URIEL RE-RELEASE "MULTIVERSE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Uriel

Multiverse

1 October 2021

Exquisitely entwining ethereal orchestration with haunting vocals and thundering metal instrumentation, URIEL explore a bewitching combination of light and dark sounds. URIEL initially began as a studio project in 2008 before growing into a line-up and performing live shows. Transitioning through musical styles to land with a strong classical influence fused with melodic death metal. URIEL’s latest studio album Multiverse originally released on the 25th October 2019.

“With everything that happened with the world in the past two years, we felt like we couldn’t really promote our new album the way it deserved to be promoted. We put so much effort, so much love into this record, we feel like doing a re-release is the only way to give Multiverse the love it deserves. We hope you will love this album the same way we do ♥️”

“Long Way Home” opens the album with graceful instrumentation. Reminiscent of EVANESCENCE’s The Open Door, the serene vocals and orchestration build up gradually to a dramatic effect. URIEL reveal more of their signature sound; a gentle and yet powerful offering drawing emotive elements as the album progresses. The title track delivers graceful, elegant soaring clean vocals and guttural, ear-splitting harsh as the metal parts are introduced. From the fast pace and intricate melodies of “A Thousand Burdens” through to the gentle conclusion with “A Heart Underneath”, Multiverse is an epic fusion of emotion, creativity and musical styles.

URIEL acknowledge the character of each instrument and vocalist, and use their strengths to form a majestic sound. The raw delicacy of the orchestral instruments is artfully conveyed while the grounding, heavy impact of the distorted guitars and percussion thunders through the music. Multiverse is an enchanting exploration of beauty and brutality.

WOLFTOOTH TO RELEASE "BLOOD & IRON"

PRESS RELEASE:

Richmond, Indiana’s WOLFTOOTH launched onto the scene in 2017, swiftly grabbing the attention of fans, tastemakers and industry alike. Now, building upon the subterranean success of their lauded previous albums (2018’s Wolftooth and 2020’s Valhalla), the band unveils their colossal full-length Napalm Records debut, Blood & Iron, out December 3, 2021.

Offering an immense slab of proto-metal influenced heaviness with a deep dose of doom essence and addictive stoner riffage, Blood & Iron isn’t just epic in sound, but at heart. The album travels through a treasure trove of fantasy-themed lyrical influences – exploring mystical and often treacherous themes of mythology, lore and legend with a focus on sorcery, battle and non-stop adventure. Recorded, mixed and mastered by producer Jeremy Lovins, Blood & Iron is a true nod to classic, feel-good American heavy metal with modernized flair.

Today, listeners can get a first taste of Blood & Iron with victorious first single “The Voyage”, accompanied by a brand new music video filmed in Indianapolis, Indiana by Mike Yonts. Fists will be pumping within the first few notes as the track triumphantly gallops forth with chugging riffs, soaring vocals, piercing basslines and powerful melodies.

WOLFTOOTH says about “The Voyage” and its music video:

“The concept of ‘The Voyage’ was initially about Marco Polo's voyage on the Silk Road, but we adapted it to our voyage through our musical careers from young children to now. The boys in the video represent us as kids in the beginning of our voyage, daydreaming about where we are now. All in all, the song is based on the idea of what it takes to reach your destination – the sacrifices, pitfalls, and ultimately the rewards that come along when striving for your goals.”

If you enjoy your metal homegrown, larger-than-life and with a weighty dose of mystical storytelling, WOLFTOOTH’s Blood & Iron is your newest obsession.

Blood & Iron begins ominously with “Ahab” – beckoning the listener to join WOLFTOOTH’s fabled trek with an isolated guitar introduction before bursting into a sticky, metallic blues jam, instantly echoing the likes of Black Sabbath to Pallbearer while maintaining fresh delivery. The track effectively poises the album for greatness before leading into two tales of historic prevalence backed by trudging riffage – Xerces epic “Hellespont”, and mythical ode to triumphant Irish warrior Cú Chulainn, “Blood & Iron”. The tracks ebb and flow amid melodic solos, sludgy rhythms and charging drums, evident on songs like galloping, thrash-injected assault “Broken Sword” and headbang-inducing, lead-laden “A King’s Land”. WOLFTOOTH continue their immense sonic storytelling with soaring saga “The Voyage” and frigid ballad “Winter White” before closing out the nine enormous tunes on Blood & Iron with two of its most standout offerings – cohesive and rhythmically-enticing “Garden Of Hesperides” and driving final epic “The Mare” – depicting stories of 100-headed dragons, witches, dark horses and mind control. What more could a true metalhead ask for?

WOLFTOOTH adds about the album:

"Blood & Iron is the culmination of all the work that we as a band have put into forging our sound over the last four years. Musically, we feel that we've honed what works well for us while expanding on what was already there. This album represents a more mature direction, relying on classic heavy metal influence with a strong nod to our proto-metal roots. Lyrically, the album focuses on kings, battle, conquest and myth. These elements together coalesce into a riff-laden slab of heavy metal that we are all proud of."

VARIUS RELEASE "CONCORDANCE" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

Niagara Falls, ON, Canada's VARIUS will release their new EP "Concordance" due out November 5th.

The band prides itself on being experimental and incorporating a wide variety of elements from across the metal spectrum (death metal, melodic death, prog, thrash) and unrelated genres as well.

“Concordance” is all about both diversity and consistency. As a band, they were motivated to include four distinct tracks with each one primarily written by a different band member. The result was a naturally diverse EP and yet despite taking this approach, they say it can still be considered their most collaborative release to date.

Varius formed following the dissolution of a previous band; the name meaning ‘various’ comes from the idea of playing different styles of metal in one band, along with influences from other music. Originally, they started performing as an instrumental group to gather a local fanbase, with keyboards taking the harmonic range. Eventually, the keys were replaced with a vocalist and they became the four-piece they are today.

Heavy and groovy, Varius and their wide range of influence are recommended for fans of Death, Children of Bodom and Hypocrisy.

“We are very excited to present our new EP, Concordance, the strongest Varius release to date. Concordance represents Varius at its most collaborative; each member of the band has brought a unique song to the table. The result is an EP defined by both its diversity and its consistency in spirit. We were all very motivated to bring each others’ visions to life, and the tracks came together as some of our heaviest and grooviest to date. Each of Concordance’s four songs are rooted firmly in their own area of the metal spectrum, and they are as varied lyrically as they are musically. Concordance explores themes of battle, demonic magics, psychological challenges, and a bleak look at the future of death. We believe that all types of metal fans, and fans of fantasy and science fiction alike, are sure to find something they like about Concordance.” - Varius
