ANNIHILUS MUNDI RELEASE "THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Annihilus Mundi

The Dead Sea Scrolls

Independent

6 November 2026

Genre-fusing progressive project ANNIHILUS MUNDI is preparing to unleash the forthcoming sophomore full-length The Dead Sea Scrolls on November 6, 2026. The 77-minute long concept album explores the personal lived experiences of composer and lyricist Daniel Saillant. In a fusion of genres and artforms, ANNIHILUS MUNDI reconceptualizes the album's central ideas through Hideaki Anno’s notorious 1995 anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and its subsequent 1997 film The End of Evangelion.

The sound of cicadas introduces "Second Impact (Overture)". Mirroring a soundscape familiar to fans of anime and Evangelion in particular, the core instrumental motifs found across the album subsequently emerge. It is a display of complex and textural layers including metal instruments, full orchestra, harpsichord, piano and electronics - elements that are central to ANNIHILUS MUNDI's characteristic sound. Narratively, the song covers the 'Second Impact', a cataclysm caused by the interactions of scientists from an expedition into Antarctica with a primordial being called Adam, the First Angel, along with the death of Gendo’s wife and Shinji’s mother, Yui Ikari.

"Absolute Terror" captures ANNIHILUS MUNDI's core sonic identity while pushing deeper into the band’s progressive roots. Featuring fierce vocals by Noah Magnelli and guitar solo performance by Chris Jones of (ÆTHER REALM), the track's chaotic death metal riffing and an expansive melodic atmosphere is dynamic yet accessible. It draws inspiration from the metaphysical Absolute Terror Field (AT Field) concept from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

"A Hedgehog’s Dilemma" takes its name from the metaphor coined by German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer and shares the title with an episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion. "A Hedgehog’s Dilemma" is centered around the protagonist from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Shinji, and the impacts of his social masking that is used as a defensive mechanism. Across the track, ferocious death metal rhythms contrast against the uplifting melodies in the orchestral arrangements and vocal lines.

"The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. I - 'Reminiscence'" and the following "Mvt. II" combine to form an epic 13-minute opus with this first offering exploring Saillant's personal experiences with social anxiety. This track draws on the characters of the anime and the harm caused by repressed trauma, such as to Gendo’s unwillingness to process the death of his wife. Notably, the music includes a melody and verse that manifest in multiple tracks over The Dead Sea Scrolls.

Featuring a guitar solo by Andrew Matarazzo (PERENNIAL QUEST), "The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. II - 'Incursion'" opens with a serene, somber mood led by clean tones and melodies before erupting into intense heavy instrumentation. Drawing inspiration from the Katsuragi expedition, the song describes a society who has constructed their goals based on face-value interpretations of the words of ancient civilizations, leading to their mutual destruction.

With "Black Moon", the goal of this song is to explore the religious imagery found throughout Evangelion which generally has very few themes explicitly related to faith. Musically, it deviates from progressive realms to deliver a shorter piece situated firmly in death metal. The track's chorus features Olive Gallop (ICE GIANT) and is designed to be chanted by a crowd, and contains a fun two-step friendly hook. "Black Moon" also features a guitar solo by Chris Ramusiewicz (GRAVEBORN).

A discordant combination of dial-up modem tones, folk melodies and mournful vocal performances by Saillant and Magnelli form an uncanny soundscape in "King of Thorns". Journeying through the track melancholic guitar leads segue into progressive, jazz-led realms in a chaotic yet dreamy fusion of styles before concluding with heavy chugs. "King of Thorns" reflects Saillant's anxieties for the future amidst the global uncertainty experienced in April 2020.

"Terminal Dogma, Mvt. I - 'Do you love me?'", the first of an 18-minute offering divided into four songs, emerges with woodwind accompaniment to bright guitar melodies. A dark mood prevails across the intricate textural arrangements, with the song's pre-chorus building with a sense of urgency. "Mvt. I" culminates into an explosive display of thunderous rhythms and intense vocals. This song follows the sequence of events in The End of Evangelion that eventually lead to the death of Asuka Langley Soryu, Shinji’s friend and romantic interest.

Blasting into "Terminal Dogma, Mvt. II - 'Take care of yourself'", the second part builds on the momentum of "Mvt. I" bringing a heightened power and fierce aggression channeled through Noah Magnelli's monstrous gutturals and unrelenting abrasive instrumental layers. The track features Sarah Hartman of AVERSED and is positioned from the perspective of Asuka’s as she takes on the Mass Production Series Evas. An insight into Asuka’s psyche is revealed showing the repression of her trauma and refusal to process it.

Ethereal orchestral strings seep through the shadows of "Mvt. II", leading into "Terminal Dogma, Mvt. III - 'Love is destructive'". This song is an arrangement of the 1899 orchestral composition titled "Enigma Variations IX. Nimrod", by English composer Edward Elgar. This song is a tribute to several sequences from Evangelion, including Asuka’s torture at the hands of the Angel Arael in Episode 22 of Neon Genesis Evangelion, the clip show style of Episodes 25 and 26 of the original show, and Shinji’s Third Impact sequence in End of Evangelion. It is designed to simulate the feeling of self-depreciation and anxieties of what other people really think of you.

In the final instalment, "Terminal Dogma, Mvt. IV - 'I need you'" descends into a ferocious onslaught of dissonance, Magnelli's gritty harsh vocals and dominating rhythms. In the track's breakdown, obliterating gutturals unleash a decimating impact before returning to a soaring and anthemic final chorus. It concludes Asuka’s storyline as she finally succumbs to the Mass Productions Evas and dies. In a deviation from the source material, Asuka is forced to truly confront her trauma relating to her mother’s suicide and her decision to die peacefully. "Mvt. IV" ends with a reprise of the main riff from "Mvt.I - 'Do you love me?'" but in a different key, symbolizing the full circle nature of mental illness like Asuka’s and Shinji’s.

In "Silent Planet", wave of white noise groans into life as vocals become audible through the wall of sound. Contrapuntal layers of contrasting melodies and textures rise and fall, as if reaching out from the void. Lyrically, "Silent Planet" is a reprise of The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt.I - “Reminiscence.” In this version of the refrain, there is basically no melody. Continuing the album's narrative, Shinji explores the idea that people can grow beyond the mistakes they’ve made in life but is saddened that this concept has been denied to him in life.

The Dead Sea Scrolls conclude with "Human Instrumentality". The untamable force of the instrumentation brings forth a fury of aggression. ANNIHILUS MUNDI's distinctive vocal harmonies and uplifting progressions disrupt the heaviness momentarily, before an epic collation of these styles is reached. Comprised of three parts, this composition explores how religious propaganda has been used by ruling classes throughout history to incite fear and control the general populace. Part one, "Mother Machine", is primarily a criticism of organized religion’s weaponization of religious texts by those in positions of power to harm marginalized groups. The second part titled "Superior Species" is situated in the aftermath of centuries of religious indoctrination from the perspective of a member of the billionaire class who now has to deal with the consequences. Finally, "Human Instrumentality", imagines a world where there is no longer a fear-based or class-based divide between people.

The Dead Sea Scrolls was produced, mixed and mastered, and engineered by Daniel Saillant at Wailing Pines Productions.

THE FUNERAL PROCESSION RELEASE "CARRION"

PRESS RELEASE:

THE FUNERAL PROCESSION UNLEASH NEW EP CARRION — OUT NOW

HyperFollow: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/thefuneralprocession1/carrion-2

Listen / Buy: thefuneralprocessiontx.bandcamp.com/album/carrion

Texas progressive melodic death metal outfit The Funeral Procession have officially released their latest EP Carrion , now available worldwide as of April 27, 2026.

Known for fusing technical precision with emotional weight and a cinematic edge, the band continues to sharpen their identity and push forward into deeper, darker territory. Carrion builds on the foundation laid by their debut full-length In Still Silence , delivering a more refined and immersive take on their signature sound.

The band’s momentum hasn’t slowed. With roughly 130K streams across platforms, a UK iTunes Metal Chart appearance, and a win at the Dallas Wacken Metal Battle, The Funeral Procession have proven they’re not just another name in the underground. They’ve shared stages with heavy hitters like Orbit Culture, Anciients, Life Cycles, and Fervence, and they’re clearly gearing up for a bigger breakout.

On Carrion , the band leans harder into atmosphere and emotional depth while maintaining the progressive complexity that defines them. It’s a record that hits in waves, moving from bleak and brooding passages to explosive, cathartic peaks. If you’re into the kind of heavy that actually makes you feel something, this one’s worth your time. Fans of Katatonia, Opeth, and Swallow the Sun should feel right at home here.

Band Statement

“Carrion is the culmination of everything we've become since our first album. We're finally stepping into our own identity — a sound that weaves between sorrow, anger, and indignation, moving through darkness and light to explore the full weight of the human condition. This EP is us at our most honest, and we hope it connects.”

— Bryan Cox, The Funeral Procession

SALLOW MOTH RELEASE NEW SINGLE "BIOHYBRID VIRULENCE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Progressive Death Metal duo, Sallow Moth, in collaboration with No Clean Singing, has premiered "Biohybrid Virulence," the second single from upcoming Willowtip album, Hydrophilous Brood! Stream it below!

nocleansinging.com/2026/06/16/an-ncs-premiere-sallow-moth-biohybrid-virulence/

Hydrophilous Brood takes place in Pamugara, a dimensional nest immersed in a lush world where organisms are rematerialized into new hybrid species after passing through a powerful portal, a highly unpredictable artifact known as the ‘Mossbane Lantern’. Each song has a thematic connection to various artifacts on the previous album (Mossbane Lantern), extrapolating the characteristics and aftereffects of those artifacts within this temperamental environment of a planet.

Musically, Sallow Moth goes hand in hand with the aforementioned lyrical themes of transformation in that the continuous evolution of the project has become a signature feature with each album. This album retains a portion of the genre-shifting approach of previous works, but deliberately exhibits more focus on the intersection of technical death metal and brutal death metal, especially with the addition of a highly skilled drummer in Allen Gingerich. Notable influences on Hydrophilous Brood include Mortal Decay, Wormed, Deeds of Flesh, Cephalic Carnage, and Cynic.

Hydrophilous Brood is out July 24 on vinyl, CD, and digital formats via Willowtip Records!

NUMENTO RELEASE NEW TRACK: "ONE WITH THE VOID"

PRESS RELEASE:

“One With The Void” is a metaphorical portrayal of a painful death, through which Numento, a Finnish progressive melodeath band, briefly returns to its older musical roots. The story behind the song draws inspiration from a particularly sinister and fascinating natural phenomenon: the fungus Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, better known as the zombie-ant fungus, which infects carpenter ants. The fungus takes complete control of its host, manipulates its behavior, and forces the ant to climb high into vegetation before its inevitable end.

Appropriately for its subject matter, the song moves through agonizingly oppressive atmospheres, twisting in pain before an unavoidable dark death — only for the cycle of infection to start again, over and over. The phenomenon and narrative can also be seen as reflections of human behavioral patterns, particularly in the worlds of crime, manipulation and cults.

Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Amazon Music etc.):

Musically, the composition combines the trademark contrasts that have become characteristic of Numento: brutality and melancholy intertwined with diverse vocal expressions and memorable guitar melodies. “One With The Void” is part of an upcoming EP scheduled for release later this year.

WEAK & MORTAL RELEASE "THE DARKEST PLACES ON THE EARTH"

PRESS RELEASE:

After CORTEGE went on hiatus in early 2025, Sebastian Bartek and Kamil Szuszkiewicz decided to continue their musical activities under the name WEAK AND MORTAL. The duo remained within the death metal genre, but the musicians decided to open themselves up to other sounds, which resulted with progressive structures of the songs in the introduction of electronics and samples into their music.

After unsuccessfully searching for new band members, Sebastian and Kamil decided to record their debut material independently.

In December 2025, the duo entered the Czech DiGaZ Recording Studio in Karviná, where they recorded their debut EP, "The Darkest Places on the Earth." Tom "Digaz" Pletnický (Inferno, Thenemis) was behind the console, significantly influencing the final shape of the music. Cover artwork was done by Kamil Szuszkiewicz.

WEAK AND MORTAL's debut EP contains four tracks, comprising nearly twenty-five minutes of dark, heavy, unconventional, and at times downright anthemic music.

EP was released on March 31, 2026 by German label A.D.G Records (mailorder: adg.militia@gmail.com). We invite you to listen to the entire EP on the Forever Misanthropia Youtube channel.

PARTHIAN RELEASE "MORTUORUM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Wichita, Kansas – Progressive Death Metal outfit Parthian has officially released their long-awaited concept album Mortuorum, now available on all major streaming platforms. The record is a fearless, genre-blending journey through life, death, and resilience, showcasing the band’s most ambitious and cathartic work to date.

The album’s opening single "Martyrless"—released March 15—set the tone with its relentless aggression and 80s-slasher-inspired music video. Now, Mortuorum expands on that foundation with a full slate of progressive death metal tracks that are as emotionally resonant as they are sonically intense.

Mortuorum was written during a period of profound loss for the band. Vocalist Adam lost his father and great uncle, drummer DJ lost his uncle, bassist Jacky and his wife experienced a heartbreaking midterm pregnancy loss, and guitarist Justin’s wife is currently battling cancer. Rather than break them, the grief became a crucible that forged one of the most personal and powerful albums in their catalog.

“We wanted Mortuorum to be an exploration of death and the way it affects us—not just as individuals but as a collective,” says vocalist Adam. “We experienced loss, but also a deep sense of support and resilience, and that’s something we poured into this album.”

The album pushes boundaries with highlights like:

"Viscera of Eternal Damnation" – chaotic shredding meets country-infused riffs

"Kingdom of Scorn" – a theatrical metal journey with musical theater flair

"Witches of Deliverance" – brutal death metal layered with an orchestral break

"Blasphemian Rhapsody" – a riff-driven epic blending Queen, neo-soul, and Beatles vibes

Mortuorum is more than an album—it’s a sonic experience that transcends genre. With each track, Parthian showcases their ability to craft something daring, heartfelt, and utterly unforgettable.

Stream Mortuorum now on all major digital platforms.

VOLUCRINE RELEASE NEW SINGLE "GOLEM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Finnish modern melodic death metal band Volucrine are set to release their fifth album via Inverse Records later in 2026. The first single, 'Golem', is released today, and its music video is available here: https://youtu.be/bb9rVOdwLwo

The band's mastermind Jupe Velin comments:

" After the great volcano erupted, the world was left barren and empty. The earth was covered in petrified magma and the air was heavy with ash. As if by a miracle, however, something in the gray mist moved. The boulders and cobblestones rattled and grinded as they piled up on top of each other. They climbed towards the sky, slowly twisting into a spine. The wind helped the sand draw its expression, the clay bound its limbs together. Assembled from the fragments of a bygone world, its cold shell began to resemble a human, but one without a purpose. Even though it didn’t know which way to go, two things were certain: It had a melting heart and a burning desire to live.

As a composition, GOLEM was built up from the, perhaps even a little bit folk-inspired, guitar melody heard in the chorus. When you add Volucrine’s typical riff texture and a crushing verse, the result is a surgical strike in song form that can be proudly presented as the first single from the upcoming album. The lyrics are addressed to those who sometimes feel that life takes away more than it gives. I would like to remind them that navigating through a void without a view requires guts and strength of character. Even there, you might find new life."

LISTEN to Golem on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/volucrine-golem

BIOGRAPHY:

VOLUCRINE are a Finnish alternative metal collective, who released their debut album in 2011. Four albums, two EP’s and countless live shows later, the band's personal style has been honed to its peak, still emphasizing bold testing of boundaries within their genre. The band has a strong focuson their lyrics, which, due to their deeply personal nature, give Volucrine’s music a human voice.

After the ETNA LP (Inverse Records 2024), which garnered a lot of positive attention worldwide, the band is finally ready to present new material from their upcoming album, which will be released in the fall. With the theme of rebirth, we can expect the unexpected from this album as a great circle is closed.

CAERRIAN RELEASE DEBUT SINGLE: "FATHOMLESS RUIN"

PRESS RELEASE:

Vancouver progressive melodic death metal band Caerrian has unleashed their debut single, “Fathomless Ruin”, a fiercely dynamic track that stands as a definitive introduction to the band’s evolving sound. Sweeping, cinematic, and steeped in Viking‑inspired atmosphere, the single offers the first glimpse into Caerrian’s forthcoming EP, slated for release in spring 2026.

"We wanted to launch this project, and ‘Fathomless Ruin’ was the obvious pick,” adds lead guitarist and primary songwriter Ken Rothe.

“Fathomless Ruin” began as a forgotten riff idea nearly eight years ago, resurrected when Caerrian emerged from the ashes of their previous project, Warrborn. As Rothe’s playing evolved, the song transformed, with new transitions, new moods, and a new narrative direction.

Originally imagined with a “Top Gun–style” aerial theme, the track ultimately became a dark maritime saga: a Viking fleet crossing the sea to pillage, only to be annihilated by the kraken. One lone survivor washes ashore, stripped of glory and left only with the burden of the tale.

“It’s a song with a moral. Set out to rape, pillage, and kill, face your demise, and if you live, expect to be alone with no one, no glory, only sorrow,” says Rothe.

Musically, the track mirrors this arc, uplifting and epic, then dark and evil, then triumphant again. The single artwork reflects this duality, merging “death from above” imagery with oceanic devastation to echo the song’s themes of hubris and consequence.

Recommended for fans of Lamb of God, Dissection, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Opeth, listen to “Fathomless Ruin” at the following links:

Add to your Spotify playlist - https://open.spotify.com/track/0PjQSykqxWdlAZufqXQv1I

Caerrian formed after the dissolution of Warrborn, the long-running project that previously featured Rothe and guitarist Justin Gordon. As Rothe’s playing advanced during the pandemic and new members joined, the band’s sound shifted so dramatically that a complete rebirth became inevitable.

“We had a few songs that were OK, but lacked the technical aspects I loved. With the new sound, new members, and new direction, renaming the band was the best solution,” explains Rothe.

Today, Caerrian’s lineup includes Ken Rothe (Guitar), Justin Gordon (Guitar), Justin Marcil (Bass), Tyler Parsons (Vocals), and Aaron Graham (Drums) (Drumeo instructor, UBC Doctorate in Percussion).

Their sound, summed up in five words: heavy, melodic, progressive, familiar, catchy, draws influence from Lamb of God, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Megadeth, and Dream Theater. The band blends technical riffs, massive tones, progressive structures, and melodic solos that serve the song rather than simply shred for spectacle.

Caerrian’s songwriting process is meticulous and collaborative. Riffs are brought into the DAW or rehearsal space, expanded upon, rearranged, and refined until the structure reveals itself. Whispered placeholder vocals guide the eventual lyrical layout, which Rothe and Gordon finalize before handing them to their vocalist.

Lyrics explore themes of power struggles, manipulation, societal fractures, government overreach, and the psychological toll of modern life, often wrapped in metaphorical narratives like Viking sagas or icy mountain ascents. Early on, the band collaborated with Chris Dyck (formerly of Anciients), who helped shape their thematic approach.

Caerrian’s upcoming EP, recorded at Rain City Recorders with Matt Roach, promises a powerful blend of crushing guitar tones, progressive arrangements, melodic and mood‑driven solos, and atmospheric passages reminiscent of Opeth, all wrapped in themes of control, defeat, manipulation, and awakening. On stage, the band strives to mirror that same precision and intensity, delivering big, articulate guitar tones, tight harmonies, technical passages to captivate the musicians in the crowd, and heavy, chug‑ready riffs for the headbangers. Above all, Caerrian’s mission is to make people feel something, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

PITS RELEASE "MACABRE LUXURIA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Pits “Macabre Luxuria” (Full-Length)

Release Date: January 30th, 2026

Country: Latvia

Label: Unsigned

Genre: Progressive Blackened Metal

Format: Digital

About Pits

Pits was founded in 2022 by guitarist Alex to bring a decade of accumulated musical ideas to life. What began as a solo songwriting effort evolved into a full lineup with the addition of vocalist Andrey later that year, followed by the arrival of Rodion (drums) and Aleksandr (bass) in 2024.

Bringing together members from established acts, the band combines veteran experience with a distinct approach to the genre. Their debut album, Macabre Luxuria, showcases this chemistry—melding Alex’s melodic blackened riffing and Rodion’s blast beats with Alex’s progressive fretless bass and Andrey’s searing vocals.

About album:

On their debut full-length, Macabre Luxuria, Pits explores the heavier side of the progressive spectrum without losing touch with raw emotion. The quartet creates a soundscape that feels unstable and alive, shifting effortlessly from ferocity to introspection.

The music is defined by its rhythm section—where aggressive drumming meets the nuanced, fluid lines of a fretless bass—providing a complex foundation for blackened guitar work and searing vocals. Lyrically, the album tackles the "luxury" of demise, painting scenes of scorched earth and internal consumption. From the creeping dread of "Premonition" to the apocalyptic crescendo of "Nero’s Blues," Pits offers a debut that is as crushing as it is articulate.

Tracklist:

1. Premonition (05:23)

2. Night City Delirium (04:33)

DECONSTRUCTING SEQUENCE RELEASE "TENEBRIS COSMICIS TEMPORA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Deconstructing Sequence

Tenebris Cosmicis Tempora

Black Lion Records

7 November 2025

West Pomerania, Poland-based black metal vanguards Deconstructing Sequence will release their upcoming second full-length, Tenebris Cosmicis Tempora, via Black Lion Records, set for 7 November 2025 on CD as well as across digital/streaming platforms.

Deconstructing Sequence was formed in 2012 in Taunton, Somerset (UK) by Tiberius. Alongside former Northwail bandmate Morph, the duo sought to explore more progressive and avant-garde territories within extreme music. Soon after, J. Nerexo (from Shadows Land) joined on drums, culminating in a more aggressive and twisted edge to the band’s progressive sound. This lineup produced two EPs and one full-length album.

The debut EP Year One (2013), mixed and mastered by Arkadiusz “Aro” Jablonski at Monroe Sound Studio, laid the foundation for a new era of artistic freedom. The follow-up, Access Code (2014), featured a video created by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13Media, hinting at an evolving musical vision. In 2017, Deconstructing Sequence’s first full-length album, Cosmic Progression: An Agonizing Journey Through the Oddities of Space, released via Polish label Via Nocturna in 2018, was praised worldwide for its unconventional approach and bold sound.

After relocating to Szczecin, Poland, Tiberius began shaping a new creative direction for what would become the band’s second full-length. With Morph stepping away, drummer Dark Soul joined in 2018, injecting fresh energy into the band. Over the next few years, Deconstructing Sequence meticulously constructed what would become Tenebris Cosmicis Tempora, recorded at Monroe Sound Studio under the supervision of Arkadiusz “Aro” Jablonski between 2022 and 2025, with guest vocal contributions from Mazak and Adrian. In 2023, bassist Immortal joined as a full-time member, followed by Uruk on second guitar in late 2024, finalizing a complete and stage-ready lineup.

Tenebris Cosmicis Tempora blends the furious riffing of Mayhem, the majestic elements of DHG and Emperor, and the haunting depth of Akhlys, forging a journey through idiosyncratic sound and vision. While their previous album lent significant credence to death and post-metal in manifesting their progressive black metal art, this new opus sees the band truly deconstructing their earlier sequence — shapeshifting into a weirder and more unhinged black metal entity.

Tenebris Cosmicis Tempora unfolds as an allegory of humanity’s self-destruction and self-conceit. It follows the last human’s journey from Earth’s destruction to his transformation into a godlike being consumed by his own creation. Guided first by Lucifer and later corrupted by cosmic forces, he witnesses the collapse of faith, power, and meaning. In his quest to control and recreate existence, he becomes the very force of ruin he once fled — until only the void remains, reflecting the eternal flaw of humanity itself.

Looking ahead, the band is already working on new material, rehearsing demo tracks, and continuing their relentless pursuit of twisted, black metal innovation.

Wake up, the void is near!

[Exitus Stratagem Records] — Acclaimed technical death metal mastermind Matt Miller is set to release his seventh full-length album, "Fiber Tormentum," on September 12, 2025 via Exitus Stratagem Records. Marking a bold evolution from his instrumental legacy, this album features a full-band lineup including Jordan Kelso (drums, synth), Justice Robinett (bass), and Biko Wright (vocals), each contributing distinctive energy that elevates the album’s sonic intensity and emotional depth.

Earlier this summer, Miller unveiled the first single, “Descent into Violence,” accompanied by a mesmerizing visualizer and an intricate guitar playthrough premiered exclusively via Metal Insider.

🎧 Single Available Now

Now, the quartet is ready to showcase the next track, “Effectively Neutralized,” making its exclusive premiere on NoCleanSinging.

“This track establishes the tone for our new LP, Fiber Tormentum . It makes a bold statement by blending melodicism and memorable hooks with the relentless elements of technical death metal. This combination creates a unique mixture of ferocity and intensity that delivers an emotional experience, which can sometimes be lost in this genre’s inhuman technicality. We believe this sets us apart from other artists, and we hope our authenticity resonates with the listener,” explains Miller.

A Monumental Leap: From Solo Virtuoso to Full-Band Assault

“Fiber Tormentum” is an eight-track technical death metal opus that pushes boundaries with clean vocals, intricate guitars, and a theatrical, memorable sound. Conceptually, the album delves into a dystopian sci-fi narrative where extraterrestrial forces manipulate human DNA to subjugate humanity — a fusion of speculative fiction and real-world anxieties. The haunting cover art, crafted by the late Joshua Nassaru Ward of Voraath, adds a poignant visual depth to the project’s themes.

“We emphasize our commitment to excellence, experimentation, and emotional authenticity, blending modern production with a human touch. The album represents a milestone in our evolving musical journey, with even greater ambitions for future work,” says Miller.

CHIRONEX RELEASE "THE CRUCIBLE OF BRUTAL OPPOSITION"

PRESS RELEASE:

CHIRONEX UNLEASHES DEBUT ALBUM THE CRUCIBLE OF BRUTAL OPPOSITION — AVAILABLE NOW!

A Progressive Death Metal Odyssey for Fans of Devin Townsend, Gojira, and Sylosis

The wait is over. Progressive death metal force Chironex has released their debut album The Crucible Of Brutal Opposition , now available on all major streaming platforms.

Fusing ferocious riffs with cinematic atmospheres and world music influences, Chironex brings a bold and immersive sound for fans of Devin Townsend , Gojira , and Sylosis . Self-produced and fiercely independent, the album is a 10-track voyage through myth, sacrifice, and the brutal beauty of overcoming adversity.

The name Chironex —derived from the Greek word Cheiro (hand) and Latin Nex (murder)—means “the hand of death,” yet for the band, it symbolizes rebirth through struggle . Each track draws on legends, beasts, and battles from global mythology to reflect the sacrifices we all must face in the modern world.

“This album is about facing down the overwhelming — whether mythic or personal — and emerging changed. It’s brutal. It’s beautiful. And it’s ours,” says the band.

The Crucible Of Brutal Opposition was mixed by Donovan Henry and Zach Hobbs at Squarewave Live and mastered by Christopher Kritikos at Southwing Audio — ensuring both sonic clarity and overwhelming heaviness.

This is more than a debut. This is a declaration.

SYMBIOTIC GROWTH RELEASE "BEYOND THE SLEEPLESS AETHER"

PRESS RELEASE:

In partnership with Bolverk Collective, Canadian progressive blackened death unit Symbiotic Growth has unleashed their sophomore album "Beyond The Sleepless Aether" on limited edition CD, now available as of May 2nd, to follow its digital release on March 28th, 2025.

The band comments:

“We’re proud to team up with Bolverk Records for a limited CD release of our new album. In an age of digital saturation, there’s something powerful about holding music in your hands — something tangible, raw, and real. Bolverk shares our DIY ethos, making them the perfect partner for this release. We’re stoked to bring this record to life in physical form for those who still value the ritual of pressing play.”

CD Order is available at https://www.bolverkcollective.com/symbioticgrowth

"Beyond The Sleepless Aether" can be heard on the following digital platforms:

YouTube (Album Stream) - https://youtu.be/CSOzIaRlo6E

Spotify - https://spoti.fi/42m1Mlp

Bandcamp - https://symbioticgrowth.bandcamp.com

Mixed and mastered by Tom MacLean (Twelve Tone Studio, Haken, Athemon, Brutta), "Beyond The Sleepless Aether" features seven paryalzing sounds of technical metal created by the Sudbury, ON recording line up of Aaron Barriault (Vocals, Guitar, Bass), Devin McQueen (Vocals, Guitar), and Dan Favot (Drums)(ex-Wolven Ancestry, ex-Fractal Generator).

Similar to the band's predecessor, their 2020 self-titled full-length, "Beyond The Sleepless Aether," is once again based in fiction and is lyrically conceptual, but dives more into thoughts and emotions of everyday life, and sometimes those thoughts are hard to deal with. It's progressive, experimental, foreboding, and emotional; every song has its own identity and place within the album's story, taking its protagonist through the multiverse, placing him in places like dark wooded forests, wide open desert landscapes, and the unending cosmos.

"I think the fans who have heard our previous album may be a bit surprised; the sound of this album is a bit different; it's a little bit more experimental in its way. Either way, we hope that fans enjoy what we've created. I feel like the listener may have feelings of uneasiness and wonder. An odd combination, but I feel like it's fitting," adds Aaron Barriault – Vocals, Guitar, Bass.

"Beyond The Sleepless Aether" is recommended for fans of Ne Oblivisacaris, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, Cor Scorpii, and Gojira.

Track Listing:

1. Of Painted Skies and Dancing Lights - 7:03

2. Spires Of The Boundless Sunset – 7:28

3. The Architect Of Annihilation – 10:57

4. The Sleepless Void – 9:52

5. Arid Trials and Barren Sands – 7:35

6. Lost in Fractured Reveries – 8:44

7. Trading Thoughts For Sleep – 10:02

Album Length: 1:01:43

OBSIDIAN SKIES RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "UNMADE BY THE OCEAN"

PRESS RELEASE:

Progressive metal duo Obsidian Skies from Boulder, Colorado, USA, announces the release of their new single “Unmade by the Ocean”, a symphonic journey through a post-apocalyptic underwater world. The single marks the first offering from their upcoming full-length album to be released in 2025. The comment on the track:

“Unmade by the Ocean is heavy-hitting, rhythmic, and technically challenging, while still maintaining a very melodic core. With soaring solos on guitar, bass, and piano, it is a song with a unique and diverse sound. Lyrically, it tells the story of a small group of people who spent the years of Earth’s apocalypse underground, and must now come to terms with their new reality and find hope where there is none.”

Born from the creative partnership of Logan (guitar) and Tim (bass/vocals), former members of the band Endlight (2014-2017), Obsidian Skies emerged during the pandemic as the duo reunited to forge a new musical path. Their combined experience – Logan's formal composition training and Tim's technical background – brings a unique depth to their songwriting approach.

The track showcases the band's signature sound, combining technical progressive metal with neoclassical and symphonic elements. Distinctive piano and bass interplay creates a foundation for intricate melodic solos, while harsh vocals drive the narrative forward, punctuated by clean vocal sections that provide dynamic contrast. It is recommended for fans of Ne Obliviscaris, Alkaloid, and Amon Amarth.

VOLUCRINE RELEASE VIDEO FOR "THE VERGE"

PRESS RELEASE:

The Finnish modern metal band Volucrine released a new music video 'The Verge'. The track is taken from their latest ETNA album which was release last year via Inverse Records.

WATCH The Verge music video: https://youtu.be/LUBOS9nFCwI

Vocalist Jupe Velin comments:

"The ETNA cycle is nearing its end, and we want to wrap it up by releasing a music video for THE VERGE, a song that reflects on the 2023-2024 tour we did in support of the album. This album cycle has been the most important of the band’s career, starting with the release of the first singles. During this time, we grew into a fully-fledged band once again, survived the pandemic, played more shows than ever before, shattered all personal streaming records, released the most polished album of our career, and multiplied our fan base several times over.

Along the way, we also got to re-experience just how amazing the camaraderie in the band is. We truly enjoyed being on the road, and there was never a lack of laughter, even to the point of oxygen deprivation. And a HUGE thanks to the audience! We live for your accepting smiles, your raised fists, and the energy you give us, always coming back to us tenfold. This energy is what fueled the creation of THE VERGE music video, a party anthem about escaping reality, featuring footage captured from the road that radiates positive vibes.

We will begin recording our fifth Volucrine album in Kouvola this spring, with the goal of releasing fresh music before the end of the year. There are more than a dozen new tracks, and while the legacy of ETNA can certainly be heard in them, prepare to expect the unexpected, as is our band’s style. The album will once again be produced by the band’s bassist, Joni Kyynäräinen (KyySounds). Marko Orava and Erik Lindroos will make their debut on the guitars for this album."

You'll get a preview of the new material at Volucrine’s spring shows in Finland, as follows:

Bar Loose, Helsinki - April 9

Bar 15 Basement, Seinäjoki - May 3

Rage on Stage / Möysän Musaklubi, Lahti - May 10

BIOGRAPHY:

Volucrine are a modern metal band that grew up by the cold Kymijoki river, in the shadows of Kouvola's concrete structures. Founded in 2009, Volucrine's mission has been, ever since the beginning, to tell stories of relatable emotions and challenges; to reflect and articulate humane themes beyond the borders of pain. The band's style of genre-defying melodic alternative metal with vigorous guitar riffs, catchy choruses, and varied, rich vocal arrangements has only grown and refined over the years. Volucrine's characteristic sound is created by mixing elements of progressive metal, melodic death metal and metalcore with the conventions of pop and rock music. This mixture creates a heartfelt but heavy style of music, where genuine emotion and primal frenzy go hand in hand.

At the beginning of 2024, the band released their fourth full-length album, ETNA, and were eager to get back on stage after spending a long time working in the studio. Volucrine thrive on energetic live shows and are a true force of nature on stage, bringing a positive energy and uncompromising power to each performance. Operating at the turning point of their 15-year journey, the reformed band is finally in its purest form and is ready for everything the future has to offer.
