MORS VERUM RELEASE "THE LIVING"

PRESS RELEASE:

Mors Verum

The Living

Self-Released

5 November 2021

As often as music exists separate from real life, the intersection between reality and the vibe of any new music is always a potent fruit to let ripen or rot if it helps or hurts to define a group's music in any given place in time. In spite of worldwide hope that 2021 might be less bleak than 2020, a multiplicity of new problems and scenarios have made clear we're much further from any sort of recovery and growth than we'd like.

What better soundtrack to ride out these ongoing dark times exists than potent dismal death metal from Mors Verum? The Canadian trio, active since 2014, featuring well-known drummer Greg Carvalho (ex-Bloodshot Dawn live, Aepoch) paired with multi-instrumentalist Mrudul Kamble on guitar/bass and vocalist Lyndon Quadros have plenty of potent venom and notable ideas to spare on their new EP, The Living. Set for release on Friday, November 5th.

Mors Verum - The Living serves as the group's third release, following their 2019 full-length, Deranged, and initial 2015 EP, Indoctrination Forest. Mors Verum - The Living was a largely self-recorded and a self-mixed affair, aided by a notable punch on the mastering end from Fuck The Facts guitarist Topon Das. That band's music ended up serving as an influence on the band in a way that helps them stick out from the normal dissonant death metal sound.

In the endless rat race to out-spew, out-filth, and out-derange everyone else, Mors Verum - The Living stands out as a nasty ode to embracing old and new, obscure and well known, into something extremely disturbing without sacrificing memorability. Mors Verum - The Living will appeal to fans of bands such as Artificial Brain, Fuck the Facts, Imperial Triumphant, Plebeian Grandstand, Morbid Angel, Incantation, and Ulcerate.

Mors Verum band statement about The Living EP

“The Living” is a concept EP that beckons the listener to inspect life as an artifact of death and its infinity. Dissonant passages, dizzying drums, introspective lyrics, and groovy chaos come together to create a musical journey flowing with variety. The song titles create the sentence “Inside Death's Womb Purge the Living.” A statement reflecting our observations of conscious existence. Crafted with intention and vigor, “The Living” is the most focused and intense release from Mors Verum. Though the subject matter is grim, the music implores the listener to seek beauty in the vast emptiness of mortality."

OUR COMMON SENSE RELEASE "HARBINGER OF CALAMITY"

PRESS RELEASE:

Our Common Sense is a post-metal band with an exiciting touch of the heavier genres, offering mesmerizing riffs with a blend of stonder, sludge and doom references.

In their early years (2014-2016) the trio who established the band (Jelle & Seppe Baetslé and Glenn Thienpont) only wrote instrumental metal. With the addition of Thomas De Wispelaere and Stijn Beeckman in January 2017, their music was molded into a mix of different genres. It was at that moment the five youngsters tried to blend the stoner metal vision of Glenn and Stijn with the post-hardcore influences of Thomas. A blend that would turn out quite well...

After releasing their first EP 'Mankind's Worst To Know' in 2018, the band conquered many different stages and recieved great reception. Belgian magazine RockXXL selected their five songs as one of the best metal EP's of 2018. The same year Our Common Sense won the final of a Dutch contest 'Steenworp' and in 2019 they were chosen to participate in a nationwide contest (Humo's Rock Rally 2020). At March 2020 they were put on the radar of Alcatraz Metal Festival as well. Thanks to the magazine 'Rock Tribune' Our Common Sense could enter a contest to battle other bands to claim a spot at the festival. After a hiatus of a year due to COVID19 the band signed a contract in May 2021 to release 'Harbinger Of Calamity' under Wormholedeath records. 'Harbinger Of Calamity' brings the story of what happens after 'Mankind's Worst To Know', which will be included on the CD for a world wide release.

REDEMPTUS RELEASE "BLACKHEARTED"

PRESS RELEASE:

Today (07 September 2021), Porto hardcore fueled sludge/post-metal squad Redemptus celebrates the release of the 3rd album, blackhearted, in cooperation with Gruesome Records, Raging Planet Records, Regulator Records, and Ring Leader Records in different formats: Vinyl, CD, Cassette, and digital.

Invisible Oranges offered the advanced stream of the full-length ahead of its release (read full feature + stream the album RIGHT HERE).

Redemptus informs:

“‘Blackhearted’ speaks to and for all of us, who’s been struggling with anxiety, stress, difficulty. That’s the thing everybody feels, that’s the thing everybody can identify with — loss, sorrow, suffering — that is the glue; everybody knows what it is like to be through it.

“We wanted to put it out there, to speak about it, to open up ourselves, to share our true emotions, our true fears, and inner demons, to put the stigmas to rest,  to show that there is no problem in being sad or feel down, but that is always better to speak to seek help from one another, knowing that we are in this together.

“An album made by people, for people, without any barriers or concerns regarding music genres.”

Access blackhearted on digital/streaming platforms RIGHT HERE

Formed in 2014, Redemptus has been blurring the lines between metal, hardcore, punk, and progressive music. Truly wearing their heart on their sleeves, the Portuguese trio channels raw, uncontrolled emotion through their heavy music. Over the years, they have frequently been touring Europe, from Portugal to Russia. They played acclaimed festivals and venues such as Amplifest, SWR Barroselas, Vagos Metal Fest, etc., and shared the stage with celebrated names like Neurosis, Napalm Death, Entombed A.D., Glassjaw, Torche, just to name a few. Redemptus has two full-lengths and a split (w/ Brazilian group Basalt) in their arsenal.

The latest album, blackhearted, was written and recorded in 2020. This record is the first release since the band’s lineup change in March 2018, when Pedro Simões replaced Miguel Santos on guitars. Experiencing disquiet in ease and solace in ache, the 10-track album embraces the state of being vulnerable, inviting one to speak up and put self-stigma to rest.

Get wrecked on the genre-defying extreme music of Redemptus and explore your inner demons and sorrows.

ABSTRACTER TO RELEASE "ABOMINION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Sentient Ruin is proud to renew their long running partnership with American apocalyptic Black/Doom metal harbingers Abstracter as they prepare the release of their fourth full-length LP "Abominion", the band’s most accomplished, intimidating and imposing album to date, scheduled for release in early October via Sentient Ruin worldwide.

To coincide with the release of pre-orders, “Eclipse Born”, the first and opening track from the album has been unveiled by No Clean Singing for America and Metalitalia for Europe, with NCS appropriately explaining that “Within this vortex of pummeling percussion and gale-strength abrasion, shimmering and glittering tones pierce through in fiery frenzies, the music ascends in a display of towering and hideous magnificence, and stomps like a leviathan through a field of skulls once more. What an apocalyptic upheaval the song is! To use different metaphors, it’s like tectonic plates crushing together beneath the earth’s surface while the stars fall, wailing. And when the music begins to race, it’s simultaneously electrifying and harrowing, a scouring and screaming sandstorm gale that strips flesh from bone, with rhythms that ruinously smash boulders to rubble, to the accompaniment of truly terrorizing vocals.”. You can check out both features HERE and HERE.

The Oakland CA-based apocalyptic black doom harbingers re-emerge with their inhumanly crushing fourth full-length album “Abominion”, a ghastly forty-minute hellscape of lightless crush-depth deep inside the darkest abysses of the apocalypse. Extreme and devastating in every sense possible, the soul-crushing album sees the enigmatic American band elevate their long lasting apocalyptic concept to its scariest and most overwhelming extremes yet, coercing the harshest strains of black and doom metal with ravaging scarifications of noise and droning dark ambient into a bleak and suffocating sonic cataclysm of complete darkness and annihilation. In its imposing and terrifying forty minutes “Abominion” obliterates all sense of hope in the listener and casts a harrowing vision into a dark future of total doom and torment where the last human life forms scavenge a devastated radioactive twilight buried in ash and ruins as dark forces of mysterious origin surround them and crush them under the inescapable heel of armageddon. Distilled from pure pessimism and misanthropy, the album’s daunting concept establishes mankind as a parasitic scourge or delusional rogue pestilence or antichrist-like figure and is told in the form of memories, precognitions, reckonings and regret within the human race as concepts like environmental collapse, war, militarism, religious fanaticism, pollution, deviated industrialism, fatalism, greed, avarice, evil, and delusions of glory are littered throughout the artwork and lyrics to help the listener grapple with the complete ruin and darkness they are immersed in through the music.

Known for forging their imposing and ominous sound across a massive spectrum of influences that include apocalyptic and eschatological literature and fiction, Abstracter’s otherworldly and monstrous strain of apocalyptic blackened doom contains influences coming from unforgettable dark metal and punk bands like Celtic Frost and Tryptykon, Godflesh, Khanate, Corrupted, Leviathan, Swans, Sunn O))), Amebix, Blut Aus Nord, The Ruins of Beverast, Portal, Dystopia, and Disembowelment as well as from certain underground scholars of dark ambient and industrial noise that the band have meticulously distilled and reworked into their sound over the last decade to forge a completely unheard of and unclassifiable colossal aural weapon of mass extinction.

Recorded and mixed once again by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios here in Oakland and mastered by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone in Minnesota, "Abominion" also introduces new members Justin Ennis behind the drum kit (Vale, Ulthar, ex-Mutilation Rites, ex-Tombs), and G. on bass (ex-Mefitic) and is by all means the most curated Sentient Ruin release ever conceived. Envisioned with the band in close partnership and collaboration the album features artwork entirely conceived by the band’s singer and visual artist MA, along with contributions by gore collage artist Adam Medford and occult Venezuelan art studio BMS Illustration.

The massive record is scheduled for an October 1 2021 release date and will be available in a high end packaging for all formats with unseen levels of curation and detail, including black, glow in the dark and marbled 180gr vinyl, printed inner sleeves and gatefold jacket for all vinyl versions and the CD edition, A2 poster and slipcase for the limited vinyl editions, silkscreened slipcase for the tape edition, OBI and download card to lossless audio and PDF inlay and lyric sheet for all formats. A Japanese CD release will be also available soon from Obliteration Records, while exclusive merch including hoodies, shirts, pins and patches will be available from the band.
