SUFFER YOURSELF RELEASE NEW TRACK "SPIT IN THE CHASM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Funeral doom institution SUFFER YOURSELF conspires with Aesthetic Death to release “Rip Tide”, the band’s third album, on June 25th 2021.

With the new album nearing release this month, Cvlt Nation is hosting the public premiere of an excerpt from the visionary opener, “Spit in the Chasm”. Check it out HERE!

Dark, morose, dirgeful– a maelstrom of intense doom death.

SUFFER YOURSELF have returned – following the acclaimed and respected 2016 release of “Ectoplasm” – with a new album that has taken the band to a new level of composition, construction and expression.

What immediately stands out is the darker death metal tones found within “Rip Tide” – those tones signified in the deathly doom of acts such as Esoteric or Evoken – however, SUFFER YOURSELF create their own space, with the maturity from over a decade of craft and unblinkered vision.

Throughout “Rip Tide” there is an undercurrent of suffocating drone – with all tracks being built upon the claustrophobic foundations of a drone score created by Belarusian artist UGASANIE. From that point the expressive composition adds layers of beautifully dissonant guitar work that has a notable 90s death metal feel to it. Within that there is an almost cinematic scope to the album – with sounds and samples embroidered into the music. The final touch being delivered with a mesmerising cello part – that is wonderfully woven into the tracks and adds such depth. Even though the feel of the album is the same throughout there is a distinct difference between all tracks.

All these elements are brought together, to create a maelstrom, a master class in underground extreme death doom.

SUFFER YOURSELF have crafted a wonderful album and have shown the world that they now sit amongst the best of the extreme doom genre

ARSHENIC TO RELEASE 4 NEW SINGLES

PRESS RELEASE:

Polish female-fronted band Arshenic announced the release of 4 new singles which will be released every month. The first single is already out and can listen at this location https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG79cA7Aa6U

Each track will differ in style and heaviness, which will not be a surprise for those who have heard Final Collision. Arshenic designs it's own music genre creates a variety of compositions, referring to alternative metal, Nordic folk, dark rock metalcore, or nu-metal, which, while maintaining the average tempo of the songs, combining clean vocals with the addition of screams and growls, gives a heavy, dark, but also very melodic sound of the whole. The new releases are characterized by the use of non-standard time signatures that give the songs a progressive sound. The goal was to create something new that would surprise the listener, but would also follow the path set by the greatest of their genre.

Last year, at the beginning of the pandemic, Arshenic released a cover of "Where did you sleep last night", along with a music video shooted on the cliffs of Polish most cinematic beach. The same year, Ofilia, the band's vocalist, was nominated by an international jury for the Best Clean Vocal 2020 FemMetal - Female Goddesses of Metal award, after which she was awarded first place in this category.

The first song to be released on 4/06/2021 is the Bloodsucker.

Bloodsucker is an energetic, rock-metal track. The beginning of which is inspired by the atmosphere of old-school metal bands such as Motorhead, Alice Cooper, or AC / DC, combined with the melodiousness of nu-metal and contemporary electronics. At the band's climax, the song turns into a progressive ballad with a post-rock vibe, vocals with a classic and musical feel. As a result, we have a one-of-a-kind piece that not only immediately catches the ear, but also surprises with its form.

2.07.21 Extraterrestrial - is a heavy, unpredictable piece with non-standard divisions, for connoisseurs of heavy and strange music. Strong guitars combined with whispers give a psychedelic effect, which increases when it enters another riff, based on djent guitars and the screaming question: did you take your drugs? The heaviness is calmed by a pleasant to the ear, melodic chorus, the lyrics of which refers to abductions by UFOs. It's a song for non-obvious combination fans and seekers of fresh, modern solutions.

6.08.21 Black Goat - a track inspired by progressive metal in the style of Deftones or Katatonia, combined with alternative metal and gutturals in the chorus. For metal fans who like non-standard connections and nostalgic mood. The lyrics of the song tell the story of complicated family relations.

3.09.21 Lucid - progressive meter, multi-layered vocals referring to Nordic folk in the style of bands such as Wardruna or Eivor and catchy chorus with metalcore guitars. The tribal and apocalyptic sound of the song emphasizes the meaning of the song's lyrics question and statement: They will bring us the end...?

FELL HARVEST RELEASE "PALE IN A DYING WORLD"

PRESS RELEASE:

Hailing from Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA, Fell Harvest etch out their place in the world of doom metal. They first introduced themselves to the scene in 2020 with a self-titled EP and are now following it up with a “Pale Light In a Dying World”.

Most of the tracks on this album were written by bassist/vocalist Joseph Fell including the first single “Titanicide”, which also happens to be the album’s opening track. He explains the track in his own words:

“This song is built around a collection of riffs I wrote more than 20 years ago. It has heavy influence from 90s bands like Samael and At The Gates. These riffs sat homeless in the back of my head all this time because I never felt an urge to unify and complete them. The title and lyrics are about transcending and ultimately destroying one’s idols, both literally and metaphysically.”

Fell and the rest of the band are excited to get feedback about this release; compared to its predecessor, it has more progressive elements while maintaining the straightforward doom and death metal tropes, and lyrical concepts. Those who are familiar with the band will notice a markedly different vocal style coming from Fell, entirely “clean” with no death or black metal harshness, which is the result of lung damage he sustained from contracting COVID during recording.

The album was mixed and mastered by Alexander Backlund, the man behind 1914’s “The Blind Leading the Blind”. It is recommended for fans of Paradise Lost, Opeth, and My Dying Bride.

“Titanicide” can be heard via its premiere on OutlawsofTheSun HERE

VISERION RELEASE "NATURAL SELECTION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Viserion

Natural Selection

Self-Released

13 August 2021

From its inception, Viserion has never shied away from the outlands of darkness and despair. Embodying the shadows that skirt our nightmares and steal our joy. Embracing the bleakness, their debut record “Natural Selection” will leave you haunted.

Formed in 2019, members John Magnani (guitarist),  Benedetto Marvilli (bassist and vocalist) and Matt Marvilli (drummer) came together to cast their long shadow over the world. Taking inspiration from arguably black metal’s most fertile and explosive period — the early to mid-1990s — the music channels the unrelenting terror and iciness of their forebears: Mayhem, Darkthrone and Behemoth. The foreboding darkness that transcends from each note is a palpable experience.

The collective hopelessness of the past year has been actively channeled into each of the 7 songs featured on “Natural Selection”.  Forced into separation and quarantine, the band embraced this melancholy in their composition, juxtaposed by the frenetic drumming of someone forced to create on the spot as the world, again, began to turn.

“Natural Selection” will be released August 13th, 2021. Dark and evasive in both presentation and lyrics, Viserion will lead you into the great undeniable void, dripping with beautiful anguish.
