Now reinvigorated, Furious Descent has signed with Brutal Records. Their debut EP, "Judgement Day," will finally tear through the streets in November 8, 2024, both physically and digitally. Meanwhile, the band is unleashing their full fury on their second EP, set to drop in 2025, also through Brutal Records.

The finnish groove/thrash metal scene has crushed its way to dominance, setting a brutal benchmark that countless bands have fought to replicate. Its unrelenting, signature sound has become the gold standard for savage intensity.

In 2022, Furious Descent exploded onto the west coast of Finland's groove metal battleground, delivering a ferocious assault that rattled the genre's foundations. The Finnish scene, long hailed as one of the fiercest of the ’90s, and arguably the best, had met its new heavyweight contender.

The original lineup, with Jake (vocals/guitar) and Alex (bass), was soon joined by Stef on lead guitar and Timo on drums, creating a powerhouse that recorded their debut EP, "Judgement Day," in the summer of 2023. But just as they were gaining unstoppable momentum, Timo stepped down, forcing a desperate scramble for a new drummer.

The next lineup barely made a dent, playing just one gig before collapsing. By summer 2024, Furious Descent had regrouped with Oz on lead guitar and Mike on drums, alongside the unyielding Jake and Alex.

HUSQWARNAH RELEASE "PURIFICATION THROUGH SACRIFICE"

Today, Italian death metallers HUSQWARNAH announce their first new album in 3 years, "Purification Through Sacrifice", set for release September 16th 2024 via Time To Kill Records.

The announcement coincides with the release of the band's new single "Tower of Suicide". Stream the song HERE.

The band commented: “A vision of death and horror in this imaginary ancient ritual for redemption. The only way to purifying the soul is the ultimate sacrifice; a concept which belongs to a tradition of primitive rituals, but this instinct, unfortunately, still lives in the hidden corners of the human mind”.

The band was formed in 2019 from an idea of ​​musicians who at the time were part of acts such as Black Rage, In-sight, Atlas Pain and Sojourner. After a debut show supporting Asphyx and some line-up changes, the band entered the studio to record their debut album "Front: Toward Enemy" in 2020. After its release in 2021, HUSQWARNAH kept themselves busy on the live front, sharing stages with acts such as Mortuary Drape, Baest, Discharge, High On Fire and Voivod. The latter show was recorded and then independently released under the title "Live At Bloom" in 2023.

HUSQWARNAH's death metal is as genuine and convincing as it can possibly get, paying homage to certain traditional formulas dating back to the early nineties, with songs that are particularly compact in structure and dynamics, ideal for being performed live and thus reminiscent of bands such as Asphyx, Bolt Thrower and Benediction.

MAREA (translated, tide) it's an Atmospheric Post-Black/Doom Metal one-man band from Italy. The amalgam of the debut album The Silence Of Rust it's thick and structurally dynamic, altering the heaviness in melody; the melody in atmosphere and the atmosphere in heaviness again. The alternation of slow and fast rhythms, as well as high-pitched and raw vocal styles, ensures an intense emotive experience.

On the second album "Solace in Virtue's Absence", a journey was set to encapsulate entropy through meditative states, and dig within to raise better awareness.

Influences ranging from psychedelic black metal, tribal percussions, sludgy riffs and drones to create atmospheres, repetitions, build-ups, and raw brutality are the main focuses of the songwriting process. Delivering rage and frustration at times, melancholy and mystery are found throughout and transcendence, ritualistic themes that relate to the story within the lyrics.

“Beings from beyond receive a cryptic message from Earth, leading them to witness a conflict between two cultures. One of these cultures holds the key to the transmission‘s origin.”

The album was recorded in 2020 in Bizerte during the first Covid-19 lockdown, then the project was put on hold to release the one-track EP "Strive" in 2021. After a mini tour in Switzerland, the recording of the vocals was finished in late 2022. Then the release was delayed for personal reasons.

We try to dispose of negativity to raise potential, but chaos is order yet undeciphered. We Scoured the horizons, we strived for the ultimate price... Did we find Solace?
