AS WE SUFFER RELEASE "THE FALLEN PILLARS" + STREAM

PRESS RELEASE:

Ottawa’s As We Suffer will be releasing their debut album “The Fallen Pillars” on Friday, April 30th and before it officially drops, the band has teamed up with New Noise Magazine for its full stream premiere HERE

As We Suffer is an amalgamation of several heavy subgenres rolled into one. Hovering between metalcore, punk, hardcore, groove metal, and a tinge of melodic hard rock, the band takes listeners on a journey through each track. The track listing for the album was selected with diversity in mind, with each song standing out in contrast to the last.

The concept album’s theme revolves around the pillars of truth. Each song deals with destructive concepts and beliefs that we, as a society/people, should not prop up as truths. It is an experience of unhealthy and damaging thoughts/emotions that explore existentialism, politics, religious fanaticism, and truth through different styles of heavy music.

"This is our first full-length album and we’re excited to bring every single track on it to the masses. We are all influenced by various styles of metal and rock and we wanted to give an accurate portrayal of ourselves to fans. From the djent/metalcore feel of the album title track 'The Fallen Pillars' to the groove metal of 'Concrete Fist' to the hardcore catchy vibe of Shadows Caste in White to the absolute balls-to-the-wall brutality of Malicious Compliance. Overall, we hope enjoy it!"

As We Suffer's debut album “The Fallen Pillars” will be available as of April 30, 2021, and recommended for fans of Killswitch Engage, Propagandhi, and Death by Stereo.

PRESS RELEASE:

Artist: VIOLENT OPPOSITION

Album: Transcendent

Released April 5, 2015

Fast, taunting, cartoonish, brain-twisting compositions layered with screams, grunts, growls, and barks.

Violent Opposition is from California. Started Sept 2013. The foundation is rooted in early earache grind and Frank Zappa. But, west Coast hardcore! And, Canadian Fastcore! I love it!

Lyrics have mostly been a lot of self-help shit, sociopolitical, observations of behavior and culture, what you might expect from a Zappa/grind project...

Damian-vocals and strings- has played in numerous bands such as Bred On Deception, Bad Acid Trip, Lack Of Interest, Progeria, Self Inflicted, Strains of the Apocalypse, Glob, Lie Still, Paranoid Freak Out, DeathGlam, Bro Jogan, and many more.

Adam-drums- has played in xTomHanx, Chrch, Plague Widow, Little Tents, Boats, and many more

FRACTAL UNIVERSE RELEASE VIDEO FOR "A CLOCKWORK EXPECTATION"

PRESS RELEASE:

On June 25th, Fractal Universe will release their new album, The Impassable Horizon, via Metal Blade Records. For a first preview of the record, a video for the new single, "A Clockwork Expectation" (directed by Vincent Tournaud), can be viewed at: metalblade.com/fractaluniverse - where The Impassable Horizon can be pre-ordered on CD, vinyl, as well as digitally. Fans can also visit Fractal Universe's official store for additional vinyl and more: shop.fractaluniverseband.com

Shot at Gouffre de Poudrey - France's largest equipped cave - Fractal Universe had this to say about the video for "A Clockwork Expectation": "We wanted this music video to be shot in a grandiose natural environment. It was a unique and unreal experience to spend two days all alone in the extreme conditions - seventy meters underground, 7°C - of this otherworldly beautiful location. In the middle section, we used UV light and customized the instruments accordingly, to give that part a particular dark vibe! The body-painting parts contributing to that atmosphere were designed by Kazim 2C."

With 2019's Rhizomes Of Insanity, France's Fractal Universe created one of the most musically, lyrically, and emotionally complex and compelling progressive metal works of the twenty-first century. The band toured the record hard, joining heavyweights Obscura in February/March of 2020, making for one of the last tours in the world pre-pandemic, and in doing so, sated their faithful while winning legions of new followers. With its successor, The Impassable Horizon, they have gone even deeper, effortlessly following the trajectory they set themselves on to create an album that is riveting from start to finish. "We wanted to keep developing our musical personality and the natural sound we managed to get on 'Rhizomes'," says drummer Clément Denys. "It's a very versatile and complex album. Musically speaking, you will find catchy songs which are really direct, progressive and mysterious ballads with epic saxophone solos, and technical songs with intricate riffing." Elaborates vocalist/guitarist/saxophonist Vince Wilquin, "despite the record being even more diverse, dynamic and including more clean vocals than its predecessor, the overall atmosphere is also slightly darker and more melancholic." And with the introduction of Wilquin's newly honed saxophone skills to their live set, alongside working with Gojira's Christian Andreu on their stage scenery and production, once the band return to the road they are sure to be an unmissable act.

With the first riffs and ideas for The Impassable Horizon emerging in November 2018, before Rhizomes was even released, composition for the whole record took about a year, with the last six months before entering the studio in May of 2020 dedicated to vocal preproduction/arrangements and finalizing the guitar and saxophone solos. Drums were recorded at the band's own professional recording studio - Boundless Production Studio - in Florange, France, while the other instruments were tracked in their personal home studios. It was overseen by producer Flavien Morel, who has been working with Fractal Universe since the beginning and really understands the band's vision. "The sessions were good," says Denys. "We were not in a rush. This was the first record we entirely tracked in our own studios, so we were for example able to spend two complete days on sound-checking the drums, which was really comfortable." The most demanding aspect of tracking was the vocals, which took as long to record as all of the other instrumentation combined. "Flavien really encouraged me to bring the vocal production to the next level: there are chorus sections where there are about thirty tracks of backing vocals, with every line quad-tracked, to make it sound really massive and 'chorus-y'." With mixing being Wilquin's favorite part of the realization process, the point at which the record really starts to come alive, he was happy to work closely with Morel, and the finished product is everything they wanted it to be. "It feels like the natural evolution of our band sound, keeping our distinctive trademarks and incorporating new sounds and ideas," says Wilquin, and adds Denys, "we hope the new album will reach new fans and please our current ones, which have been amazingly supportive even during the pandemic, and that it will bring the band to the next level."

KILL THE IMPOSTER RELEASE "DONGAN HILLS" VIDEO

PRESS RELEASE:

Florida’s deathcore act Kill The Imposter have a new single out “Dongan Hills” in support of their upcoming album “The Violence Sessions”. Those who have seen KTI live know that the band brings non-stop energy and that vocalist Johnny Nobody can be seen swinging from the rafters or jumping from bar to bar, but this vigor isn’t restrained to the live show, it can be felt on their recordings and in their music videos and this new single is no exception.

“Dongan Hills” is the second track off the pumping new album, it is named after a place in Staten Island, NY that Nobody would take a train to and try to escape life, but he’d always end up getting in more trouble.

The music video for “Dongan Hills” can be watched on YouTube - https://youtu.be/EPTQkrxai10

“The Violence Sessions” are the third release from KTI, following 2019’s “The Decimation” and 2020's “A Strain Of Agony” EP. Reflecting back to earlier work, Nobody quotes about the band’s evolution:

“I think the four of us come from not insanely different places, but different enough that we had to create our own sound. I mean, we didn’t invent the wheel for sure, but I think me trying to put my NYHC roots in everything helped guide the boat a bit. So at the beginning very simple beat-down riffs moved to a now more guided route. I mean we had to figure out who we were and weren’t.”

KTI don’t half-ass anything, each song they write starts with a riff and gets hammered to precision until they can wait to play it in a set. According to them, “when we get those goosebumps listening back to demos - that’s when we know it's ready for the masses to enjoy.”

Angry and heavy, Kill The Imposter is recommended listening for fans of Bodysnatcher, Emmure, and Thy Art is Murder.

“The Violence Sessions” comes out on May 28, 2021.

FOREVER AUTUMN RELEASE "HAIL THE FOREST DARK"

PRESS RELEASE:

Forever Autumn

Hail the Forest Dark

3 September 2021

Avant-Garde entity Forever Autumn will be releasing their 4th masterpiece Hail the Forest Dark on September 3rd 2021. The album features a guest appearance from Aaron Stainthorpe of the legendary doom band My Dying Bride.

Mastermind Autumn Ni Dubhghail comments on the album: “This work is intended as a temporary departure from traditional Forever Autumn. It is a way to highlight the Black and Doom so underlyingly present in all Forever Autumn work. This is not a new direction, but an artistic expression. Forever Autumn remains dedicated to the vehicles of Acoustic Doom, Blackened Death Folk, et alia.  Thank you for your continued support.”

Forever Autumn’s humble genius Autumn Ni Dubhghail abandons any and all prenotions of tradition. Intertwining elements from a vast swath of genres, this acoustic doom outfit is inspired by ancient Celtic, Slavic, and other European folk music, Forever Autumn masterfully crafts a raw sound that breaks down any generic barriers or borders.

Like seedlings scattered throughout the forest by the mere forces of nature, Forever Autumn’s imaginative sound grows with an organic sense of whimsy, cultivated within the vast influences of our megacosm.

Ni Dubhghaill began composing Forever Autumn's haunting music in 2000 and unleashed the band's self-titled debut in 2001. Since then, Forever Autumn released seven more studio offerings and has appeared on numerous compilations. Ni Dubhghaill plays guitar, balalaika, bodhran, doom drum, rattle, and cello across Forever Autumn's recordings, in addition to contributing a wide breadth of vocal expression that ranges from melodic singing to screams, howls, and chants. Cellist Jon McGrath joined Forever Autumn in 2008 and has been a stalwart complement ever since; together, he and Ni Dubhghaill create music that is, as Doom-Metal.com put it, "elegant in its simplicity, fragile in its beauty."

Forever Autumn's new recording "Hail the Forest Dark"  continues the band's enchanted musical tradition. The EP puts forth an elegance that cannot be matched or rivaled by any musical contemporary, taking fans on an adventure that is rife with excitement, drama, and unbridled craftsmanship.

ECLIPSER RELEASE "PAGES" EP + NEW TRACK "TO NEVER WAKE AGAIN"

PRESS RELEASE:

Eclipser’s “Pages” is a dark and brooding sojourn through dissonant soundscapes that write with negativity and melody. The EP primarily resides in the black metal realm however, Eclipser also writes using techniques that are found in death metal, and even a bit of grindcore and maintain a formulaic style. According to guitarist/vocalist Ryan Menard, he personally strives to master what he does rather than trying to do it all.

Today, the band presents their first single from “Pages”. Entitled “To Never Wake Again”, the track is two and half minutes into the depths of uncertainty while enjoying both a pristine and bludgeoning experience of extreme metal.

"To Never Wake Again depicts the life-denying voice of reason that manifests internally when one’s existence is reduced to meaningless suffering. A depressive mentality that justifies taking the ultimate easy way out, offering the afflicted the suggestion of a painless solution. This song is the lowest point of the record, with punishing riffs and an overall negative atmosphere that builds towards a soulful and cathartic guitar solo. In short, we’re bringing the bad vibes." adds Menard.

“To Never Wake Again” can be heard via its premiere on TheCirclePit YouTube channel HERE.

“Pages” is harsh and succinct, the five tracks make up for a total runtime of under 15 minutes, it was produced by Eclipser; mixed by Mike Raymond of Reverence Audio, and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) at Apartment 2 Recording. The EP artwork was done by Misanthropic-Art. It is the fourth release from the band following Pathos (2019), Promo (2018), and the 2017 Demo.

Eclipser was founded in 2017 by Ryan Menard (guitars/vocals) and Christopher Joyal (drums), they are recommended for fans of Ulcerate, and Deathspell Omega.

The entire EP releases on May 28, 2021.

HAISSEM RELEASE "PHILOSOFIEND"

PRESS RELEASE:

Co-release Satanath Records with Exhumed Records: new album "Philosofiend" of Ukrainian melodic black/death metal band Haissem is out on March 27th, 2021!

HAISSEM was formed in 2014, the debut album was released in 2016. Haissem is a one-man band of Andrey V. Tollock, sometimes session musicians help during the recording. The team currently has 6 releases. A year has passed since the release of Haissem's latest album to date, "Kuhaghan Tyyn", and now the mastermind of the project, Andrey Tollock, is ready to please us with another portion of melodic black, richly flavored with melodic death and even a little thrash metal. Andrey says that when he'd created new material, he focused on the aggressiveness and sharpness of the tracks, to prevent the possibility of repeating the sound of the predecessor of "Philosofiend", where a very significant emphasis was placed on the atmosphere in the sound through a large number of synthesizer parts and the involvement of session musicians. As a result, "Philosofiend" turned out to be sharp and aggressive, but this did not affect the quality of the material and performance in any way. On this release, Haissem will stand before the audience in a new, but at the same time characteristic and recognizable appearance. It is strongly recommended for fans of early In Flames, Old Man's Child and fans of aggressive and melodic music in general. Recorded, mixed & mastered at Vetkin Records Studio. Session backing vocals by Adam Seven. Artwork by Mary Kankava (Hellcatfairyart). Layout by Aleksey Satanath.

Line-up:

Andrey V. Tollock - everything

Track-list:

01. An Inspiration For My Inner Carnifex

02. Gore Painted Vacuum

03. Bliss Apocryphal

04. Despising The Infidels

TERMINALIST TO RELEASE "THE GREAT ACCELERATION" + VIDEO FOR "TERMINAL DISPATCH"

PRESS RELEASE:

TERMINALIST Unveil Video For Terminal Dispatch - Second Single From Debut Album The Great Acceleration

Album Out 7th of May on Indisciplinarian

Terminal Dispatch - the second single from Terminalist's debut album

The Great Acceleration

Last month, Danish hyperthrashers Terminalist announced their debut album ‘The Great Acceleration’ and released the first single ‘Relentless Alteration’, a distinct slap of progressive thrash metal with a profound sci-fi concept delivering massively on both visceral and intellectual levels. Today, the band releases the second single ‘Terminal Dispatch’ alongside a video created by director Johan von Bulöw. Terminalist’s lead singer, guitarist and lyrical mastermind Emil Hansen has the following to say about the song:

“Telling a story of aerial and technological advancement throughout the 20th century, ‘Terminal Dispatch’ chronicles a planet ravaged by these innovations in the 21st century. To escape the escalating crises, the advanced technology of modern warfare must now be used to launch mankind into outer space, leaving the dying planet behind to find refuge in the skies.”

Terminalist recently announced a release show, which will take place at Stengade in their native Copenhagen, Denmark on May 8th, with support from Throwe. Denmark is in the process of gradually lifting its long enduring lockdown, which includes letting music venues hold pandemic regulated shows once again. The clear hope is that the show will indeed go on, and the limited amount of tickets for the release show are already sold out. Several more shows for late summer and fall are being planned subject to world events.

Relentless Alteration - Terminalist's first single from The Great Acceleration!

The world is ruled by speed. Speed which drives history forward in a state of ever-increasing acceleration. Such is the central claim of dromology; a theory of speed originated by French philosopher Paul Virilio (1932-2018). It is on this premise that the new Danish-American Sci-fi thrashers Terminalist base their conceptual universe. On their debut album ‘The Great Acceleration’, they bring the dromocratic philosophy together with their own science fiction narratives as they describe a world in crisis and a planet in collapse being abandoned in favor of colonization of space.

Terminalist formed in 2018 and debuted a year later with the EP ‘Abandon All Liberties’, followed in 2020 by the single Voyagers. The four-man band harken back to the traditional and technical thrash metal of the late 1980's, bringing it up to date by fusing it with black metal blast beats, death metal growls, and grandiose prog rock concepts. The result is modern in its concoction, yet retro in its appeal; a style the band itself has dubbed hyperthrash.

Terminalist use the lens of dromology to describe the duality of technology and investigate Virilio’s thesis that the invention of the ship was also the invention of the shipwreck; continuing the thrash metal tradition of political criticism and pessimism about the future. Yet, Terminalist fit in among a new generation of metal bands using the genre’s monstrous sounds to illustrate the downfall of modern society in favor of something new and unknown. This is conveyed in a sound which is fast and aggressive, melodic and dynamic; catchy yet technical.

'The Great Acceleration' was recorded and produced by Lasse Ballade (Konvent, Alkymist, Deiquisitor, Slægt, Orm) at Ballade Studios in Copenhagen during the summer of 2020, mastered by V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress) at Woodshed Studio in Germany, and the artwork is created by Ryan T. Hancock. The album will be released on May 7, 2021 on vinyl, tape and digital formats via Indisciplinarian, and physical pre-orders - including the vinyl versions limited to 300 black and 100 red copies - are now available HERE.

ARCHANGEL A.D. RELEASE "CASUS BELLI" ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

On July 23 2021 Archangel A.D. will release "Casus Belli".

Archangel A.D.’s sound is a powerful force comprised of high-speed riffs, shredding leads and dynamic vocals. Formed in 2015, the thrash metallers spent a few years performing live and developing their song writing before releasing the debut EP Warband in the summer of 2018. To date Archangel A.D. have toured and performed with the likes of EYEHATEGOD, Bobaflex, and Adrenaline Mob.

With the pandemic putting a hold on live performances, and any studio recording, Archangel A.D. released a homebrewed acoustic single Priest of the Void in April 2020. Fast forwarded to January 2021 and studio recording for their new album Casus Belli began. Drawing on a wide array of musical and lyrical themes, the album delivers a powerful offering to the world of thrash whilst including Archangel A.D.’s individual sound. From the brawling bar fight fit for Lemmy presented in Bet on Death to the deeply intimate questioning of life and predeterminism in Door to the Moon, this album is a fantastic demonstration of ideological exploration through music. Creative influences are drawn from a variety of sources; the inspiration for the track The Beacons are Lit will be instantly recognisable to fans of Tolkien. The traditional elements of thrash that make up the iconic sound have a prominent presence throughout the album. Distorted guitars produce the heavy, noisy texture to deliver the subgenre’s notorious aggressive tone. Archangel A.D. haven’t been afraid to diversify their tracks. Blood of the Mountains brings an unexpected change of mood to the album with energetic Spanish guitar rhythms and soaring vocal harmonies carrying Spanish lyrics, whilst Door to the Moon presents a serene and haunting track, darkly beautiful with its deep lyrical subject matter.

Casus Belli dives between compelling worlds of inspiration. Archangel A.D.’s utterly ludicrous energy, combined with high speeds to produce an ear-splitting sound that has an immense impact. Whilst their genre mixing and haunting soundscapes dive deep into emotional depths, unveiling the other sides to their music. Casus Belli is a journey of emotional intensity and power; it is a sheer emotional rollercoaster, and one you’ll want to revisit again and again.

ZENNUI RELEASE "KINGDOM JONES AND THE ATOM HEART FAMILY"

PRESS RELEASE:

Zennui

Kingdom Jones and the Atom Heart Family

Self-Released

1 June 2021

Something rises in the bleak skies of society as we know it and this may be the end. Zen-metal masters Zennui are about to bestow to the masses their brand-new EP “Kingdom Jones and the Atom Heart Family”!

Influenced by the creative elements of the universe and smelted together from the slag of metals, Zennui explores “the zen of existential dread”. Not inhibited by time, and existing from without, Zennui pulls from the very fabric of the continuum to create a sound beyond the boundaries of the ether.

Zennui is three like souls pulling from the collective consciousness:Decibel Smith (guitar, vocals, synth, percussion), Saint Blaze  (drums, guitar, vocals, synth, piano, bass), and RJ3  (drums, vocals, percussion). They are joined by other minds to conceive their unbridled rhapsody

“Kingdom Jones and the Atom Heart Family” is rife with the trepidation of eerie synths and a cinematic atmosphere – heavy, unnerving, and unmistakably inspired by vintage horror and sci-fi movie scores. It’s the type of record that can easily garner coveted radio airplay, and yet, it can also serve as the background playlist to Times Square in the 1970s.

Zennui may elude all characterization, fitting in all boxes while also fitting in none at all. One thing is for certain, the genuine artistry behind “Kingdom Jones and the Atom Heart Family” is forthright and undeniable. “Kingdom Jones and the Atom Heart Family” is presented by Last Bastion Records and culminates the epoch of Zennui. Are you finally ready for the journey to the vast void?

MORGARTEN RELEASE VIDEO FOR "TALES OF MY LANDS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Swiss folk/black metal band MORGARTEN has just released a lyric video for "Tales of My Lands", the second single from their new album "Cry of the Lost".

You can watch at this location: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFY1u4D082c

Morgarten comments on the new single:

"'Tales of My Lands' is the starting point of the story that 'Cry of the Lost' is based on. It's about the day a man realizes who he's meant to be and that he longs for the outdoors. With the song, we want to show this man's excitement and his dreams, his thirst for great things and for travel, and his will to be a warrior."

In search of battles and victories, Morgarten has been touring Europe since 2005. In addition to several short European tours, Morgarten has performed at international festivals such as Occultfest (NL), Brainstorm Festival (NL), Devils Rock For An Angel (BE), Mannried Open Air (CH), Winter Armageddon (DE) and Rise Of Trolls (BE). The band was also requested to be the opening act for Finntroll during their visit to Switzerland in 2018.

Now Morgarten is back with their new album "Cry of the Lost", which will surely not disappoint fans of folk and black metal! The album was mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth) and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Opeth, Eluveitie, Sepultura). For the drums, Morgarten visited Fascination Street Studio's to have David Castillo (Carcass, Opeth, Leprous) do the recording. The result is a high-quality release that will please fans of bands like Ensiferum, Eluveitie and Wind Rose. Morgarten proves that they are the leading folk and black metal band from French-speaking Switzerland and with their new album, Morgarten is ready to march on the European battlefields once again!

"Cry of the Lost" will be released on June 18th on CD, limited vinyl and digital via Inner Wound Recordings.

MASSACRE SIGNS WITH NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS

PRESS RELEASE:

Nearly four decades after their unholy conception, masters of Floridian death metal, MASSACRE, have found a diabolical union with Nuclear Blast Records with plans to release their fourth studio album, and first in seven years, later this year.

Commenting on the signing, vocalist Kam Lee states: “I would first like to give my appreciation to NUCLEAR BLAST for signing MASSACRE. It’s a long time dream of mine to be a part of the metal family under the NB flag and I am even more so grateful that it’s with my signature band. We have a lot of plans for the future of MASSACRE, and what a great place to be making such a proper return other than one of the best independent metal labels in the world.”

Bassist Michael Borders adds: “It’s a privilege at this point in our careers to be associated with the big name in metal labels, we did our best to make this a proper MASSACRE release, an authentic sounding representation of a band we started over thirty years ago.”

Nuclear Blast's U.S.A. general manager Gerardo Martinez says: “For many of us at Nuclear Blast, MASSACRE is one of our favorite bands, and instrumental in the formative years of Death Metal and with their debut album alone. It paved the way to many artists to follow. It’s an honor to be working a brand new record with Kam Lee on vocals after nearly 30 years!”

MASSACRE rose from the swamps of Southern Florida in the early 80's during a heatwave of groundbreaking death metal that produced some of the genre's most revered forefathers, DEATH, OBITUARY and SIX FEET UNDER. Their legacy was founded with a string of classic demos, "Aggressive Tyrant" (1986), "Chamber of Ages" (1986) and "The Second Coming" (1990), before unleashing their critically praised classic debut album "From Beyond" (1991). Now decades later, the band makes their long-awaited return, invigorated with the same youthful rage that brought them together at inception. For the forthcoming record, long-time members, vocalist Kam Lee (MANTAS, BONE GNAWER, THE GROTESQUERY) and bassist Mike Borders, are joined in the studio by some of death's most prolific and malignant songwriters, guitarist Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER, MEGASCAVENGER, RIB SPREADER), guitarist Jonny Pettersson (WOMBBATH, NATTRAVNEN, HENRY KANE), guitarist Scott Fairfax (MEMORIAM, AS THE WORLD DIES) and drummer Brynjar Helgetun (CRYPTICUS, THE GROTESQUERY).

XAEL RELEASE VIDEO FOR "THE WASTE OF DREADRIFT"

PRESS RELEASE:

Sci-fi extreme metal XAEL (ft. members of Nile, The Reticent, Rapheumets Well) have released their latest music video "The Waste of Dreadrift" in support of their latest album “Bloodtide Rising” (released Feb 12th - Pavement Entertainment) .

To watch the video continuation of experiencing XAEL‘s planetary sci-fi adventure, “The Waste of Dreadrift” via the band’s YouTube –  https://youtu.be/rZg7z8ek0PE.

You can also check out their music video for title track "Bloodtide Rising" (features guests Mathieu Marcotte (Guitarist from Augury and Humanoid) and Nate Miller (Chinese Violin)).

here - https://youtu.be/gciPXZb8dvc

Quick info:

“Bloodtide Rising” is a concept album rooted in a science fiction universe that XAEL revolves all their music around. The extreme symphonic release chronicles the journey of a character named Darmak, an immortal who is trying to find purpose in a chaotic and complex multiverse.

XAEL was initially meant to be a personal project by drummer Joshua “Nassaru” Ward, however, when other musicians showed interest it evolved into a full-fledged project with each member contributing equally towards this current full length and the band’s first album “The Last Arbiter” (2018).

Fans of progressive and brutal metal along with sci-fi enthusiasts will take interest in what XAEL is doing. It’s different, and listeners can get lost in the complex multiverse that they have conceived. Epic and extreme, it is recommended for fans of Septicflesh, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Nile.

NO LIGHT ESCAPES is a five-piece metal band based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Formed in 2016 under the name TECHNICAL DAMAGE, NO LIGHT ESCAPES has sought to balance the extremes of modern metal and traditional metalcore with an array of other genres, creating a unique style of heavy music that differentiates them from their peers in Canadian metal.

The band’s sound is influenced by groups such as After The Burial, Converge, Born of Osiris, Poison the Well, Beyond Creation, The Contortionist and other groups in the hardcore and metalcore sphere of music. In September 2018, NO LIGHT ESCAPES released their debut album, The Introspect under the TECHNICAL DAMAGE name. The album was followed by an extensive run of shows throughout Western Canada in support of its release in 2018 and 2019.

In late 2019, NO LIGHT ESCAPES returned to the studio to begin the production of their sophomore album with Tim Creviston (Spiritbox, Misery Signals). Created during the massive social upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the band formally changed their name from TECHNICAL DAMAGE to NO LIGHT ESCAPES to reflect the transformation of their sound and mission for the future.

ACCURSED YEARS RELEASE "WINGS OF FIRE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Today UK metallers Accursed Years release their new single "Wings of Fire".

Starting today, the band will be raising funds for the UK-based charity Woodland Trust to help protect forests.

"Our new single, Wings of Fire, is a song essentially about deforestation. The world is losing its forests at an alarming rate, so this is a subject that we felt we wanted to discuss.

We also wanted to go a little further than simply speak about the subject through our music, so we've decided to try our hand at a little fundraiser in support of Woodland Trust, a charity that aims to plant and protect forests in the UK."

Everyone who donates as part of this campaign will have the chance to win the original (and only) painting created as artwork for this single, as well as having a tree planted in their name, for which they will receive a certificate. They will also receive the only remaining physical copy of our 2015 Oaken Weave single. The winner of this prize will be chosen at random and announced on May 7 along with the release of the "Wings of Fire" music video.

EPOCH OF CHIRALITY RELEASE "NUCLEOSYNTHESIS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Epoch of Chirality

Nucleosynthesis

Self-Released

23 July 2021

Epoch of Chirality brings an epic amalgamation of metal with soundscapes straight out of an 80s Sci-fi movie soundtrack. Richard How, based in the South West of England, is the experienced multi-instrumentalist, composer and self-confessed Sci-fi geek behind the project. The debut album Nucleosynthesis follows the release of the Dawn of Chirality EP in 2020 which saw the project begin to emerge into our world; offering a tantalising taste of what is to come.

2021 marks a significant milestone for the project and the upcoming release of Nucleosynthesis. Epoch of Chirality has been quietly developing with Richard over the past twenty years. Pushing the boundaries of the metal genre is something so many strive to achieve but successfully combining elements of both acoustic and synthesized instruments is no mean feat. The presence of those instantly recognisable nostalgic synths initiates the dimension shift away from this world into another realm. The traditional heavy elements introduce an intensity that elevates the soundscape. Leaving no musical style or instrument off limits, experimentation and exploration is clearly rooted in the creative process. Whether exploring galaxies lightyears away or crossing through portals between fantasy worlds, Nucleosynthesis launches into a journey through the wonderful and the unknown. The album presents a unique experience through each track. From the atmospheric tranquil serenity of Caravan to the Midnight Mountain to the dark haunting depths of Labyrinth, Nucleosynthesis is an immersive adventure not to be missed.

Why should the sky be the limit when there are worlds to explore in our galaxy and beyond? Fuelled by the need to create music that encapsulates the utter power and depth of metal, with the captivating and epic nature of Sci-fi and fantasy soundscapes, Epoch of Chirality has begun a venture to bring fans an experience like no other.

PARADOX COMMUNITY RELEASE "OMEGA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Just imagine you could combine the qualities of some great metal bands at the beginning 90s. The melody from Maiden, the groove from Pantera and riffs from Megadeth...and all that without any limits and genre rules!?

PARADOX COMMUNITY (PC) is a German metal band that combines a wide variety of styles from metal, progressive and rock. The trio does not create a constant boring mixture of all genres but tries to ensure a differentiated and exciting song experience by using different structures and styles for each song. From calm, melodic pieces to pumping metal grooves or a bit of thrash metal, everything is possible within PC. Most of the vocals deserve this name and change from shout to melodic singing or aggressive screaming and back. In terms of style the whole thing is a little progressive, although the band does not sound like "student music” but more like some straight old metal heads. Mirko uses unique riffs for most of the song structure and not only exchangeable parts. Together with drum patterns that complement the riffs but still have own character and ideas the PC sound is created without fitting in one specific genre perfectly.

The band has been in the current line-up since March 2007 after Henk Humberg joined as bass player. Mirko and Tommy have been playing together for about 25 years in different bands. Due to the trio line-up, which is unusual for this style, the band clearly stands out from the crowd. The three-person line-up is particularly advantageous live, because instead of the typical metal mud sound, the PCs have organized and ass-kicking tight live sound!

After so many years of making metal music the band decided to release the first official album in 2021. Prior recordings were just “for the band”. Of course, there were some live gigs over the years and all bandmembers had several other projects and bands, but now it is time to present the Paradox Community metal to a bigger audience. Maybe just to get a feedback from some real metal heads after all these years of making music.

Paradox-Community are:

Thomas Plum (Drums)

Henk Humberg (Bass)

Mirko Mucha (Guitar, Vocals)

BIO:

OXBLOOD FORGE started in 2016 with the idea of playing heavy music their way, and not following the trends. Their first release, 2016’s self-titled EP, dabbled in everything from 70's rock to the Melvins, putting out many fan favorite songs. While their second full length, 2018’s Death Dealer’s Lament presented a more unified heavier sound. Its dark and brooding riffs provided a more doom direction, but still heavily focused on hooks and songwriting.

During this time, OXBLOOD FORGE played in front of audiences all over New England, opening for national acts such as Unearthly Trance, Conan and Mothership. They were also invited to play Doom Over Toronto II festival, in addition to the first annual New England Stoner Doom Festival.

OXBLOOD FORGE shifted gears stylistically with their split with Mourn The Light, embracing the metal of their youth, while keeping to their doom roots.

Founded in the summer of 2007, Madrost is a progressive death thrash act focused on precision songwriting and an energetic diverse approach to their sound. Madrost signed with NoLifeTilMetal Records in 2020 and released their fourth album, the progressive thrash masterpiece Charring The Rotting Earth.

Maleficent was initially released in 2012 as an independent CD-R release and has been out of print and out of circulation for years. THE BEAST OF NOD RELEASE "MULTIVERSAL" + PLAYTHROUGH VIDEO

PRESS RELEASE:

After releasing their sophomore album, Multiversal on March 29th Intergalactic Death Metal faction The Beast of Nod is eager to keep the momentum going with the launch of a guitar playthrough video for "Guardians of the Multiverse."

*You can check out the playthrough video HERE

About The Release/About The Band

The universe’s favorite “intergalactic death metal” entity The Beast of Nod is back with another sci-fi odyssey steeped in tongue-in-cheek absurdity entitled Multiversal. Multiversal is set for release on Earth and other worlds on March 29th.

Active since 2015, the (now relocated to) San Francisco Bay Area, California-based technical/progressive death metal project has released two EP’s, a full-length, one compilation release, and a collaborative chiptunes release prior to the upcoming release of Multiversal. The Beast of Nod came out of nowhere and blew the whole world away upon the release of Vampira: Disciple of Chaos in May of 2018. Achieving a level of newfound praise, a massively growing fanbase, and amazing coverage and reviews worldwide on a scale that doesn’t happen all that often for a purely independent group based just on the merits of the music alone.

Now in 2021, The Beast of Nod takes a galactic leap forward for humankind and non-humankind alike with the impending launch of Multiversal. Never one to be lacking in ambition, the album furthers the intense storytelling lore behind the band’s fictional “The Land of Nod” sci-fi universe while expanding the full scope of what Multiversal has to offer with ambitious release plan ideas that will extend far beyond its initial release date. As usual, the group offers up an intense take on progressive/technical death metal with a strong emphasis on massive grooves and catchy melodies.

Jaw-dropping guest spots from musicians such as Joe Satriani, Michael Angelo Batio, Abiotic guitarist John Matos, Wormhole guitarist Sanjay Kumar, Equipoise guitarist Nick Padovani, and Bleak Flesh guitarist Matias Quiroz are simply icing on the cake of an album overloaded in talent as is by the group’s core members.

The Beast of Nod - Multiversal is strongly recommended for fans of Dethklok, Gojira, Slugdge, Inferi, Rings of Saturn, Abiotic, The Faceless, Marvel Comics & DC Comics, Physics, Astronomy, and Natural History.

MARK DATTER RELEASE "DEATHSWING"

PRESS RELEASE:

Artist: Mark Datter

Album: Deathswing

Country: Slovenia

Genre: Country, grunge, metal, rock and folk

Release: June 16th

Mark Datter is a solo cover project of Matej Voglar (Snøgg, Carnifliate, The Stroj, s0n667, Mr. Van Punk, De Viant DJ (Sikk.ru), ex-Krvava Rosa, ex-Entheogen). Matej started using this alias long time ago on different singer/songwriter open mic nights, jams and solo performances playing covers of different genres ranging from country, grunge, metal, rock and folk. As Mark Datter he is also playing guitar and sings in a punk cover band Mr. Van Punk. Their specialty is that they travel around in a van and are instantly ready for a performance. The set up takes about two minutes, they play for about 15 minutes and in two minutes they are ready to move on. They have been quite an attraction in their hometown of Velenje.

But let's get back to Mark's solo work. During the first covid-19 quarantine in march-may 2020 Mark rearranged a couple of songs by his death metal/grindcore band Carnifliate in a swing fashion. The melos of what became reminds heavily of the band Morphine, which Mark adores and have performed their stuff many times. The original were written in the era when Matej was not yet in Carnifliate, what helped in that manner that he did not cover his own songs, yet songs of his friends that he was very familiar with and sure that he will get a confirmation for releasing the album, where many authors might not be pleased if someone would take their songs and lyrics out of a context. The album "Deathswing" includes five songs from Carnifliate's first album "Slaughtelust" and one from their sophomore album "Disgusting Festivities". It was recorded in Kunigunda studio Velenje by Rok Kugonič who also worked on Carnifliate's and Snøgg's albums in the second half of 2020.
