It seemed that this remarkable work of blackened art was destined to remain an underground secret, its desolate sonic landscape largely unexplored. However, an alliance between Flowers of Rust and international label Apocalyptic Witchcraft is set to bring richly deserved new life to this monumental collection of soul-scarring hymns. The following statement regarding the signing was issued under the Flowers of Rust name: “The journey continues. The music of Flowers Of Rust has been described by the artist as a ‘journey into the forgotten, the forsaken’ and with the first, haunting notes of the introductory ‘Eigengrau’ a pall of solitude descends, a feeling of intense loneliness - and the gate to Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul swings open… The title track that follows is a richly organic creation, formed from the essence of despair and hopelessness. The riffs seem to breathe, the rhythms like a heartbeat – alternating between frantic anxiety and utter despondency – while the vocals are unvarnished, harsh and bitingly real. Our descent into shattered abandonment continues through ‘Sour Mercy’, a step into emptiness that begins with a feeling of being helplessly lost, before the guitars take on more menacing and dangerous shapes, delivering sharp injections of jagged pain. ‘Brave New Corpse’ summons an oppressive, soul-crushing weight and all consuming, impenetrable blackness through anguished, agonized riffs, colossal chords and razorblade guitar motifs; then explodes into a rush of bleak exhilaration with melancholic melody winding wormlike through its heart. ‘Bright Violence’ offers stately dread and imperious dissonance, fraught with a sublevel of desperation and perturbation, before casting us into the freezing torrents of ‘Mother Atrophy’. An absolute highlight amongst an array of blighted, splintered treasures, ‘Mother Atrophy’ drags us down into its raging, shadowed depths before casting us upon a distant shore – cold, alone, lost once more, howling beneath an endless, pitiless sky. It is then left to ‘Driftwood’ to render the perfect, broken conclusion to our journey through these Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul.

Featuring the formidable drumming of J V Green (Burial Oath, Goatchamber etc) and a guest guitar contribution from Thorn Blackfyre (Black Altar, Vástígr etc), Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul is a work of incredible potency. Mixed and mastered by Thom Tadsen (Cringe, Trenchgoat etc) it has been cursed with an emotional intensity that pierces the heart like a cold, steel needle. Complete with new artwork, Crude Exhibitions Of The Soul will be released by Apocalyptic Witchcraft on cassette and digital formats on August 7th and a new host of tormented souls will be drawn to its bitter radiance, like moths to a flame.

WitcheR’s history started back in 2010. The band was formed by Gere Karola (synths, vocal) and Neubauer Roland (guitars, drums, vocal) in order to perform atmospheric black metal music based on classical music elements and strong synths harmonies. From the very beginning, catchy melodies and elevated mood took important parts in the music. The lyrics are mostly about witchcraft, Hungarian folklore, adherence to old values, and the maximum opposition to the modern world.

New album "Öröklét" was released November 4, 2025 on CD and tape via Filosofem Records (pre-order), on vinyl via Beveria Productions (pre-order) and popular streaming platforms (Bandcamp, Spotify, Amazon, Apple, Deezer, Tidal). Cover artwork was done by Grafit & Hamu Artworks.

The third video clip by WitcheR has been released, created for the title track of their fourth full-length album, "Öröklét (Eternity)".

The work is not only a musical piece but also a visual special feature, as the clip was created over the course of an entire year and evokes the ancient rituals of pagan witches.

The freshly released video further deepens WitcheR’s dark, mystical universe, where music, nature, and ancient traditions form an organic unity. The rituals appearing in the clip are rooted in pagan ceremonies tied to solstices, witch traditions, and the cycles of nature.

The long, year-long creative process made it possible for the video not only to tell a story, but also to convey time and cyclicality, and even to document the changing of the seasons.

The vision is far more expansive and eclectic. With their debut self-titled EP, they have proven that the twisting melodies and fog-like aura they create with their sound indeed harkens back to their past musical conquests, yet progression is a core tenet as it walks hand in hand with rich melodies and a fierce sense of aggressive tradition. 

What Remains When Hope Has Failed is four years in the making and finds the band emerging victorious from a line-up change, where Chris Walsh (Vocals/Guitars) was replaced by Nick Craggs (Vocals - Vacivus/Neolithic) and Rob Hindmarsh on second guitar. Now as sextet, the band dove into the music for their first full-length reinvigorated, and it shows in the album’s composition.

With GULD, ORM marks yet another important step in their musical development, building on their characteristic epic and progressive approach to black metal – this time in a more direct and intensified format with five shorter and more concise compositions. Musically, GULD is ORM’s most focused and uncompromising album to date. The five songs, which range from six to twelve minutes, are built around intense riff structures, relentless rhythmic shifts and complex melodies that weave in and out of each other like a musical kaleidoscope. The album moves between furious aggression, deep sorrow, and ominous calm, placing ORM in a field of tension between traditional black metal and progressive elements drawn from both death metal and classic metal.

Schreigarm was born in the frosty February twilight of 2020 in the German city of Neuss. It is a project of two experienced Ukrainian musicians, Styrr and Ingvarr. The album was highly praised for its atmospheric depth and unique approach to the genre. Niklas Sundin, the former guitarist of Grammy-winning Swedish metal band Dark Tranquillity, returns with a new Mitochondrial Sun album. Machine Dialectics will be released on February 21, 2025 via Inertial Music.

After the orchestral debut album and the industrial intensity of the blastbeat-tinged follow-up Sju Pulsarer, the new addition to the ever-expanding Mitochondrial Sun universe again sees the project steering towards new horizons. Sparse and minimalistic, Machine Dialectics features ten exploratory and playful compositions with plenty of suggestive earworm melodies and warm vintage sounding synths that evoke a sense of nostalgia and wonder. The mastering was expertly handled by Anders Lagerfors at Nacksving Studios, who utilized his vast arsenal of analog equipment to give the album an immersive and atmospheric sound.

Says Sundin: "With the new album, I wanted to get away from the overtly cinematic and epic soundscapes of the earlier releases and instead explore more low-fi territories. Most of the songs consist of just a handful of elements, and there's a sense of improvisation and unpredictability throughout, as if we're hearing the music come to life in real-time. There's a certain naivety to the melodies, and in a way Machine Dialectics is presenting a "magical" childhood idea of space exploration - simple, adventurous and blissfully unconcerned with cosmic cataclysms and existential risks. The music is still instrumental, and as usual I prefer to only hint at concepts and ideas and leave it up to the listener to interpret the work and fill in the blanks with whatever their own imagination can conjure."

Machine Dialectics is probably the weirdest album in the Mitochondrial Sun pantheon so far, and one is recommended to listen to the whole album in one go, following the correct running order. The individual songs aren't designed for standalone single consumption but are more akin to chapters in a book and make the most sense in the context of the other tracks.

For this reason there won't be any separate singles ahead of the album release. Two songs can be streamed on the Mitochondrial Sun Bandcamp page and the Inertial Music website, and more material is previewed in a teaser video.

In 2020, Artem "Voidger" founded U Kronakh as a studio one-man band project in the genres of atmospheric black metal and death metal.

The musical concept of the band has remained consistent across three albums: a harmonious blend of atmospheric black metal, death metal, and lyrics predominantly dedicated to the raw mysticism of the Carpathian Mountains and events of ancient times.

For the recording of the debut album's vocals and drums, session musicians "Monolith" (Colotyphus, Ezkaton) and "Lycane" (Colotyphus, Ezkaton, etc) were invited. 

This lineup was also used to record the second album and an EP.

The debut album, Stonewounds, was released in 2021 and marked the first attempt to combine death metal elements with raw atmospheric black metal, along with a significant portion of melodic inclusions. The inspiration for the album was drawn from the raw, misty forests of the Carpathians during the author's hiking trips. Many photographs taken during these excursions were later used for the design of all the albums, a task handled by Ksenia "Wintersomnia."

The second album, Night Devours Being (Ніч Поглинає Буття), was written before the release of the debut but was only released in 2024. It continued and developed the ideas of the debut album but was slower, rawer, and more atmospheric. Thematically, the album combines a metaphorical depiction of primordial nature with reflections on ancient perceptions of the cosmos and humanity’s place in the universe.

In 2024, for the recording of the band’s third album, The Archaic Dance of Winds (Архаїчний Танець Вітрів), Vitalii "Wormwood," known for his work with other Ukrainian black metal bands, was invited as the vocalist.

Like its predecessors, The Archaic Dance of Winds continued the experiment of blending genres, becoming a fusion that disregarded any "rules" or "genre markers," as the author believes creativity exists precisely for such freedom. The updated sound and new musical accents added a unique charm to the band's work.

Corroding Soul is the solo atmospheric black metal project of multi-instrumentalist David Lovejoy, yet that simple description does not prepare the listener for everything that Corroding Soul the album has to offer. Building on the success of EPs Hopeless and Nothing, Corroding Soul sees Lovejoy diving deeper and soaring higher as he explores the farthest shores of black metal’s kingdom, bringing a wonderful multitude of emotions, a breathtaking palette of hues and colours to its monochrome world, breaking through the ice with blinding rays of warm sunlight. Corroding Soul is made up of four movements, four intrinsically linked soundscapes that create a veritable symphony of sound and imagination; each multifaceted gem forming part of a greater whole.
