INGESTED RELEASE "THE TIDE OF DEATH AND FRACTURED DREAMS"

PRESS RELEASE:

The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams, the latest full-length from UK death metal trio INGESTED, is out today on Metal Blade Records!

Since their fifth album, 2020’s Where Only God May Tread, INGESTED has been on a creative tear that has produced almost a full record every year, each displaying the kind of musical growth that only comes from constantly practicing, playing, and writing. The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams is not only as innovative and brutal as their last disc -- the bleak, firestorm Ashes Lie Still -- it showcases a band willing to expand its creativity without sacrificing the ferocity that made it one of the most impressively destructive, technical death metal bands on the scene. The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams is proof that once INGESTED sniffs out a trail of musical blood, they ravenously follow it until they’ve uncovered a festering feast.

Whether pummeling listeners with double-bass rolls, blast-beats, and grinding rhythm; breaking it all down with jagged, staggered riffs, and piercing harmonics; or flooding the mix with rapid-fire bursts of minor key melodies, INGESTED has injected all of their experience, skill, and artistry into ten trenchant new tracks.

In celebration of the release, today the band unleashes a video for “Endless Machine.”

Comments vocalist Jason Evans, “’ ‘Endless Machine’ is about the day to day grind you get stuck in, when you haven’t found the courage to get up and take charge of your own situation. Take a deep breath, embrace the risk, and don’t get stuck in an endless machine with no way out. So, sink your teeth into the live mayhem of this new video and expect the same carnage on our upcoming tour with Fallujah, Vulvodynia and Melancolia.”

The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams was produced by the band with the guidance of recording engineer Nico Beninato. The record includes a guest appearance by Chimaira’s Mark Hunter who provides vocals for the track “In Nothingness” and Sylosis singer Josh Middleton who contributes to “Expect To Fail,” as well as the striking cover art of David Seidman.

HÄSSLIG RELEASE "APEX PREDATOR"

PRESS RELEASE:

Sentient Ruin are re proud to announce the May 2024 release of Hässlig's wretched debut full-length disfigurement. A lurid audial assault conceived by enigmatic Spanish recluse D.B. (also mastermind of Negativa and Délirant), "Apex Predator" vomits forth thirty six minutes of atavistic, demented and necrotic raw black metal/punk filth conjured through the eyes of all criminals, serial killers, and of the absolute scum of this earth. A sickening and cruelty-worshipping audial delirium inspired by iconic punk-infused black metal bands like Bone Awl and Ildjarn, with subtle touches of Oi! punk and post-punk thrown in the mix to metastasize a disorienting and trance-like defilement of triumphant sonic squalor.

The nefarious debut offering has been introduced by the black metal specialized YouTube channel Transmissions From the Dark, who’ve premiered the second track from the album, “Slaves”, which can be witnessed HERE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ-DbXTGbqY

"Apex Predator" is slated for worldwide release on LP, cassette and digital formats via Sentient Ruin on May 3 2024, and all formats can be now pre-ordered via all Sentient Ruin channels.

Hässlig is the most recent manifestation of sonic abandon conceived by enigmatic recluse D.B., a visual artist and multi-instrumentalist from Spain who is also behind the one-man studio-only projects Negativa and Délirant, and who is known for creating everything for his bands, from the artwork and visuals to everything about the sound, including the writing/recording, the mixing and even the mastering. D.B. is a skilled and explorative black metal musician, who has been this far far solely involved in creating black metal, manifesting it under various forms and subgenera, from the DSBM leanings of Negativa, to the dense, dissonant and surrealistic approach of Délirant, all the way to the primitive, punk inclinations of his most recent raw black metal creation, Hässlig (which translates to “ugly” in German), an entity which D.B. created around 2020 with in mind influences like Ildjarn and Bone Awl, and thus with the inevitable elements coming from Oi! Punk, hardcore and post-punk inevitably being a big part of the band’s sound. Hässlig first appeared in 2021 with the “Guillotine“ EP, which was released that year on cassette tape via Mystískaos, introducing the band with a highly primitive and lo-fi sound exalting the band’s intent to purvey total filth and abject primitivism. The “Deathlust” EP followed two years later in 2023, released on cassette and 12” vinyl via Into Endless Chaos Records, again, displaying a decaying and primitive sound reminiscent of its predecessor. But a greater sense of ambition and a broader intent to shock and inflict pain started stirring within the project thereafter as a debut full-length album began taking shape. During the genesis of this first long player, a denser and more smothering sound compared to the previous releases was chosen, in order to instigate and dramatize further the project’s innate lust for chaos and violence. A more layered and elaborate production which allowed D.B. to provide the project with a broader expressive palette more akin to those used with Negativa and Délirant to exalt Hässlig’s obscene and hideous aura, and through which to shock, repulse, disgust and initimidate the listener further, by immersing them into a suffocating and overwhelming delirium of violence.  Aptly titled “Apex Predator”, this triumphant sonic ode to all sociopaths and serial killers would metastasize as a surprising thirty six-minute, twelve-track beast of corrosive and ultra-violent raw black metal toiling into unseen degenerations of squalor and filth. An expansive and immersive auditory ordeal into crime, violence, and degenerate sociopathic impulses soundtracked through the primal force of pestilent and antihuman punk-infused raw black metal.

From the start of the sampled introduction to the sadistic battering that follows, this record is a masterclass in well-produced Death Metal that reeks of the 90s brutality while keeping things totally organic. The first minute of this album will churn you into a slime-like ichor with its pulverizing intensity and crushingly tight instrumental hooks. These are topped with gargantuan vocals that will regurgitate any bone matter from your corpse. With a real void in the underground for bands such as this, it seems many are afraid to even try and give such an unforgiving take on extremity, or MORTAL WOUND intimidate the competition. With atmospherics but nothing short of total carnage at any given moment, you will constantly be in grotesque ecstasy at this abhorrent masterpiece.

This is one of those releases where any lover of Death Metal will definitely be satisfied. Unsavory soundscapes delivered with a totally incredible production showcases some of the best songwriting chops you will hear combined with an unfathomable lust for desecration of all things, living or dead. Monstrous grooves contort with a technical proficiency that is not a pretentious show of skill as much as sonic laceration fired forth with unmistakable excellence. Not only does this harken back to some of the genre's most punishing acts, Mortal Wound show they have more than enough personality and songwriting to stand on their own feet as one of the strongest death metal bands of the current day. Hammering furiously until the end, do you think you can withstand this record? Prove it, blast it at full volume and give yourself to this morbid offering…

BLACK ALTAR RELEASE "ANCIENT WARLUST" LIVE VIDEO

PRESS RELEASE:

Black Altar, the Polish black metal entity, recently unleashed a live video of their powerful track "Ancient Warlust," recorded during their performance at the Braincrusher in Hell Festival on March 23, 2024, in Germany. The footage, captured by Irydium Stream, encapsulates the raw energy and fervor that Black Altar brings to the stage, reaffirming their status as one of the prominent acts in the black metal scene.

However, behind the scenes, the band has been facing a series of challenges, as revealed by Dariusz Sieradzki, the driving force behind Black Altar. In a recent statement, Sieradzki addressed the tumultuous circumstances leading up to their upcoming tour in South America. The tour was initially slated to include Ofermod, but due to the unfortunate illness of Ofermod's leader, Belfagor, the participation of the band had to be canceled, leaving Black Altar to proceed solo.

Adding to their woes, Sieradzki shared the ordeal of losing their stage equipment during their return from the Braincrusher Festival. Lufthansa misplaced their baggage, containing essential custom-made props integral to their performances. The loss was not merely financial, as the items held sentimental value for Sieradzki, particularly the unique candleholders crafted from collected bones over the years.

Compounding their misfortunes, Sieradzki encountered a bizarre setback when authorities mistook a fake gypsum skull he purchased for a real one, leading to a tense encounter at the airport. Although eventually resolved, the incident underscored the challenges the band faces even beyond the realm of logistics.

Furthermore, uncertainties loom over their upcoming shows in Chile, as the local promoter, WOC Booking Agency, has yet to secure flight tickets for the band, despite prolonged silence and lack of communication. Despite these obstacles, Sieradzki remains resolute, emphasizing their determination to deliver an unforgettable performance for their fans.

In a gesture of solidarity and tribute to Ofermod, Black Altar plans to incorporate covers of Ofermod's tracks into their sets, honoring their erstwhile tour mates and ensuring that audiences receive a special experience.

Amidst the turmoil, Black Altar stands undeterred, ready to channel their adversity into artistic expression and sonic intensity on stage. Their resilience and unwavering commitment to their craft serve as a testament to the indomitable spirit of black metal, forging ahead despite the shadows that threaten to engulf them.

As the live video of "Ancient Warlust" reverberates across screens, it serves as a testament to Black Altar's unyielding dedication and their unrelenting pursuit of musical transcendence, even in the face of adversity. Their journey is one of perseverance, passion, and the unshakable belief in the power of black metal to transcend the confines of the mortal realm.

HOWL RELEASE "DROUGHT"

PRESS RELEASE:

Freshly brought to life, the band HOWL has completed their first album, Drought, which drains from dark sound waves and toxic monotony to bow deeply to the black metal of the first wave - an era when primitivity, filth, chaos and the trampling on existing genres were honoured. A time when bands made music with soul and, above all, for themselves.

The characteristics of the album can be described as dark music grown out of mouldy rehearsal rooms, with mesmerizing reefs, stifling paces, vocals drowning in echoes, rattling low frequencies and ominously monolithic drum batches shaking the ashes to the sound of the listener and fragmenting the soul.

Howl's first long play will be released by the Estonian label Warhorn Records. The album consists of seven tracks to bite away 40 minutes of the listener's life. The band itself consists and has contributions of various well-known skeletons who are active in the Estonian extreme music.

„Drought” has been released on the 04.04.2024.
