Out of tribulations, a new album by Srd - 'Vragvmesiton'.

After four years of silence since their last release and with only a handful of live performances in the meantime, Srd spawn their third full-length release baptised as vragvmesiton. The naming itself undoubtedly unfamiliar to a foreigner, pays no homage to a native either. While coinage is theirs alone and for that matter translation into lingua franca of our time too difficult to bother, the idea within – which is that of temptations and limitations of flesh in feud with reason yet transcendence of the spirit; that of chaos opposed to order and form; that of Dionysian against Apollonian; that of abhorred standing against divine – is familiar to us all.

While the core aesthetic is still that of Srd, music and prophet-like vocal utterance nevertheless convey a different dimension. From wordplays and chants, to the use of Slovenian unique north-eastern dialect; not fearing instrumental experimentations, although still accompanied by a slow-paced rock’n’rollish black metal. Safe paths leaning onto unsafe and untested territories, similar as the contrasting idea within, such are the aesthetic conflicts of vragvmesiton as well.

Spider Mother Earth journey began in 2017, in Lisbon (Portugal) with the creation of the first compositions of the themes, combined with the roots and musical influences, faithful and passionate of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal of the golden years, making these styles, the main base/influence on the instrumental, but with my personal vision and expression.

The lyrics are mainly directed to positive, towards the mental well-being of the Human Being, among multiple concepts that I like and see myself as philosophy, spirituality and my personal vision, about society and the implanted system.

Spider Mother Earth is a solo project, with the aspect and component of adaptation very present in the vibe of a band, composed by Carlos Falé.

As a result of his study and acquired experience, developed over the years, both in the studio and on stage, he became a multi-instrumentalist, composer, lyricist and vocalist.

Until the present date, it has materialized and accomplish:

In 2020, in Slovenia, the demo album, titled Always Phoenix, came out.

In 2022, in Slovenia, the album entitled Insights of Prophecy came out.

There is a black metal atmosphere with a kick of old school death metal, while the vocals leave one questioning the genres. As such Kamra is still veiled and secretive, as it is not exactly known who the members are.

What is known is that Kamra resides in Slovenia and has released their EP as a two-piece. Presently, they consist of five people who strive to create a bond between chaos and sound. Speaking of the track “Death Vernacular,” Ensanguinate offers:

“DEATH VERNACULAR is a freeze-frame of the longest moment at the end of every life, where words fail and rationale gives way to pure intuition and knowledge through oneness with death. It is the only point where de Saussure’s signifier is truly bypassed and no longer burdens the ego, allowing it to dissolve and fully meld with the signified: true Death.

“Mimicking this is ENSANGUINATE’s goal. It is both a paradox and ironic, to be sure, yet by staring into the abyss and immersing ourselves in death and tragedy through these songs - an additional layer to the lyrics for DEATH VERNACULAR - and pairing them with the proper keys during our live performances, we may at least glimpse our goal and eschew language for true intuition, if only briefly.

MARK DATTER RELEASE "DEATHSWING"

Mark Datter is a solo cover project of Matej Voglar (Snøgg, Carnifliate, The Stroj, s0n667, Mr. Van Punk, De Viant DJ (Sikk.ru), ex-Krvava Rosa, ex-Entheogen). Matej started using this alias long time ago on different singer/songwriter open mic nights, jams and solo performances playing covers of different genres ranging from country, grunge, metal, rock and folk. As Mark Datter he is also playing guitar and sings in a punk cover band Mr. Van Punk. Their specialty is that they travel around in a van and are instantly ready for a performance. The set up takes about two minutes, they play for about 15 minutes and in two minutes they are ready to move on. They have been quite an attraction in their hometown of Velenje. 

But let's get back to Mark's solo work. During the first covid-19 quarantine in march-may 2020 Mark rearranged a couple of songs by his death metal/grindcore band Carnifliate in a swing fashion. The melos of what became reminds heavily of the band Morphine, which Mark adores and have performed their stuff many times. The original were written in the era when Matej was not yet in Carnifliate, what helped in that manner that he did not cover his own songs, yet songs of his friends that he was very familiar with and sure that he will get a confirmation for releasing the album, where many authors might not be pleased if someone would take their songs and lyrics out of a context. The album "Deathswing" includes five songs from Carnifliate's first album "Slaughtelust" and one from their sophomore album "Disgusting Festivities". It was recorded in Kunigunda studio Velenje by Rok Kugonič who also worked on Carnifliate's and Snøgg's albums in the second half of 2020.

“No History might be the most Noctiferia song on the Reforma album. It is very dynamic and It has all the elements we are known for. Slovenian death metal band MEPHISTOPHELIAN will release their new album "Anotos" on September 4th. The album is the band´s debut full length release and the succesor to their "Promo" from 2014. CURSED BE THY FLESH RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM ON CASSETTE

International black metal band CURSED BE THY FLESH will release their debut album "The Ritual" on June 6th. The band has released also this year a split with WILLOW ASH entitled "The Dark Summoning". "The Ritual" will be released on cassette in a limited edition of 25 copies through Wrought Records. All instruments were recorded at Studio Toplica and the vocals in Nagoth's home studio. The album was mixed and mastered at Studio Toplica. The album was already released digitally and on CD since April. More info on:
