DECONSEKRATED is an occult death metal band hailing from the cold, rain-soaked south of Chile. Founded in 2020 by guitarist Agorh Skullptor, the project initially began as the vision of three like-minded "black souls" before evolving into a full five-piece lineup. The band's music explores themes of death, the desecration of Christian dogma, and spiritual transmutation, translating these concepts into a dark and uncompromising sonic identity.

In 2024, DECONSEKRATED released the EP "Ascension in the Altar of Condemned", issued on CD by Iron Blood and Death (Mexico), on vinyl by Futhark Records (Canada), reissued on CD by Alkolik Holocaust Records (Argentina), and released on cassette by Ancient Sounds of Madness Productions (Poland) and Infernal South Productions (Chile).

The band has shared the stage with renowned acts such as Master, Malevolent Creation, and Morta Skuld, while also performing in Argentina and at the now legendary Ossum Total Death Festival in Mexico City. Drawing inspiration from the early masters of death metal, DECONSEKRATED continue to follow a path of darkness, death, and the desecration of humanity.

Formed in 2014 by veteran musicians The Master Butcher (Costa Rica), Morbid and Purulent (El Salvador), MORBID STENCH was created to explore the darkest and most putrid side of doom metal, enriched by a strong death metal influence. With all members active in the extreme metal scene since the early ’90s, the band combines crushing heaviness, oppressive atmospheres and rotten melodies, drawing inspiration from the forgotten swamps of Central America.

Their debut EP "The Stench of Doom" was released in 2016 on cassette through Morbid Skull Recs (El Salvador) and Till You Fukkin Bleed (Poland), quickly selling out and followed by a short tour in El Salvador and Guatemala with CONCEIVED BY HATE. In 2017, the band released the split 7” EP "The Bifid Tongue of Doom & Death" with Costa Rican death metal act NECROGOD.

The debut full-length "Doom & Putrefaction" arrived in 2019 through Putrid Cult, Morbid Skull Recs and other international labels, receiving strong feedback from the underground scene. This was followed by the split 7” EP "Ghospels of Necromancy" with Dutch death metal band ANARCHOS in 2020, and the second album "The Rotting Ways of Doom" in 2022, further establishing the band’s reputation among doom/death enthusiasts.

Despite the members now living in three different countries, the creative chemistry within MORBID STENCH remains intact. The songwriting process begins with Morbid composing and recording guitar and bass parts at his "Víspera del Demonio" studio in San Salvador, creating raw demo versions that are shared with the band for feedback and development. Purulent then works on the drum arrangements, while The Master Butcher completes the songs with his lyrics and vocal performances.

In 2026, MORBID STENCH will release their third full-length album, "Doom Metástasis", a conceptual work that continues the band’s exploration of decay, darkness and the oppressive atmosphere of their signature doom/death metal.

Portland, Maine death metal outfit WORM ALTAR return with "Virescent Fire", the second single from their forthcoming debut full-length "Pillars of Eternal Dusk", now receiving its premiere through the mighty Mystification Zine.

Where the band’s music draws its power from a grim intersection of death metal and subterranean atmosphere, this new track sinks further into the murk, allowing its riffs to unfold with unsettling weight before giving way to harsher surges. "Virescent Fire" forms part of an album recorded mostly live, preserving the physical presence and rough edges at the heart of WORM ALTAR’s sound.

"Pillars of Eternal Dusk" is set for October 16, 2026 via Dawnbreed Records and Gurgling Gore, with cassette editions also arriving through Contemn Light.

There is something genuinely repulsive about the sound of WORM ALTAR. Crude, abrasive and seemingly dragged out of some damp, lightless corner of the underground, "Pillars of Eternal Dusk" refuses to polish away the rough edges that give its death metal such an unsettling presence. Yet beneath the layer of grime, the album reveals itself to be far more carefully constructed than its initial assault might suggest.

Great riffs emerge from the murk, memorable enough to stick in the head long after the noise has subsided. Subtle melodic details and understated atmospheric touches lurk beneath the surface, adding depth without ever compromising the album's oppressive character. The rawness is therefore not an end in itself: it is the most appropriate vehicle for music that aims to feel uneasy, crawling and fundamentally diseased.

Drawing inspiration from Gorement, Phrenelith, Disembowelment, Coffins, Mortiferum, Grave Upheaval and Black Sabbath, WORM ALTAR operate in that particularly fertile territory where death metal becomes less a display of brute force than an exercise in atmosphere, physicality and dread.

Founded in late 2021 as the solo project of Scott M. (guitars, vocals), WORM ALTAR initially released the "Demo 2022" tape through Acid Redux Productions and the "Astral Scourge" EP in 2023 via Gurgling Gore and Total Death Over Mexico. After expanding into a full band, the lineup was completed by John S. on drums, Jon M. on bass and Rob C. on guitar. Jon M. is also a member of sludge/doom legends Come To Grief, while Rob C. handles guitar and vocals in progressive death metal outfit Shabti.

"Pillars of Eternal Dusk" was recorded largely live in just ten hours by Todd Hutchisen at Acadia Recording Company in the band's hometown of Portland. Mixing was handled by Ethan Camp, whose credits include the debut albums of Mortiferum and Mephitic Corpse, while mastering was completed by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studio, known for work with Ancient Death, Blood Incantation, Cerebral Rot, Imprecation, Infester and Spectral Voice.

Following the release, WORM ALTAR will perform throughout New England and Canada, bringing the filth of "Pillars of Eternal Dusk" to the stage.

Pacific Northwest Death Metal legion Paralicyst have released their debut EP, Destruction of Sanity! Italian black metallers Amthrya have released “Shūdan Bōrei”, their brand new single, accompanied by an official lyric video.

“Shūdan Bōrei” (集団亡霊) takes its story to the shores of Izu, where history and legend collide. In the aftermath of a Second World War bombing, 250 people are said to have been swallowed by the sea. Ten years later, their unresolved rage transforms the victims into executioners.

Driven by an unrelenting grudge, the ghosts of Izu drag the living into the depths, trapping them in an endless cycle of death.

Italian black metal band AMTHRYA return with their new album "Onnen", set for release on October 11th, 2026 via Ad Noctem Records. The album will be available on digipack CD and across digital platforms.

Fronted by Kasumi Onryō, AMTHRYA are known for dissonant atmospheres and imagery rooted in Japanese folklore and mythology. "Onnen" opens a new chapter for the band and arrives alongside the introduction of a revamped line-up.

The album takes its title from the Japanese concept of Onnen (怨念), understood as deep-seated rancour or persistent hatred. AMTHRYA use that idea as the foundation for a record centred on hatred as a physical, metaphysical and universal force.

Structured as a five-act opera, "Onnen" follows that force as it spreads through reality, fuels wars, poisons spaces and eventually drives the world towards ruin.

New Jersey death metal architects OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS will unleash their new EP, Nexus, on October 30th via Bleeding Art Collective.

OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS has been pushing the boundaries of the extreme music genre since their inception, as captured on their debut album Unrecognizable (2022) and single release “Helminth.” Layered dynamics, pit inducing hooks, and crushing breakdowns all find a place in the band's repertoire. Traversing influences that range from European melodic death metal, through to djentcore and New York death metal, OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS can pull together these broad influences to create a sound that stands apart.

The band comments, “‘Nexus’ is defined as a connection or series of connections linking two or more things or a central focal point. The definition resonated with us and what we're trying to accomplish. This EP is a good representation of each band member's style artistically, testing the waters to see what we’re capable of. The plan was to have every member write a song in their style and we mesh it into what we already had going. When we could see the difference from where we started with high tides to what we're doing now, we knew we had something special. We were anxious and had doubts but once the finished product came out, we were surprised with the outcome. 

“There was a lot of back and forth but it was worth it in the end for what we were able to create. Sometimes we are aligned with our emotions and other times we are not. I think that’s why our music takes on a couple styles and forms. We all come with different perspectives of heavy music so it makes it a bit interesting. While some of the tracks may be callbacks to Unrecognizable thematically, instrumentally we experimented with different styles for this EP.”

In advance of the EP’s release, today the band drops a video for “Ash Hoarder,” noting “This song explores the duality of fire – to bring warmth or cause irreparable damage. This song highlighted Josh’s style of playing, he focused on the riffs, and if the crowd could dance to it . This song is on brand for signature style.”

Emerging Montreal metal trio OMBRA has officially released their debut EP "Night Terror," out now as of September 14th, 2026. U.S. Black Metal band Überchriist are set to release their second full-length album, Dæmonic Apotheosis, on September 25 via Deanwell Global Music.

"Anti-Phoenix Descent," the album's first single, is available on streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

First coming together in embryonic form in 2010 by two local musicians whose human names are long forgotten, Überchriist formed with the purpose of transcending the boundaries between human, demon and god. Now a quartet, the band has spent the years since sharpening that idea into Dæmonic Apotheosis. What phantasmagorical wonders and horrors could await in this unconscious realm of the unknown? For only facing the deepest darkness can bring true enlightenment, and that is the ultimate goal of this musical undertaking.

Transformation is the thread running through Dæmonic Apotheosis. Ten tracks, 38:23, and most of them pull downward. Apotheosis is elevation to the divine, and on this record the road there runs straight down.

"Anti-Phoenix Descent" opens the album and was the first single. It leans on maritime musical themes, a journey down into the abyss in the company of the titular water elemental, and it works as a battle cry for the madness that follows. "Serpent's Shroud," the forthcoming second single (9/18/26) turns inward. Tears, terror, and the last threads of the mortal coil fall away, and the serpent offers the shroud of transformation. Being wrapped in it is not burial. It's rebirth. Relentless blast beats carry the self down layer by layer into the voids beneath the darkest lands. The other eight songs go through the abyss, demonic transformation, hell, tombs, voids, and rites carried out somewhere well below ground level.

Musically this is classic black metal at the root. Blast beats, tremolo picking, all the cold. But the band lets melody in when a song asks for it, and there's a real streak of old-school heavy metal in the riffing.

"'Crystal Skies' is probably my favorite track on the album, and has been since I first heard it re-recorded and brought to this age. It's an interesting piece in the sense that the lyrics actually have somewhat of a positive undertone."

Formed in Finland in 2019 by Jussi Hänninen, best known as the primary songwriter of Fall of the Leafe between 1996 and 2007, AUTUMNFALL emerged as a continuation of the musical sensibility that characterized the earlier years of that influential band. Joined by vocalist Tero Ruohonen, Hänninen has developed the project into a vehicle for revisiting old ideas while giving them renewed shape and purpose.

Following "Ghosts of Light" (2021), "Bleak" (2022) and "The Archaic Shadows" (2024), "The Archaic Sins" once again draws heavily from the past. With just one completely new composition, the album is primarily built around songs written between 1998 and 2001, now brought into the present through fresh arrangements and performances.

The result is fluid, finely arranged melodic black metal that never needs grand gestures to make its impact. AUTUMNFALL weave melodies together continuously, allowing guitars and rhythms to move with a natural, unforced sense of progression. The music can evoke wonder one moment and bitterness the next, shifting between emotional shades without ever disrupting its graceful flow.

Carefully considered rhythmic patterns provide a solid foundation for compositions that remain loose and organic, while the constant interplay of melodies gives the album its distinctive character. There is an unmistakable sense of musicians who have spent decades understanding how songs work, knowing when to add detail and, just as importantly, when to let an idea breathe.

Supernatural Cat Records, the label operated by members of Ufomammut and the Malleus Rock Art Collective, welcomes Italian quartet BOSCO SACRO for the release of their second album, Inhabit, today unveiling the album’s details including a mesmerizing video for the title track.

BOSCO SACRO was formed in 2020 by Paolo Monti (The Star Pillow, DAIMON), Giulia Parin Zecchin (Julinko), Luca Scotti, and Francesco Vara (both formerly of Tristan da Cunha, with Vara also active in Altaj). Inspired by the sublime and restorative power of nature and its landscapes and driven by a shared belief in music as a healing and liberating force, they create immersive soundscapes where dreamlike atmospheres, slow-moving rhythms, and spiritual depth converge.

Since their inception, BOSCO SACRO have performed throughout Italy and Europe, appearing at festivals such as Brutal Assault, A Colossal Weekend, Frantic Fest, Curtarock, and Bear Stone. Entirely composed live in their rehearsal room and recorded by the band over a seven-day session with producer Lorenzo Stecconi, the album captures a raw, collective energy. Across eight interconnected tracks, the band crafts a modern ritual of ego dissolution and rebirth, weaving a diverse sonic tapestry where the crushing weight of doom and slowcore meets the weightless beauty of dreamgaze, ambient, and trip-hop.

Inhabit was recorded by BOSCO SACRO with producer Lorenzo Stecconi (Amenra, Zu, Ufomammut, Lento) at Daniele Onori’s AMM, Monteggiori Studio, immersed in the hills of Tuscany, mixed and mastered by Stecconi at Triple Sun in Rome.

The cover features Testa di Terra (Head of Earth), a striking raw clay sculpture by Italian artist Roberta Busato. Just like the music within, the sculpture is born from the soil, fragile yet enduring. Depicted with closed eyes, the face alludes to a deeply meditative state, serving as the ultimate visual incarnation of the album's concept: a bold invitation to step out of the noise of customary, ordered life, embrace the fertile void, and leap headfirst into a world where the future and the past exist all at once. Artwork from the regular edition reappears within the layers of the limited edition, connecting the two versions. The limited cover features an irregularly shaped cutout and holds four differently colored inserts; these, too, are concentrically die-cut to reveal the final layer, the hidden object emerging from within: the disc itself, an artifact to be unearthed and listened to. The inner sheets can be rotated randomly, ensuring that every single copy of the limited edition has a slightly different appearance.

The first preview of Inhabit arrives through its title track, which opens the album, delivered through a somber video created by Michele Canevari. The band reveals of the song, “‘Inhabit’ is a mantra born from a deep, deliberate, and obsessive search between the textures of a guitar loop and a mystical vocal melody. We took different paths, pushed boundaries, and ultimately landed on the sound that feels closest to our roots, yet new to us. Conceptually, it explores the paradox of human attachment and serves as an invitation to dissolve into the present moment.”

Indonesian grindcore / hardcore band LAND OF TERROR have release a new EP, entitled "The Beginning of the End"

Racing againt time,represents the maturation of our musicality. Each song tells the story of making peace with the past in order to face the future.

For this third release, Land of Terror has chosen to shift genres from grindcore/grindpunk to hardcore metal—a style that is darker, grimmer, and sharper in both lyrics and musicality—as the change in vocalists has brought a fresh atmosphere to the band.

Lyrically, this mini-album voices concerns regarding societal stigmas surrounding the erosion of faith and the nation's sovereignty, under the title The Beginning of the End.

LAND OF TERROR was formed in June 2024 and has released an EP album containing 4 tracks, a single titled "Kafir" and in 2025 they released the full album "Petaka" with Konspirasi Hitam label. Now they have just made available their newest EP, "Beginning of the End"

“The universe was born from nothingness. A primordial hand took upon itself a blade of entropy to guide all matter through the cycle of heat death to eventually return to absolute nothingness. We rest now as a symptom of what used to be.

We are all clawing our way out of a dying world, whether or not we have a slackline of divinity to carry us out. Our hands are growing weak with every chipped stone that cracks our fingernails. We use tonics and medicines to temporarily strengthen our grip upon the monolith, only for us to slip further down into despair as entropy guides us towards the bottom. Each of us cling to the wall as if we were fighting against one another. There is no such thing as division. We hate for the sake of it, as it is inevitable for us to fall. But why must we be afraid of falling?

The will to death will eventually extinguish us, no matter which direction we take. It is not an excuse to lose oneself, however. We must let the tides take us where they must go and swim with the current. Life has no meaning without death. In an era where meaning has vanished, we must give it a new definition. All that can exist becomes realized from nothingness, even our brightest futures. We will hold out our hands in love as the world dies in a final celebration of our lives. Hope is to be drawn from the terror of absolute destruction.

The Deathdrone will take us all.”
