You ever seen that movie KRULL? Dude, fuckin' KRULL. One day, Keith D (Arctic Sleep, Unearthed Elf) said on social media "Dude I should make a heavy metal album about that movie KRULL." Drummer John Gleisner (ex-Northless) chimed in that he'd be down for playing on that. Because let's face it, the world needs a heavy metal album based on KRULL.
So, as previously stated, this album is based on the movie KRULL, a totally kick-ass sci-fi / fantasy epic from 1983. If you haven't seen it, go watch it immediately. If you've seen it already, watch it again.
Keith & John collaborated on this album via the modern miracle of the internet, writing and recording it during the pandemic lockdown times of 2020-2021. They watched KRULL, took notes, and started making true metal. ALL the riffs and lyrics were written WHILE WATCHING KRULL.
The album was left for a couple years to ferment and age. But now it's here for you to enjoy... DRAGONS OF KRULL "Journey To The Black Fortress!"
So dust off that old VHS copy of KRULL, crank up this album, and start headbanging. Call in to work today, and tell them you won't be coming in today, because you are busy watching KRULL and listening to DRAGONS OF KRULL. And if they have a problem with that, just quit. Visions is a return to the original idea of Nierty which is to delve into the farthest possibilities of black metal and experiment with its endless soundscapes and messages however we see fit. Each song is a death chant for the most insidious of human natures drawing on the age old dread of what we truly are and will ultimately return to and each an ode to its own realisation that life is a mistake that will always seek to correct itself.
