood? Their most intense, unyielding, inexorable album to date! Mixed and mastered for maximum impact by Javier Fernández Milla (Angelus Apatrida, Avulsed etc) and Davide Billia (Posthuman Abomination, Beheaded etc) and housed in the vividly violent artwork of Daemorph Art (The Black Dahlia Murder, Sorrow, Bodyfarm, etc) Towards Idiocracy is the complete thrash package.

Prepare for detonation!
