STRIKER RELEASE NEW TRACK "DEATHWISH"

PRESS RELEASE:

Canadian heavy metal powerhouse STRIKER is back from the grave!

With rumours running rampant of the band calling it quits after they posted an image that was titled "RIP Striker 2007-2021" on their social media earlier this week. The award-winning shredders are excited to reveal that it was all just an ambiguous post that got fans speculating on the band’s future and was made to prepare them for the new music.

“We are finally ready to share our new single Deathwish. Inspired by 1980s AOR with a modern twist, Deathwish is a heavy metal banger we can’t wait to play live someday soon!” adds vocalist Dan Cleary.

The single is the first taste of new recordings since releasing their Juno award-winning album 2018's "Play To Win" along with it being Striker's introductory track with new drummer Jonathan Webster and bassist Pete Klassen who join the band in 2019.

HATE RELEASE VIDEO FOR "EXILES OF PANTHEON"

PRESS RELEASE:

Long-running blackened death metal unit Hate today unleashes their new video for “Exiles of Pantheon.” The ferocious track comes by way of the band’s Rugia full-length, recently released via Metal Blade Records.

View Hate‘s “Exiles of Pantheon” video at: youtu.be/LCjOzrrcIag

The “Exiles of Pantheon” video was created in collaboration with @9literfilmy film agency. Comments vocalist/guitarist ATF Sinner, “We’re extremely proud to present this picture for one of the most brutal and vicious tracks on Rugia. The song is about an old faith being reborn through an unholy, blood-soaked ritual. There are references to archaic beliefs on the island of Rugia – the last bastion of western Slavic paganism. Making this video was one hell of a challenge, because we were shooting throughout the night in extreme weather conditions. In the end, I think we got a picture that fits perfectly with the music. Watching it, you can almost feel freezing cold rain slashing at your face. I’ve no doubt our best video thus far.“

View the band’s previously released video for Rugia‘s title track at: youtu.be/8UhhoJ5-k24 – and “Resurgence” at: youtu.be/VvHPGPSbq5I

With sharp, unflinching viciousness and a sense of atmosphere unique to the band, no one combines death and black metal quite like Poland’s Hate. On Rugia, their savage twelfth full-length, they push the boundaries of their craft even further.

Rugia was tracked at Hertz Recording Studio in Poland, and recorded, mixed, and mastered by the Wieslaski Brothers (Behemoth, Decapitated) with longtime collaborator Michal Staczkun providing the ambient elements of the band’s signature sound. Additionally, the record marks Hate‘s thirtieth year of activity. ATF Sinner affirms he is as driven as ever. “The fire is still burning! I’m proud that I have built a band with such strong energy, that’s lasted for a long time in spite of numerous line-up changes and obstacles in our way. We are still here, and we create with ever growing consciousness and dedication. The energy speaks through us. Honestly, I think of the band as something much bigger and more profound than the individual people involved in it over any given period of time. I believe we create a channel for energies that surpass us.“

Hate‘s Rugia is available on CD, LP, and digital formats. Preview and purchase the record at: metalblade.com/hate

With 2012′s Aeons Black standing as one of the defining death metal albums of the twenty-first century, it has been a long wait for the follow up. In 2021, Sweden’s Aeon finally return with its successor, God Ends Here, and in doing so only up the ante with a record that is bigger, harder and stronger in every way. A darker, even more epic collection, it is everything an Aeon fan could want with a few surprises in store, pushing the genre in new directions, and once again asserting that they are one of the most important bands in extreme metal.

The main reason for the gap between records lies in finding the right drummer, having had a few pass through their ranks in the interim, Dark Funeral/Imperium drummer Janne Jaloma now manning the kit. Making his recording debut with the band is also bassist Tony Östman, who joined in 2013, during the touring cycle for Aeons Black. Guitarist Daniel Dlimi, who departed the Aeon fold in 2013, also returned to the band’s ranks in 2019, which inspired guitarist Zeb Nilsson to write, having really missed collaborating with him.

Drums were recorded in Jaloma’s own Studio Starköl, guitars and bass in the band’s own Rise to Dominate Studio, and the vocals were recorded at Metallfabriken Studio, where some guitar re-amping was also done. Producer Ronnie Björnström, who presided over Aeons Black, once again oversaw proceedings, making sure everything sounded as big as possible. Expanding the sonic palette are strings and choirs, the orchestral elements primarily programmed by Nilsson with Dlimi handling those on “Mephistopheles”, while Nilsson wrote the choir parts. With dramatic artwork by Italian artist Paolo Girardi the final piece of the puzzle, the finished package extends Aeon‘s legacy and gives the genre the push that was intended from the outset. They may have been gone a long time but make no mistake: Aeon are back, and God Ends Here will lay waste to all.

THERION RELEASE VIDEO FOR "NOCTURNAL LIGHT"

PRESS RELEASE:

Swedish symphonic metal pioneers THERION have released their seventeenth Studio album, "Leviathan," earlier this year, and it proved to be another big success. It has entered world-wide album sales charts peaking at #8 (Rock & Metal) in the UK, at #11 in Germany and #14 (physical) in Sweden, only to name a few. Today, THERION are releasing yet another dark and haunting music video for a song from "Leviathan" called "Nocturnal Light", which you can watch below:

THERION - Nocturnal Light (Official Video): https://youtu.be/yiqg9CuYags

THERION's Christofer Johnsson comments:

"This is a very epic song with Middle Eastern influences written by Thomas Vikström. The lyrics deal with the Sumerian goddess Inanna. It was one of his first contributions to the Leviathan writing sessions.”
